@@timovehkaoja How does this lens compare to Sigma 18-50 f2.8 on Canon R50. Which is better for lowlight, video stability and sharpness and bokeh effect. Please let me know.
@@gourami7 Yeah, the same rumors that have been going around for years 😕 Sigma might get license to make some lenses, but I doubt that APS-C lenses will be first ones on their list.
I can’t wait to buy this , as I’ve only ever used lenses that have the built in image stablizer built in, that’s my only worry. Is it shaky when shooting stills and video ?
When travelling, zero issues. When on the streets, no issues. Weight is more than what a good prime lens would be, but it is understandable as the quality is just that good. 👍🏻
It is a crop sensor lense, so you can use it on the R8 with the cropmode activated 👍🏻 otherwise you will get heavy vignetting with 18-26mm focal range.
Bro how did you check focus breathing by just zooming in and out? 🤔 You're supposed to check by focusing from the subject to the background and vice versa! 🤣
@@HatimJawad I misspoke on that, as I was meant to talk about parfocal, meaning that does the lens lose focus when zoomed in or out :) In my defence, we had just been testing out the Sigma 50mm f/1.2 ART which has basicly zero focus breathing, and clearly it stuck to my mind 😄
I misspoke on that, as I was meant to talk about parfocal :) we had been testing out Sigma 50mm f/1.2 right before that and talked about focus breathing, so I guess it stuck to my head 😄
It would be awesome if sigma would make an rf version now that the mount is open! I am excited for the new sigma rf 10-18 f2.8!!!
Yeah, luckily we got the 18-50mm f/2.8 which brings some goodies :)
@@timovehkaoja that is pretty cool, I did not see that yet, 18-50 is a great range, replaces the 15-35 and 24-70 for many scenarios.
@@Lathrop_Media Yesh, and it is super close to the 24-70mm on fullframe, which is awesome 👍🏻 it should be the first one to hit the store in july.

@ for lowlight and bokeh, pick the 18-35mm. For more light weight and and all around purpose, pick the the 18-50.
Very very useful seeing focus breathing behavior of this great lens in a real life situation! Thanks, Timo! 😉
Pleasure is all mine 👍🏻 if you got anything else on your mind, let me know!
Awesome video. I actually consider getting another R7 and 18-35 Sigma.
Thanks! Well, you already know that you would not be disappointed! 👍🏻
Great vid Timo!
Thanks bro! 👍🏻 how are you doing? Planning trips to Venice?
@@timovehkaoja Doing good man. Nope, sadly not this year! 🥲 It's house hunting season 🤣
@@acesedc21 One of the most expensive hunting seasons ever 😄 good luck with that, it is exhausting!
Sigma art need to be a renovation a huge renovation to be Rf plus try to put the weight more comfortable do it Sigma you can 📸😏!!!
Sigma could and would most likely love to do it, but Canon being Canon they’re not gonna allow it 😒
@timovehkaoja Aren't there rumours about Canon finally opening up to third party lenses soon ?
@@gourami7 Yeah, the same rumors that have been going around for years 😕 Sigma might get license to make some lenses, but I doubt that APS-C lenses will be first ones on their list.
I agree Sigma18-35 is the only one. Canon will never make bright zoom lens for crop camera.
And that is something that I will forever hate Canon for. They just underestimate their APS-C users, unlike Sony.
Thanks for the interesting video.
thank you!
Can you hear the focus motor on the lens if you have a camera mounted mic?
I’ll make a video about it so you can check it for yourself! 👍🏻

For E-mount and combied with the FX30 it would be a no-brainer combo for literally EVERYTHING

Do you use and adapter for it?

I think you answered it already towards the end..lol 😅 so I should be ok as long as I update the firmware, which ive never done 🤞
@@MosleydollMUA The IBIS of the R7 works fantastic with this lens when you update the firmware 👍🏻 there is a video on my channel on how to do that 👍🏻
