Book 1: Stay Curious and Keep Exploring ---- amzlink.to/az0...
Book 2 (30% off!): Stay Curious and Keep Exploring NEXT LEVEL ---- amzlink.to/az0...
Perfect for kids ages 5-12
For this one you'll need
acetone (amzlink.to/az0..., styrofoam, markers (amzlink.to/az0...)
Safety Note
Only adults should handle 100% acetone. Let it sit for 24-48 hours to evaporate and toss out the remains in the garbage. Do not pour down the drain - it could hurt pipes, contaminate water supply and the vapors (which are flammable) can remain stagnant.

Congratulations! Netflix, eat your heart out, you snoozed on this one.
No seriously. I love that you dropped multiple videos. Congrats Emily and thank you for showing us how to not give up.
@@elisabethjeffrey8474 Thank YOU all for supporting me over here!
Just want to make a check list for your future self. Here before 65,000 subs. A million is right around your corner.
@@Katie_Jo_21 well this is a nice dream to say out loud!!
My oldest is 9 and he was the most excited to see these again because he first remembers watching Emily's Wonder Lab. Thank you so much for these fun videos
Netflix shaking in their boots now
They’ll definitely have regrets 🤦🏼♀️
Very cool! What did you do with the goo? Probably can't go down the sink. Bag it up and throw it in the trash?
EXACTLY! toss it in the trash, and then let the acetone sit out for 24-48 hours so it evaporates.
Fantastic! I so hope a network picks this up so you get your next tv series 🎉
Congrats.. glad you’re back.. Netflix is regretting their decision..
Congratulations Emily!! Good luck, stay curious and keep exploring ❤
Awesome! Easy to do, fun, and not a million things needed!
Are there other solvents that we use regularly?
What can you do (or make) with the Styrofoam goo afterwards?!
Isopropyl alcohol is also a solvent, but you probably think of it more as a disinfectant (it's both). Other common solvents include methyl ethyl ketone (MEK), ethyl acetate, and toluene. Paint thinner is another example of a solvent application, and other industrial cleaning products can be blends of multiple solvents. Just depends on what you're trying to dissolve.
The power of Acetone! What a fun experiment! 😃💜
How do you dispose of everything? Is it safe to put in the trash or should the liquid go down the drain? That’s the only thing stopping me from doing this with my kiddos.
Emily, would this be considered a physical or chemical change? I believe chemical but you stated it is still styrofoam without the air. Planning to teach this to my students soon! Thanks for returning to share your great demonstrations and lessons!
So cool! So excited for this!
Thank you so much!!
@@SpaceGalayo hey space gall how do you do
They say the “goo” is glue…or at least I heard you can do this to make glue….can you experiment the glue part! Lol
So fun! What’s the best way to dispose of the gooey mess afterwards?
It's noted in the description below the video!
Toss it in the trash and then let the acetone sit out 24-48 hours so it evaporates! (just don't put it in the drain)
Now I am going to have to learn how to make acetone, sine I just learned how to make turpentine with pine tree sap
It’s so cool how it disappeared ~Valentina
Thanks for watching Valentina!
