Another great entry in a great series of videos! Worth mentioning, too, is her frequent use of distortion to give some extra heaviness and grit and rock & roll feel to what's basically dance music.
A friend of mine from college is a massive fan of this band (he’s a drummer himself and is also Italian) and introduced me to this band last year, they definitely have such a killer sound and I have a feeling that they’re gonna have a long, successful career ahead of them. I’m also happy to see Zitti E Buoni in a bunch of examples but I was surprised that MAMMAMIA or even their cover of Beggin’ but Victoria still kicks ass with her playing
Thank you! As an Italian engaging in conversations about wether or not the Maneskin is rock and a little of a fan of Victoria, your video is very helpful for an effective critical approach. Thanks :)
Very good analysis! Bravo Paul! I am not a great fun of Maneskin's music but they are good musicians with a real art in entertaining people.Victoria's playing is effective and her sound kick ass
Hail from FINLAND \,,/\,,/\,,/ - I stumbled to your Viccy / Måneskin / bass habits video absolutely by random, and now - as Finnish metal drums/bass/experimental music freak, I FINALLY learned Viccys Bass Habits - I WILL GO DEEP LISTENING THIS BAND - THANK YOU. PEACE AND LOVE YA´LL 🤟🤟🤟
at least you mentioned that solid timing pocket ( powerful kick drum + loud bass), that reminds back in the days of That " punz punz " disco rhythm signature , so well exploited between the 90' an the 2000' ... BTW "rock" is just another story 😉😉
Super cool video! And I’d love to see you do videos on Jah Wobble (Public Image Limited), Holger Czukay (CAN), and Rockette Morton (Captain Beefheart/Magic Band)
I'm not really into their music but, they are the embodiment of the old "sex, drugs, and Rock n Roll" saying. My vocalist went to one of their shows and the fan base was about as toxic as you'd think. I like some of their stuff though, I think they're trying to go a different direction with their newer stuff.
@@r0xxewell in argentina It was a fairly young audience, most of them were friendly but there were some selfish people who only thought of having a good time themselves
Another great video, Paul. Would love to see you do a breakdown on Mark "The Animal" Mendoza of Twisted Sister. Look up any of their live performances and you'll see Mark's very unique, attacking playing style.
Bro I love your videos but I have to call foul on victoria being the first European bass player featured is only partially true. She is from mainland Europe 🇪🇺. However you have featured Irish, Scottish and English bass players in this wonderful series, all 3 of these countries are not in mainland Europe but they are all in the European continent.
Do you think they use playback? You seem like a very skilled musician unlike me. I can’t help but think they do since they move around so much on stage but never sound off
nah i literally heard them on live and when they move especially thomas the guitarist you can hear some freestyle variations so it's definitely not playback
Maybe because you’re not seeking out the right shit. I hate when people say “rock is dead” yet put 0 effort into searching for music that proves otherwise
@@villiannewyork Rock is dead from mainstream music is everybody means when they say that. Maneskin is one of the exceptions, which is why im a fan of them.

Victoria is amazing. I wish you would have dissected her sound and show what pedals to get her sound then explain how the WHOLE band works
Paul’s a bass-oriented channel.
👏👏👏
As a guitar player i couldnt say it better and i tot agree with you 100%
@@ripperplaysclon152 well yeah I want to talk about the bass sound. Reread what i wrote

Maybe that's a new series. Rig/fx sound rundown.

good live energy... and their music works, thats for sure.

I had heard of the band, but had never listened to them. That changes Now!! Thanx!!
I really love how Victoria wears her "Tapes"....yummie ❤😊😊...and I also love her playing style. And I love your bass channel Paul ❤❤

Yeah
It's not the most complex music
But it's good
And that's what counts
Awesome bass tone
Very interesting analysis!
I don't play bass, but just liked her style and found this
Can you do how to play like markus grosskopf from helloween
Precision bass with sansamp bass driver for the old stuff
Very nice video as always! I think you should also do an episode on Holger Czukay from CAN
Rock fans like to see their favorite genra of music dying too much.
While Morello went to play with them.
You should do Ale Villareal from The Warning, shes such an incredible basists at just 19 years old😊
Got that Geddy Lee tone
Hey Paul love your channel. Could you do a how to play like Glen Hughes?
Great Paul , very fair ♠️
Love your video
Great video!
What about a video on Greg Lake (King Crimson, ELP) or Mike Rutherford (Genesis)? ;)
She also likes to use slides like in For your love and Zitti e buoni.

like how was the fan base? i'm going to see them and i didn't kniw about that
Toxic fanbase how?
According to my vocalist the other fans were "mean, not very friendly, and selfish"
@@isaacramirez3729 it really depends on the country where the concert is set in. I can guarantee that it is not like that everywhere!

Bravo Paolo! Ben fatto 🤟🏻
can you make one of Cameron Picton (black midi) or Chris Slorach (METZ)?
Another great video, Paul. Would love to see you do a breakdown on Mark "The Animal" Mendoza of Twisted Sister. Look up any of their live performances and you'll see Mark's very unique, attacking playing style.
Can you do a video on how to sound like Eric Wilson of Sublime?
Would you consider doing a video of Chthonic bassist Doris Yeh?
Or the Better Than Ezra bassist Tom Drummond?
Hey Paul!
Please make a video about Hunter Burgan! He’s a hell of a bass player!
Dear Paul, here's a request; Can you do Bass Habits videos on Phil Lesh of the Grateful Dead and Ross Valory of Journey?
Waitting for Eric Wilson (Sublime) episode...
That accent 🔥👍
How is there no Les Claypool video yet. Would also love to see either Chuck Schuldiner (Death) or Steve DiGiorgio (Death) on here
How else you think you play authentically devastating levels of hardcore?!? b6!!!
Wow
Can you Cover you re gonna Break my heart again by Whitesnake
They dont play 100% live?? Dudeee what are you talking about
Hey Paul, what did you mean that they really don't play live, are they using backing tracks during their performances???
rap being the most popular music nowadays is a huge statement.
perhaps is true in Italy m8 😂

I guess I live under a rock.

Ha ha ha LMAO
So basically, a band that follows the pop song formula, only played with a rock song timbre.
Temevo lo facessi...........
This sound more like edm pop music than rock. No wonder rock is dead

Either you want it, this is rock
I have, in fact, been under a rock and after being exposed to this, I will happily remain there. Good for them, though; do what makes you happy.
I've seen her hands totally off her base and the beat keeps on. Playback for sure.
No you can hear when she sometimes plays the wrong note. They dont use playback
Then you must have seen the TV performance since bands cant play live on TV. I can assure you that they can play and dont use playback at gigs 🙂
