    Thanks for the product reviews mate. Really appreciate the time and effort you put in. Dont worry about what other channels are doing - I've been detailing for years and yours is the main channel I use for honest, no nonsense and detailed reviews, particularly for products I haven't tried yet. You and PVD have got it nailed. You've got a loyal following here so keep up the good work. Merry Xmas.

    Regarding Sonax BSD, i am currently mixing it 50 : 50 with Adams detailing spray (as you found in your Detail spray review the Adams is super silky) I find it is a great combo, retaining the beading characteristics of the Sonax but without the negatives.

    I agree with you about glossworkz, that shampoo is really good, suds+slick+smell
    I've used it only once but feels like a step up from my previous shampoo.
    Carpro Pearl is starting to annoy me, it always tend to be greasy on me, wether i use it on tire at 1:1 dilution, or on the interior at a lower ratio. You always have to come back to it and buff it well to avoid greasy touch. It's still a good product because of the versatility, but i hope to see an improvement on the formula to make it less greasy.
    One product i recently discovered is the Polishing soap P21S. Really good product on exhaust, feels great to use with the sponge and the lather that it produce to clean and polish is something i really like. Hope you get to try it in the future mate

    would be really good to see a review/test on here of the detailing products dedicated for MATT paint and wraps , I'm seeing more and more cars at shows and as customer cars in Matt finishes. There is very little information or product reviews on how to care for them out there and the in depth style you have would be great for this. also definitely think you should do a brand review on AMMO car care.

    Great vlog John, one I now look out for a Christmas. I've just started using Sonax BSD again as we go into the Winter and as you say it water beading properties are amazing, however the spray head is probably one of the worst units out there. I'm going to decant it just to make life easier. Cheers, Kevin

      yer that trigger is f'ing useless.. If you pump it hard and fast it does fan a bit more... a lot of companies fail with their triggers. the worst are those small ones that hardly put out any products.

    • @ForensicDetailing
      @ForensicDetailing  6 років тому

      sure yer, I was trying to give 3 things that are a little bit different. done and dusted is all about this wet look gloss that I love. It could have gone in there actually still love the stuff. but I tend to reach for the other ones more nowadays. use done and dusted in the summer a fair bit still though. so the ones here are more the 3 I would keep if I had to limit myself to 3 as well.

    Jhon I get ghosting and streaks with h2go I cleaned the glass well and clayed let it cure for 15 minutes do you think cleaning the blades with tac system oil zero would help

    • @ForensicDetailing
      @ForensicDetailing  6 років тому

      best tip I can give, one keep the windscreen wipers away from the car when applying.. when you apply obviously clean it properly.. but after waiting 15 minutes to cure buff away. what I do after that is leave the wiper blades up and leave the car well alone overnight. and even then before I use I go over it one more time with a clean cloth. the closer you do to that the better. I find in the summer when its warmer they cure off better. Dont over apply as well , use small amounts.
      HDD and H2go are the best 2 Ive seen so far, the key thing is to let them cure off and prep.

      gotta be 1) prewash 2) shampoo 3) wheel cleaner 4) APC After that, prolly my IPA mix or maybe a fallout remover, maybe a citrus wash, or a dedicated degreaser product.

    • @ForensicDetailing
      @ForensicDetailing  6 років тому

      detail sprays on paper have a 1-2 year self life. thats a bit of a generalization. but they are typically based on forms of quatinary silicon which have this sort of shelf life. Ive had products beyond this timeframe though and they still function. So I would not worry too much about expiry of QD's but if its been sitting there for years and years in the garage I would just bin it.

    Hey Jon,
    Do you have any recommendations for detail sprays that can get rid of fingerprints and waterspots other than Koch Chemie FSE?
    I am only asking this because it costs €9.2 euros for a 1 litre bottle and €46 euros to get it shipped to my country. (which is quite costly)
    Also, have you tried Carpro Ech2O. It is a type of rinseless wash however, you can dilute it to make it a detail spray, clay lubricant etc.
    Thanks.
    Great videos btw, Merry Christmas and have a Happy New Year.

      hey judy I dont know of any other detail spray that is formulate to shifts water spots like FSE. the other products which are effective are all dedicated water spot removals. sorry.
      Not tried echo20 either sorry :( double fail. but happy xmas and new year!

      Id be lying if I said I had not looked at other channel to see whats popular amoung there videos for ideas. so its not really that important "who" because everyone does it, and when you put stuff out there its no longer yours you dont own it, I just didnt want to be duplicating content. Saying that when you do this sort of thing though you can spot if someone is watching and taking ideas and a fair few things Ive done here have ended up on that channel a few weeks after I publish. It has no negative effect on what I do so in a way its kind of nice to see and if it helps spread the word on a cool product then its a good thing.

      no but I would imagine its very good and the same sort of thing as the in2detailing. If its korean and double sided and big then it will be good.

    How does sonax bsd compair to meguires xpress spray wax?

    • @ForensicDetailing
      @ForensicDetailing  6 років тому

      they are totally different products. Xpress wax is old school been around for a long time, think it has some abrasive in it to help buff up the paintwork. but you can spray it on most things and it makes it shine. It doesnt provide any sort of protection though. It is what it say, an express synthetic wax. fast to use etc.. its decent stuff.
      BSD on the other hand is loaded with a really concentrated hydrophobic component that repels water like crazy and lasts a long time. but its a bit sticky and thicker to use.. adds good gloss to the paintwork but not the best feel when you run your hand over the clearcoat afterwards.
      so one is all about versatility speed and a quick boost to gloss.. the other lays down a durable hydrophobic seal

    Do you have any recommendation four beatding off on the carpet I was kind a hoping there was a video to protect my boat carpet and also maybe a car carpet

    • @ForensicDetailing
      @ForensicDetailing  5 років тому

      not really mate. in terms of fabric protection. its more about cleaning often and gently IMO. theres a craze for water repellent carpet and upholstery and fabric guards because it looks so damn good to see water beading off it. but really fabrics , floor upholstery in cars is gonna get dirt ground into it everyday. keey is hoovering it out once a week but in a couple of years it will benefit from wet vac'ing either way. really the best tool is to have a wet vax. have a watch of the wet vax video, I honestly dont think product is the key with this area.

      Thank you for replying Man love the videos I’m just trying to protect on it I didn’t want to get scammed by buying in these expensive products that are garbage I just wanted to help prevent I have a bunch a little ones you know what I mean I didn’t know if there’s anything besides Scotchgard that may be better out there I’m willing to give it a shot but if you happen to have any solution for mold residue I have a 1996 cobra Mustang sitting up I put away fan too it took the carpet out aired it out dried everything cleaned all the seatbelts sure enough more mold has popped up I’ve tried everything that I can think of I finally got it running and I’d like to take it for a spin but I don’t want to get in it with mold

    • @ForensicDetailing
      @ForensicDetailing  5 років тому

      @@livinglife7042 the mold has to be moisture getting in somewhere and then the car sitting in a nice warm place and bang. you have to used chemicals to kill the mold. biocides, or ideally specific automotive mold killer products, lots say vinegar essence 50-50 with water as well (not tried that). once the mold is killed you could then like wet vax out all the car (do it in the summer when its really hot) and let the car air and get bone dry. After than its just a case of making sure no moisture is getting back into the car and resting somewhere in the car for a long time and the mold starts.

    Great video as allways,
    Do you have a comparation of carpro hydrofoam to this chemical guys shampoo?

    • @ForensicDetailing
      @ForensicDetailing  6 років тому +1

      hydrofoam is closer to a wet coat within a shampoo formula, IE you spray over your car in a lance and it will add protection to your glass trim and clearcoat. Need to be carefull with these drying on you.
      glossworks is more a traditional shampoo.. whatever its leaving behind is not so hydrophobic, its less about adding protection during the wash and more about gloss only.
      carpro stuff is solid as hell generally.

    I see a lot of car dealers pushing Diamondbrite. What do you think of it?

    • @ForensicDetailing
      @ForensicDetailing  6 років тому

      hey marcus, ive been asked this one a lot since doing the channel. without sort of testing the product or understanding it, prolly unfair for me to comment.. but let me say this.. I wouldnt personally take any car protection package from any dealship. but thats not because I think Im getting robbed or anything (although i might be).. its because Im just into doing it all myself and I also dont want anyone I dont know machining my car in preparation for some protection package... again its easy for me to critise dealships and their valet guys and it would be unfair to because some might do good work.. but as a generalisation they tend to work to much quicker time frames than detailers.. EG prep and apply the system in 4-6 hours or something... no thanks... but if I wasnt into detailing etc and I wanted a protection package maybe... (hmmm)

    Hey John! How you doin'? 😂 Great video.. but which is in your opinion the best Shampoo or Prewash to strip away all the previous wax or sealant from the clearcoat?
    Filippo from Italy

    • @ForensicDetailing
      @ForensicDetailing  6 років тому +1

      if you have sealant on wax on the car you cant really rely on a detergent to fully remove it. Your going to need to use an abrasive cleaner on a machine polisher ideally. because of that I dont really have any stripping detergents in the arsenal. It just doesnt serve a purpose for me. might well explore it but I dont think theres a lot of offerings of that sort of product...

    • @Rodbraker
      @Rodbraker 6 років тому

      Forensic Detailing Channel wow you were waiting for my question? 😂 what a quick answer! Thanks! I thought to a non ph neutral shampoo or prewash that could strip thw wax.. The only specific product that i can see on the website where i buy all my stuff (www.lacuradellauto.it) is a Stripped Ease from Angelwax! But i was looking more for something like a shampoo. Something that i can say: ok, let's reset to the beginning.

    • @ForensicDetailing
      @ForensicDetailing  6 років тому +1

      detergents can break down waxes, even PH neutral ones. but not enough to remove them. say you hardly have any wax left like 4 months after applying.. maybe these products could remove the reminants off it. Less so for a sealant though, or waxes with additives in them that resist or repel the detergents. So really you need to polish them off if you want them completly gone, say for a ceramic prep or even a sealant prep. Less important if our putting another wax on top.

      Forensic Detailing Channel Thanks! I asked because Sunday i did my first decontamination: After Prewash, two bucket with non ph neutral shampoo and iron fallout remover.. when i came to the tar decontamination with Gtechniq W7, this with its solvents started to melt the childish Meguiar's quick wax that i've laid on August (crazy for the effort). Wax that i thought to have stripped with the non ph neutral shampoo and the 4 months passed.

    both Angelwax products I've had have been awful. The screenwash left smears all over my clean car and the interior gel gassed and fogged up my freshly cleaned glass with a greasy film. My guess is they had a nice range of waxes and rushed out the rest of the range. The products I've used couldn't have been thoroughly tested as far as I can see

    • @ForensicDetailing
      @ForensicDetailing  5 років тому

      screenwash was great for me. one thing though I used it at mega low concentrations because it was expensive and I wanted to ring out as much value from it. It does contain protective components in it which are supposed to maintain their glass sealant. The interior gel I loved and used a fair amount. the only negative I found with it after like months. was in the baking hot summer it could shine up and a bit. like the extreme heat could break it down. didnt noticed the gassing thing but to be honest I dont think I was looking for that, never really tested that sounds like something I need to look out for. hey this sort of feedback is cool though. Id try their glass cleaner maybe. apart from the smell I think that stuff is really good.
