P5 = 20XX
In Persona 5 they did say Rise already hit her 20's that would mean it is at least 4y after P4
@@navycalvin9337 yea ur right but i want exact timeline of p5. Dam u atlus!
@@navycalvin9337 Persona 5 takes place in 2016-2017, I believe. The official calendar follows the timeline in-game. Same goes with Royal's third semester, following up with Scramble later on.

Same in the anime. Yu in this is what happens when you always pick the funny option
@@darkimpulse2829 See, that's what confidence looks like. Yu KNOWS he has nothing to prove, so he can be as goofy as he wants.
An in-game (missable) TV broadcast in P5 mentions that Rise is 21. As we all know, Rise is 16 during P4, which takes place in 2011-12. Due to that hint, and the in-game calendar matching the irl calendar, it's easy to deduce that P5 takes place in 2016-17, with Strikers taking place about 4 months after the ending.
So,yu is 22,yosuke 22,teddy??,kanji 21,rise 21,naoto 21,chie22 and yukiko is 22
but persona 5 only 20xx and never use original real years, that mean is other dimension, different with timeline persona 3 and 4
@@aqua6887 I doubt they're from another alternate universe like the Femc's circumstances or p1 and p2, there’s also multiple evidences that they’re from the same timeline, like the references about the P3 (I think Yukari was mentioned) and P4 cast (Rise is in a poster, Yukiko and Adachi appear on tv), and most importantly the supporting character Tanaka who appeared from 3 to 4 and 5 as a shady businessman.
After noticing that, I actually looked at the days and they seem to mimic 2016's days.
Atlus really doesn’t wanna staple a year on Persona 5, do they?
Too many delays make the game "dont" have a official year, but is easy to know is 2016 (the original release year) comparing the game calendar and the 2016 calendar.
@@BlueTwins even though Makoto is 17 as her birthday in the spring and Haru is 16 due to her birthday being in December and the official birth year for them is 1998 which would make it that 2015 as most third years in Highschool especially around the Tokyo area are usually around 17.
@@chuguvsme no I’m not if you look at her birthday and judge that with her time in the game during Shido’s palace yes she’s 17 and in strikers she’s going to be 18 but when you meet her around September-October she’s still 16 due to Joker, Anne, Ryuji, and Yusake all being 16
@@soundwavegamer2321 I am wondering if you can see my link because it lists her official age.
It also good to note that she is the second oldest student and that 18 years old is usually when Persona characters graduate highschool.
Well if we use the roman numeral rule for P5's date of "20XX", it should be "2020".
They really couldn't just have the P5 cast say 2016 😔
They either forgot that they reveal the ages and birth years of both Makoto and Haru or they thought nobody would notice.
Nah. Its more of an in-game reference to how Persona 5 takes place in the year 20XX, even though uts clearly 2016 when you match up the dates
With delay after delay, this is pretty much Atlus’s way of apologizing about the delays and not giving P5 a specific date.
Just image if the Persona 1 characters were in this (I’d say persona 2 as well but I didn’t look up when it took place)

Did Junpei just call Naoto "Nao-cakes?"
Very minor spoil:
It was a running joke that Junpei didn't realize Naoto was a girl until basically the end of the second dungeon. Naturally, Junpei being himself, layered on the cheese by calling her that to make up for all of the lost time.
Oh, am I mistaken? I thought I overheard something about delicious -NaoCakes-
He called her that back in the first Persona Q game when he learned Naoto was female.
As someone who hasn't played PQ2 seeing Theo randomly in a popcorn outfit made me laugh much more than it should have.
Even the p5 crew don't know what canon year they take place in. Lmao.

I kind of like idea of two sets of Persona users going through their adventures at the same time, never meeting each other, fighting two separate gods that are vaguely connected to each other. And each time one of them hits a milestone, it affects the other team.
Trails into Reverie is a very similar premise to that, but with 3 teams. You can select whichever you want to play as at any given time and they all have stories happening in parallel that affect each other, and sometimes even directly unlock something in the other route, and then they all converge at the end.
Unfortunately I can't really recommend it, not because it's bad, it's great, but because it's the culmination of a long-running series with 9 games prior to that one. It'd be like playing PQ2 as your first Persona game.
a future as bright as they are....adachi/ Igor / konoe haha go brrrrrrrrr

Igor also isn't an antagonist. It was the god of control / demiurge "Yaldabaoth" who simply took the form of Igor
Oh, my God. It never occurred to me that Yuki and Yosuke have the same VA. I never heard the. Together up until this point. Yuri really is a talented VA to be able to do two completely different characters in the same scene.
This might seem unrelated, but whenever I hear Yosuke, I see Pharos and Ryoji instead. Also Persona is apparently very big on reuse since 3 and 4 share a pattern of protagonist and antagonist sharing VAs (not counting Portable's Femc, and Japanese VAs of P4 I think).
Atlus and, to an extension, Sega seem to have a group of prefered VAs. It's not only in Persona, but it also happens in SMT
Lyzder keep in mind Atlus is pretty small all things considered. It could be it costs less to reuse VAs
Yuri is indeed amazing. My favorite role is when he voiced Gig from Soul Nomad. It's definitely one of his best act.
"Could it be we would be victorious?"
You will but with a hard price.

Makoto: “🚪”
Clearly a Persona Q3 will have to include both Sofia from Strikers and Kasumi from Royal, and whoever is introduced in the P5 Racing game.
Black Mask Akechi replacing Prince Akechi and adding Robin Hood to the DLC Personas is a better way to look at this
Persona Q2: “It’s hard to believe we are from different time periods... but we shouldn’t mention too much from where we came from, as we don’t know what effects that can have on the past/future.” And Elizabeth being like: ohhh so that’s what happened
Persona Q: “Chihiro is a third year and student council president in the future. Remember when Rise’s event and the P3 cultural event got cancelled?” Easily accepting that they’re from different times, especially when Elizabeth + Margaret were like: yeah we already knew we were all from different time periods, glad that you finally realized it lol
I easily prefer the Q version of the realization, it was pretty funny lol
P3MC couldn't even go and say, "i knew she'd do it" without giving a clue that Chihiro was one of the girls from his harem
Makes it even weirder when you realise Door-kun probably remembers Persona Q, but doesn’t say anything because...
@@TUCell-ps5mi I don’t think he remembers since their memories of PQ (and Q2) get erased at the end, but it is some nice angst material to write about :D

Everyone has a Nurse kink. Joker let his nurse kink manifest and it turned into a Doctor Kink. Now he’s into doctors, or shall I say the doctor is into him.
Well, it's good that no one told each other what happens in the future, like Yukari becoming a famous fashion model and actress that Ann looks up to and Futaba is a fan of on Phoenix Ranger Featherman. Although technically, if Ken was 10-11, he would be the same age as Makoto and Haru, if the year that P5 takes place in is 2016.
11 in 2009 means 18 in 2016, making him Makoto's age, due to her having an April Birthday
That being said, if Ryuji reacts to and recognizes Rise, I don’t understand why Ann or Futaba wouldn’t react at all to Yukari. Futaba especially since she doesn’t have as much of a filter
An interesting thing to note is that Akechi is the same age as Ken, almost to the day, and they're both associated with the Justice arcana
Atlus is sort of clever for not letting the P5 characters reveal the actual year they're in.
But it still pisses me off.
@@plushytv5295 As much as I want to think that, there isn't an official date.
@@sotoro2154 it is. There’s a reference in P5 that confirms the Rise is 21 at the time of the game. Since she’s 16 in P4 which happens in 2011, it means P5 happens in 2016-2017.
I feel like the timeline is too well thought out. They can't even hide it if they wanted too.
I don’t know that I agree if it’s clever.. I think it’s clever in Catherine, to make Catherine feel timeless and a little mysterious. But it annoys me for a persons game.
Part of the charm of Persona 3 and 4 is that I can look back on the years those games took place: I know where I was when SEES went to the beach or when the Investigation Team rented mopeds. I know what I was doing when Makoto Yuki sacrificed himself to stop Nyx and when Yu Narukami fought Izanami. And knowing how much time has passed makes it more meaningful when we see them again in media that takes place after their game, like Persona 4 Arena Ultimax and Persona 4 Dancing.
Giving the games a canon year helped me relate a lot to the characters and feel like they were real friends to me. Aaaaand… P5 doesn’t do it. So Imo it only detracts from the game that it’s never outright said in dialogue. More so that the only way to find out the year is reverse Engineering the age of a character from a persons game that knew you should just tell the player the year.
Yusuke: I can assure you it’s not 2011…

And those who I don't know their voice actor/actress sounds like when they voice act these characters (mainly most of the characters from Persona 4, as it's the only mainline Persona game I haven't played that isn't Persona 1 or 2, where back then, Persona didn't exactly have it's own identity that it got starting with 3), those who's voices I don't know, I substitute made-up voices I imagine, to fill those gaps
never change Elizabeth.. never Change
I was really expecting the P5 cast to show their Smartphones to P3 and P4 cast since they use freakin flip phones at their time.
Theodore is younger than Margaret ? I thought it went Elizabeth, Theodore, Margaret, Lavenza, but I guess I was wrong
Margaret is the oldest.
Next is Elizabeth.
Then Theodore.
And the youngest is Lavenza.
I pretty much sure that when attendants created, they weaveved in reality retroactively. Like, Margaret was created sometime in 2011 for Narukami, but then reality rearranged so she became oldest sister and actually existed before and interracted with p3 cast in tartarus. Same happened with Theo, when Minako appeared. Attendants are created FOR Wildcards, not other way around, but then reality rewriten - and bam, they always were here, even before.
Of course, that's just an excuse - why don't we see any of late attendants in games before, if they are quite old... cause they were not created by atlus before. But it's a meta-excuse, and i tried to create in-universe excuse. But actully, even if attendants think of themselves as wholesome and independent persons(pun intended) they are created and heavily connected to their Wildcards, they literraly hold links between WC and Sea of Souls - Compendium and act like Anima/Animus for MC.
Margaret mentions that Elizabeth left her job as an attendant because she wants to save the p3 protag. I think all of the attendants exist from the very beginning, they just join the velvet room whenever someone needs them on their journey.
Margaret also appears in persona 3 portable, but I don't know if that involves time travel or not.
In 3 dancing Elizabeth calls theodore a "naive pup worthy of teasing" and says "his height is his most mature trait"
this would be better if they dub pq2 too i hope atlus west will working on that cant wait to hear jb as yu narukami again
I'd laugh if they said that Persona 5 cast is from year 20*censored* and they would constatly using this phrase. Or even better use YHVH sound from SMT4A to censor it.
3:16 Yu canonically chooses the troll options
Nobody tell them about the timeline where Xibalba rises and the Earth is destroyed.
Because that timeline has been erased and none of P3, P4 and P5 characters are aware that they are living in an altered timeline aka Eternal Punishment.
I really liked they tackled the fact that combining heros of different eras should be noticed. Better than Your Name
I'd love it if these games had a Yukkuri voice filter on the characters, Chibis, Yukkuris, annoying ass and cute, stupid and absurd over a sort of serious plot which leads to it becoming hilarious. Perfect.
Wait, how am I just realizing Fuuka’s impressions of Elizabeth and Margaret?
12:30 Subtitles: "Thai pair of dachshunds?"

Hehehe, i gotta say, i find it interesting how while we did get definitive Years for when P3 (2009) and P4 (2011) takes place, the P5 Cast didn’t give us anything that could’ve potentially told us just how far into the Future P5 could’ve taken place from P4,
I guess they didn’t really want to think about that, huh?
Unrelated but one of the best interactions in this game is to me
Is Shinji and Akechi
Like the game takes around November for the p5 team. Before the end of Saes Palace.
And at some point Shinji pulls Akechi aside and says basicaly: i dont know you whole deal is. But you're vibes are horrendous. Call off whatever your scheming.
And Ken is hiding somewhere just watching.
And the Cherry ontop being that everyons games still happen passed the point they get sent home. So like a few weeks after that conversation Akechi will be shooting Joker
These timelines are realy freaking confusing as hell

It's really not. It's just Atlus being reluctant to put an official time setting for Persona 5. But we know it's:

The fact that all the 3-5 persona games are connected gives me a lot of questions.
P3 - P5 are also still on the same timeline as P1 - P2
the blue butterfly that appears to P3MC, the save points in P4 as well as the one that appears in Q2, are the character Philemon from the older games
his creations, Igor and the Velvet Room appear in every numbered game too
during the Yakushima trip in P3, Mitsuru's father mentions that the Kirijo Group is an offshoot of the Nanjo Group, who were also mentioned in P1 and the current heir being one of that game's main characters (Kei Nanjo)
They also most likely got the idea of developing artifical Persona users after Kei seized research documents about it in Persona 2 Eternal Punishment
if you want to go even further, the Persona timeline is also the same timeline as Devil Summoner and Soul Hackers - Soul Hackers 2, and it all started from Shin Megami Tensei: if..., which itself is an alternate outcome from when ICBM hitting Tokyo from Shin Megami Tensei 1 never happened
