Justin, having been fortunate enough to complete two FHV playthroughs, I think you will look like a freakin prophet. The Masks are strong, but not broken. In some builds they will provide diminishing returns as one's campaign progresses. Wolf and Sparrow def the strongest. Dirty Deeds is one of those gem designs that is both strong and appropriately costed in xp and resources. I hope y'all get to play the campaign ASAP--very much looking forward to those videos!! -Jake H from Patreon
My biggest problem with Dirty Deeds is, that Underworld Market exists. If there's Illicit items in my deck I want to find, I would in 100% of all cases pay an extra XP to buy Underworld Market over this. And once I have UM, there's not really a reason any more to play Dirty Deeds. UM also lets you (kinda) find an Illicit card for a resource, and then playing and using it is just the 2 actions you'd pay for Dirty Deeds as well. Obvious upside on DD is that it saves an ammo/supply and doesn't provoke AoOs, but the upside on UM is that you can use it multiple times and drastically(!) increases deck consistency. If this card was released in a world where UM didn't exist, I would 100% rate this as S-tier, but "unfortunately" for me this is a "maybe I'll try it once, but can't really justify spending XP on this" tier.
I don't think that Olive McBride2 is truly going to "go to the absolute Moon for you" nearly as much as you think, except if you play a lot of The Dream-Quest campaign. *badumtish!* (Anyway, I do think it's rather cute how her subtitle changed from level 0 to level 2, as with similarly-cute subtle/flavor-text changes on some other cards.)
I think a lot of the deal 1 damage to an enemy type cards like long shot or that Elaborate distraction card have been underrated a bit, well, long shot is rated good because it's +1 damage but the connecting location/evade part has been overlooked a bit, just imo. With that or being able to deal 1 damage or evade multiple enemies in the latter cards case seems quite good if it allows you to ping 1 or 2 1 health enemies off the board entirely or put them to a state where now 1 hit from your fighter will kill them with their weapon. A lot of cards get ignored or undervalued a bit because "oh just kill the enemies instead" which works a lot of the time, to be fair but then we've all had those times where you do get swamped or stuff just doesn't work out and suddenly there are 3 enemies where you'd planned hoped on there being just 1. The classic "Oh I'm just gonna kill these 2 easy, then 1 will probably get drawn in mythos.... oh no I didn't kill either of them and drew 1, this is now a problem". Or like a treachery will discard your killing asset right when you need it and you need to scramble a bit
I'm not very high on the Bulldog. I try to avoid spending my xp on Shrivelling, and it looks to me like Shrivelling with even fewer uses. I think if I were to pick out a few other game changers outside your list my top two would be Drain Essence and Ancestral Token.
I personally am not high on Bulldog either as someone who regularly plays Rogues. The .25 Auto exists, and I'd much rather have that for someone like Wini or Skids, esp if I'm taking Dirty Fighting and/or Lonnie as well. Maybe it helps round out the kit but I just don't see it as better than building into combat with my next firearm being Mauser. Even for parallel Monterey where the diff between combat and agility is 3, the Shotcaster is a relic. So the only two investigators I would really take it in are Kymani and Alessandra. It is good in Alessandra, but even there it's not that essential. Idk, the upgraded one is decent but even then 2xp for a 3 ammo half a Thompson for high agility Rogues only is just mid to me.
Upgraded Olive also helps any deck with Ritual Candles I think. On reveal you get the +1 skill value, but then you can choose to ignore those tokens after reveal.
Would it also work with for example Token of Faith? You revealed an autofail during the test, but you don't resolve it, but you still get the bless token? And on a less positive note would that also mean that you have to end your turn with Rite of Seeking if you reveal a skull without choosing it? I guess the question is, does ignoring a token mean it hasn't been revealed during the test?
Hand-eye coordination is the extra shoot you need to avoid facing a enemy's attack. If not it will be next enemy's attack :) Or the extra tooling activation you need. Only cost 1 and xp.
Rules question: how does Long Shot's connecting location text work? When using a Chainsaw, for example, does Long Shot allow an attack on an enemy at a connecting location? A basic fight action? Definitely yes to the Springfield which already attacks at range. Or is the main advantage that investigator A can commit it to investigator B fighting an enemy at B's location?
An investigator at one location can commit to an investigator fighting or evading at another location, it doesn't grant the ability to fight or evade at a range.
Can you get more offerings on the mask than the original value? The wording in replenish one of those confuses me i dont know if you can get 3 offers in wolf mask for example
Finn definitely got some juice in this expansion too, but I do think that Finn has always been really good, which is why his improvement is less notable to me.
The reaction text on Bulldog is just so fun and flavorful, drawing iron when negotiations have failed.
British Bulldog(2) ignoring aloof for Tony’s Quarry is pretty sick
I was hoping the head of Carnamagos would make an appearance!
Crazy that you haven’t got Hemlock Vale yet.

I'm a Skids fan and this cycle is awesome.
Dirty Deeds is sweet because you can use single copies of cards (Like Beretta) and toolbox it. Pretty exciting stuff.

Had me in the first half, not gonna lie.

Long shot will be a game changer for me. I really enjoying playing Survivors.
Artwork on Olive McBride is still one of my favorites on any AH TCG card 😊

@@DakonBlackblade2 ah gotcha. But wait, doesn't the candle only proc once per test since it doesn't say "for every symbol revealed"?

I am doing exactly this with Parallel Jim in Hemlock Vale.
@@PixelatedPlanco Candles trigger on REVEAL, not on RESOLVE. You still reveal extra tokens, you just only resolve two.
British Bull Dog ignoring "Aloof" is huge, incredibly powerful card.

I've been here the whole time
Surprised not to see Survival Technique, you’ve been high on that card’s ability to change things up
It adds a new archetype to explore, which is awesome, but doesn't change the game enough outside of that archetype.
@@PlayingBoardGames fair enough

Reveal 4 tokens and resolve a Paradoxical Covenant
I really thought Survival Technique would make this list
I still want the other class to get footwear
I know that seekers already have footwear, but I think Luke Robinson should get some mystic slippers 😜
Can you get more offerings on the mask than the original value? The wording in replenish one of those confuses me i dont know if you can get 3 offers in wolf mask for example
Sadly, “replenish” means “up to the original number of” uses / charges / offerings. So you can’t have 3 offerings on a mask.
surely Long Shot becomes auto-include in Minh
If you think Skids... instead may I propose Finn. Finn is actually in an awesome place right now.
Finn definitely got some juice in this expansion too, but I do think that Finn has always been really good, which is why his improvement is less notable to me.
Wrong, the 5 game changers are the 5 rot cards ;)
