cmac31 well, the "swatter" told the police that the father had shot the dad, held the rest of the family as hostage and filled the place with gas and ready to blow it up.
Failure to comply in a calm manner is also a number 1 reason why MANY people are shot during these situations as well. Granted, this man had SWAT show up at his residence for no legitimate reason which makes it easy to understand why he may not have complied calmly but lets not lose sight of the real person to blame here. There are too many instances to mention where an Officer didn't follow his training and wound up dead first. We can't blame the officer in this instance if he was going on falsified information that made this man sound like a major threat.

Issho No. Pretty sure I clarified that it wasnt his fault at all. The initial question was "Why'd the cop even shoot him in the first place". I merely gave a reason as to why this shit turns sour more often than not. At the root of it all, the jackass that inadvertently SWAT'ed him is the sole person to blame for this guy dying. We can't just say, "It was the cops fault".
The 911 call audio was chilling to listen to. The amount of sickness in that dude's head that created that scene to the dispatcher is pure evil.
