    I am biomedical engineer for 15 years. This job is much more easy than repair TV's and other simmilar equipment
    You do not need to have medical knowledge, just read and understand Service and user manuals, everything is writen inside

    Appreciate your insight, I’ve been in the navy working on avionics as an aviation electronics technician, definitely considering this field when I get out.

      Company I work for was hiring people that had the basic knowledge of troubleshooting. We have a couple of guys that were printer techs. It depends on the company. There are even apprenticeship availability most f the time but you work for free.

    I’m an anesthesia technologist, would I be able to become a bio equipment tech with my AAS degree in anesthesia technology plus on the job training? I’m very familiar with the anesthesia machines/pumps/ultrasound and most equipment in the OR.

      Overqualified. It depends on who’s hiring. Could you do it, 100% yes. Would they allow it without electronics background? I dunno. I tell people if you can operate a microwave, you can do biomed.

    Goodmorning! Thank you for your videos and as it’s very informative. I just finished 5 years as a calibration technician in the military and worked with all bunch of gear, new gear everyday. Mainly dealt with hydraulic, ac/dc, microwave and physical gear. Would my background be fit for this field since they are so similar? I’m a bit nervous to apply due to not being familiar with the medical side but very willing to learn!

      So you going in that direction? I did the same thing in the military but got out 10 years ago. I didn't stay in the profession but am now looking into going to college for biomedical technician work. Just interested to see how your journey is going.

      @@heather5254 got a job at a hospital as one! It's much easier than i anticipated and honestly the training will help you enough especially if you have a technician background! Many routes you can go, hell even I could even consider going RN after talking with someone of the nurses telling me the process. Just work at a place for a year, learn on call and get certs then hop job to job increasing pay! Best of luck!

      Biomed field can be very profitable for someone your age, when I was 20 I had heard about the field but never gotten into it, it’s a easy job to me, the longer you are in it, the higher you’ll be paid.then there’s the imaging service techs, who make 125-150k a year

    • @electronicscareerquestions
      @electronicscareerquestions  2 роки тому +1

      For biomedical, go to a college, any will do. The tools are provided at employment, there are no specialized tools, just equipment regular people can’t afford as you have to get them certified yearly. Wouldn’t waste my time

    I have ZERO background in this and looking to make a career change and get into this. I been looking into programs and doing job interviews. They said they will train me from scratch. Always wanted to learn electronics too. But What books or websites or courses do you recommend to get started or get some type of background knowledge to prepare for this.

    • @electronicscareerquestions
      @electronicscareerquestions  Рік тому +1

      Find a book on how multimeters work, basics electronics crash course in ohms law. Troubleshooting mechanical failure will be you biggest quest that you’ll learn over time. If you can use a microwave, you can do the basics of pm on any equipment

    If I have experience as Aviation Electronics Technician in the Navy, specifically a calibration technician, would this experience help in finding a job in this field?

    • @electronicscareerquestions
      @electronicscareerquestions  2 роки тому

      If the hospital is taking applicants and includes electronics background, sure. Everything you possess as knowledge now is far more than what biomed calls for. They are glorified equipment testers and basic trouble shooters.

      That was a quick reply. I started out in TV VCR repair in 1980 myself. From tubes to solid state. Now working in IT but IT is boring to me. I like a little risk with a bit of serious side to it. Say! I have a few school disposed cassette recorders with six bank quarter phone female plugs on them. I know they are good for something. Does medical equipment use any of those sort of input jacks. and how about them tact switches huh?
