Overshown literally didn’t miss a step from a year ago I’m glad he’s back
I was afraid he was going to lose a little bit of his speed with that injury from last year. That was alleviated after I seen blow past Parsons and tackle Watson trying to roll out to the right. I didn't think we would see a linebacker/defensive end that was as fast or faster than Parsons for at least 10 to 15 years.
Can you imagine what he would have been like had he not been injured?

I don't think we would've lost that Packers playoff game if Zimmer was the DC. Quinn was so bad in that game it wouldn't surprise me if he didn't even have a game plan for it. Zimmer is meticulous when it comes to that kind of thing.

Duece isn’t being used and the Zeke/Rico combination is DOA.
We'll see what happens once Dalvin Cook gets called up to the 53 man roster. Hopefully his presence will help booster that run game.
The run game is an issue. But you do need to acknowledge the Browns have a strong defense.

Honestly as a Landry era fan, Bryan is speaking of what our teams did to his Packers...,....and I agree. We would just 4th Qt run clock with Emmett and Moose leading.....THAT is what I would like to see us in evolve into.
I watched 5 NFL games this week. Rico and Zeke were hands down the least effective run team I saw. Duece needs more involvement. This run game is going to bite us in the @$$ at some point.
I feel the same watching it live. The browns defense is good so I’ll hold my judgment until at least week 3, but it looked to me dowdle would make up his mind what hole to hit before the ball was snapped. Handful of times I saw a whole open up but he was already running into his man cause he attacked the whole too quickly. Maybe it’s just jitters but he needs more finesse. I think duece needs atleast 5 touches a game.
Coach called the offense just the way he needed to. Our defense was controlling the game no need to show anything else. I do agree on using Luepke more especially while Ferguson and Stephens are healing. Great TEAM win rookies looked good on offense and defense Steele was more consistent run blocking. Disciplined TEAM defense for 60min.
Turpin was doing what people with good running vision do he ran at his blocker to bring the defender to them .
Finally learned how to set/read blocks. Before Turpin was trying to be faster, now he's learning how to be a complete returner.

Zim being back is just what we needed. Him listing Liafau over DMO I think was to FIRE up DMO...we have not had 2 LBrs with 20 tackles a pick and 2 sacks....in DECADES. Zim will keep us grounded and thirsty....his no non sense approach has lit DLaw...inspired Micah. Him moving Micah and Dlaw around was masterful.
Also Zeke looked good. I still wish someone would emerge EARLY Cook/Rico/Deuce and let me grind them up with #15 late season and into playoffs.

Go three and out a few times when the run game isn't working in the second half (because it wasn't), and then we're calling Mike a fool for being stubborn with the run. I'm fine with not tipping the entire playbook in week one when you've got the team beat at half time.

That play overshown made on Watson. Reminds me of the same play Jaylon Smith made on Watson back in the day. Spied him then chased him down before he got to the edge to turn up the field

I felt like some of the runs that fizzled out for Rico would have been huge gains for Vaughn. Do blocking was good enough, but it seems like just one DT or LB would get a stop with just one hand free, off a blocker. I think we all know Deuce will make that guy miss.

Luepke has way more yac ability than all TE but maybe Ferg. He used to bust 20 + yard runs all the time in college. Start him with Deuce make Zeke and Rico backups.
Hunter could definitely produce given more opportunities. I've watched his college tape, too. Dude was an absolute beast.
Deuce averaged 1.7 yds/carry last year .. sounds like you want the Cowboys to get beat down.

@@jeffweyler6283 He's not playing college level players anymore... only flashed against pre season scrubs, got hurt and out of commision 3 times last year.. there are Heisman winners whose college game did not make the jump to the NFL.. Vaughn is too small to block on long passes so the defense knows that's not coming if he's in the game ... Not a Vaughn fan here.
You can easily scheme long passes with Deuce in. Do you want to do it for a whole game no. For 2 or 3 drives you can have Duece play and still throw deep if it's a heavy box or a single high safety.
Turpin was setting up the block. He did that all the way down the field.

Great show but I have to disagree about McCarthy having a physical team. He was not that in green bay so he is never going to be like that just running the ball down someone's throat. If you want that type of game plan you need another coach because he was never like that in green bay
On another punt return, Deuce got completely destroyed. It's highly unlikely he's going to make a positive ST impact.

I believe that touch down in cover 0 was designed that way. Because I can’t really see Dak or the online not noticing the blitz or not knowing who to pick up, even before the play was called he was makes adjustments at the line. I’m thinking when he saw the match up he let a interior dlineman through instead of an edge and the db seeing that believed it was going to eventually be a sack and was he was slow to react thinking dak wouldn’t have enough time to throw the ball. Coach always told me the dlines job was to lessen the amount of time a db has to play defense and a db’s job is to increase the amount of time the qb holds the ball for the dline. Thinking the sack was gonna eventually get there so he got lazy on watching his man🤷🏾♂️

There is no way a pass blocking scheme lets an inside rusher free and has Guyton on the wide DE tbh. Someone messed up, could have simply been Guyton based on the protection called. But it looks like they could have called a protection where it’s 6-6 big on big. Maybe Beebee got a little thrown off or Dak over road protection bc the in line TE stayed in to block. That’s not a situation that gets repped too often when TE in line and has a guy 1-1 instead of a chip or double Team
