Sculpting a Mini Clay Dachshund

Here I am adding color "spots" to a little dog. I don't use paint to make different colors on my sculptures. I do this by "flicking" a tiny piece of clay off of a lump of clay with my potter's needle and then setting that tiny piece of clay onto the sculpture. Then I smooth it in with a slender silicone dowel tool (as seen in the video). It takes quite a bit of time but the outcome is very rewarding. .
