Some of the most major mistakes in Advanced Mathematics like Trig and Calculus is because people are weak in their basic arithmetic. Most of the folks who failed Linear Algebra after taking Calculus 3 was because they couldn't calculate a simple matrix which is all based on fractions. Fractions has gotten a lot of people kicked out of Engineering School😀😀😀😀😀 Calculus and Trig is easy!! However, when you are asked to add 3 Cosine + 18.32 Cosine you go blank!!! But its just like adding 3X + 4X! That's my point!

You know what, I don't remember going this in depth into the theory of prime factors in middle school. I'm a little pissed at this, I'm just realizing that my education was sub-par! That sucks.
I think it is the Teaching thats probably sub-par. This guy is the best Math teacher I have ever seen. He explains the concepts so clearly that it makes it much easier than in class.
Same here, teachers just treated us like babies and told us the procedures and formulas without ever explaining what was involved. I could actually have enjoyed learning Math and instead it became a lot of work of memorizing a bunch of rules then forgetting it from one year to the next, because none of it ever actually "clicked" and there was no relating of concepts. Not sure if my teachers just couldn't be bothered to actually explain anything or if that's how they got through their own Math training, which I guess would explain how being lousy middle school teachers ended up being their whole careers xD
You didn't have a sub-par education. We are so distracted by our friends and competition that we don't pay as much attention in school. No one wants to be called dumb or feel that they aren't as smart as their friends. But at the end of the day you are the one who wakes up at 40 years old and can't add or subtract a fraction 😄😄😄😄

At least you have now found Professor Leonard's videos. 8-)

Ya, knowing the root or principle of a thing in the math is very important. Without it, you'll get confuse about the lesson.
And the way of how Prof. Learnard teach the lessons has a pattern, which is very essential and helpful on understanding math.
He can replace anything on that board with db/du- sin/cosec + tan/cosec . Same Same!
Check the video at 49 minutes....:) what is the missing value? at 49mn and 00s
4x7=28 not 24
