In beautiful East Oregon
When you try once and fail, you get back up and try again! That’s what we learned during our first night at Cape Perpetua. This gorgeous location keeps teasing us to come back, but we get rained out every time. (see here: bit.ly/camping-...)
With ready (campground) food and gear for days, we took a pit stop at home and headed for the sunny region of Central Oregon.
🌵In the high desert, there’s a place that’s out of this world! The famous “Monkey Face” rock towers over the jagged volcanic cliffs where mule deer roam, golden eagles soar, and many other beautiful creatures call this place home. The peaceful Crooked River is also home to otters, ducks, and geese. There are no words to describe the beautiful diversity, and natural wonders of Smith Rock State Park, but be careful - there are rattle snakes too!
Come into this world and join us for one of the toughest trails in the region, “The Misery Ridge”, and the breathtaking “River Trail.” The HuskySquad couldn’t get enough of the rugged trails, the resident animals, and the trail snacks we shared overlooking the magnificent views to the far distance of the Cascade Range and Sisters Wilderness.
⛺ In the evenings, we found peace in the tranquil valley of Skull Hollow Campground. It’s further away from the busier campground of Smith Rock State Park. Skill Rock is more primitive, and we had to bring our own water - but the serenity was unmatched! Sleeping under the stars, the scent of wild danky sage, cotton candy clouds, dewey mornings, and the tastiest campground dinners we shared with the Squad - made for the most perfect, unforgettable experience.

hahah! No, but we did meet BIGFOOT! 😂 Actually, Tidus and Yuna both got quilled by a porcupine. It was a painful experience and Tidus did not want to give up. He was relentless carrying the porcupine his moth and it was so difficult to convince him to let go ...long story.

As a ranger I have to let you know dogs are to be on leash in the park at all times. Mostly for the safety of your dogs but also to preserve the wild life in the park. Rattlesnakes, bob cats, mule deer, elk, mountain kitties and coyotes all call the park home. Cheers
Just curious, the feedings that you actually show, are they the only ones that the huskies receive? I know my husky eats quite a bit more, at 81lbs. With such vigorous exercise, it would seem a lot more calories would be a must.

I really don't know but what I know is that every video you take is perfect! The way you show the place and your experiences with the puppies is perfect but I definitely prefer long videos because if the videos is longer we feel the experiences you had there. Hope I helped

No, never but it's one of my project :) Last year, we have done a "treck" but we did sleep at home : 20-21 km/day during 5 days, about 112 km

Husky Squad Haven't tried going there in the Winter. We usually get too caught up in skiing instead, as we're also near Mt. Bachelor. It'd be interesting to try though going there in the Winter! I'd bring snow shoes.

Husky Squad Also I agree with your decision to go down, the Winters, especially on Mt. Bachelor, are unforgiving. I went skiing in 40 mph winds and that was difficult. But the lodge is so nice, when it's so cold outside and you can get some warm coffee inside.

I grew up on the central coast of California, not far from San Francisco. My family and I enjoyed camping in the Sierra mountains and hiking in Yosemite. Beautiful area!
Yeah totally! Central Cali is so nostalgic to Jc - he grew up going camping in Yosemite too. We've been there a few times together and had great experiences. Central Cali is definitely a fun place - Mammoth Lakes, Lake Tahoe, Sequoia, and Kings Canyon 🤗❤️ All very beautiful!
