this race was trialed for the Grand National because Anthony Mildmay and Peter Cazalet try to the grand national as a jockey and as a trainer but every time they tried they filed the time their horse fell all the time or pulled up and refuse and one even run out of race in the home straight at Aintree there stable was called the Fairlawn the race was named as the jinx of Fairlawn stable
