@@ChaoticEnigma1the way it works is (according to the only video I saw solely covering this glitch) might be due to seasons. When you save, boot out and not play for an month the season will change when you leave an area. It somehow puts all weather events on hold after one battle when in this state… it’s probably fixed in B2W2 but insane glitch

Shedinja, the almighty god of phantom bugs, placed an unknown interaction into the game's code solely to give mister youtube an opportunity to flagellate himself for content.
This run can be summed up in the first two minutes where Shedinja is able to access the otherwise-unobtainable dialogue from the rivals before immediately losing to the first non-rival NPC in the game.
You getting mad at being able to complete the run was hilarious. Thanks for putting yourself through the pain to show this off. I enjoyed this more than I thought.

"OK, let's get a Kadabra and breeze through this game. What do you mean every pokemon in the game can learn a physical dark move that one shots a frail psychic?"

@@3eve0n The thing is the 3D Pokemon _could_ look really good, Gamefreak just doesn't do it good. Look at Colosseum/XD and Battle Revolution, the animations are so cool! The first 2 have the most rad spin-jump throw for a pokeball catch, and the 3rd one I mentioned has health bars with a really cool damage animation. Both have pretty dynamic animations for getting hit and moves where the Pokemon actually run around or flail a bunch. It can be done, but GF can't do it in the haste it takes to release a Pokemon game so they can keep making new merch and media.
I immediately realized going in to the video that gen 5 was OBSESSED with handing out dark type moves. One of the biggest buffs fighting type got that made them so dominant in the generation was they were ALL packing nasty dark type coverage lol

But him being Canadian means he will have at least a bit of background in French and that ending is more common in French (seeing as where it is used in English is almost always coming from French). @@Jrose11 It has been truth since generation due to level scaling, and they never changed that part nor the relation of attack and defense, only the crit in gen 2 and 6, the rng factor in gen 3, and the added constant on gen 2 (In gen 1 you can get 0 damage), as well as adding other factors before. Maybe in legends but otherwise, Why would you change something that works so well?
Always Game Freak for makimg great mechanics but then not fully implementing them to the best use. The best scenario for tm's would be making them limited use before the Champion and then giving you a quest to make them unlimited with a shop were you can buy any TM's you used. Such an easy fix but Game freak always has to be awkward about mechanics.
Unlimited use TMs was a great change. Gen IX's system is a step back but I can see why it is there and the resourced are plentiful enough and generally easy to farm that you dont need to worry about using a TM like in early Gens.
Man, this run really makes me feel sentimental over Pokemon BW. Sure, some of the gimmicky 3D bragging is annoying, but I actually think this is one of the most pretty looking pokemon games. I miss the sprites, and I love how much personality these sprites had. There where designs to the pokemon I thought were absolutely horrid, but seeing their animations suddenly made me really love the quirkiness of the designs. I even liked how Audino is a grinding pokemon for the less hard-core players who just want to progress by level-up. It's not my fav pokemon game to play, but it definitely holds a spot in the most visually pleasing, especially in the battles themselves. Thanks for this little 2010 memory lane :')
Oh no... Jrose, you gotta stop doing this to yourself! Every single one of the runs so far this month has been absolutely brutal. Maybe you should change it up and do one that's almost aggressively easy? Something like 'How fast can you beat Ruby/Sapphire with a Kyogre?'
Patrat also gives attack evs and purloin gives speed evs. You basically get to/have to start the run with a ton of ev training on shedninna’s only 2 really relevant stats.

i can't believe the silly little trick to skip the sandstorm animation to speed up shiny hunting actually mattered in a run like this, that's pretty funny. i believe the trick doesn't work in bw2 (not 100% sure though) so you could've used that for a completely impossible run

Pokémon Black was my first Pokémon game. I got excited and added a shedinja to my post game team because I knew about Wonder Guard. It... did not last long.
Getting to see my adorable little buddy in a challenge is going to be fun for me to watch. Just need to make sure not to stare at the hole in the back for too long.
I never understood what the goal of reducing the experience that higher level Pokémon got was. I enjoy nuzlockes, and that change made leveling up a new Pokémon after one of my mains fainted an absolute slog.
To rncourage you to use more pokemon. However, I suspect that the system is less designed to stop over leveling than it was to assist in getting underleveled pokemon up to snuff to facilitate adding pokemon late or changing team members. Prior to scaled experience you basically had to catch your aix pokemon for yiur team by the midgame or leveling them up would be a chore. And if they were scaling it one way, they were gon g to scale it the other as well.
this video just makes me appreciate ppl like you cus we all think about things like that but either dont got the time or dont wanna punish ourselves lol (as a kid i use to use ash's team to beat pokemon yellow and it was hard enough using unevolved pokemon [pikachu had boosts but bulbasaur, squirtle, etc didnt lol)

Except all 3 gym leaders' monkeys only know Work Up and a STAB move in BW, just like their Lillipup only having Work Up and Bite.

However, I suspect that the system is less designed to stop over leveling than it was to assist in getting underleveled pokemon up to snuff to facilitate adding pokemon late or changing team members. Prior to scaled experience you basically had to catch your aix pokemon for yiur team by the midgame or leveling them up would be a chore. And if they were scaling it one way, they were gon g to scale it the other as well.

this video just makes me appreciate ppl like you cus we all think about things like that but either dont got the time or dont wanna punish ourselves lol (as a kid i use to use ash's team to beat pokemon yellow and it was hard enough using unevolved pokemon [pikachu had boosts but bulbasaur, squirtle, etc didnt lol)

Thanks as always for the content. Had an idea when considering if Shedinja would even be able to beat RBY without heavy RNG. It would be interesting to see if any subsequent gen pokemon that qualify (this means no steal or dark or fairy types) could beat Mewtwo's time beating RBY :p

wow my very first thought seeing the title was "is it even possible to get through the route 4 sandstorm?" and when I got to that point in the video, I expected the rest to be some kinda theoretical "this is how far you can get if you hack in Sunny Day early" thing or something. it's fun to see such a surprising outcome.
