  • SRI is part of the answer to the global food shortage. Using techniques taught in this video, farmers have been known to increase rice crop yields by an astounding 200-300%...but yet the techniques require no new technology or any heavy investment in machinery. These techniques are all about discarding traditional ways that rice crops have been grown and using new methods which optimise plant strength. This video is a must see for small crop farmers of any nationality...who can incorporate these techniques into their growing conditions! This video is bought to you by ADRA New Zealand (Adventist Development and Relief Agency). An organisation who cares. Other languages including Khmyer, Korean and Bahasa Indonesian will be put online soon. Requests for conversion into other languages will be considered. Good Luck!

Well, and good. Great video and great method! I would like to add also that population control is an important factor in human survival also. To grow more food is wonderful, but each increase in population brings us closer to the edge of finite sustainability.

    1) plant only relatively dense seeds
    2) transplant seedlings when younger (8-10 days after germination)
    3) plant no more than 1 or 2 seedlings in each spot
    4) plant seedlings on a grid spaced at 25cm or 10in
    5) keep the field drained (moist, not flooded)

Can a mechanised transplanter be used with this method?
