Yo Bro, Thanks a lot for all this knowledge. I been following you for a while. I'm retired, on a fixed income. The things you can do in Blender are amazing. Thanks for sharing this knowledge.
Hi there, I design lightsaber (or laser swords!) and use the Bevel feature a lot to create the saber's handgrips. I had forgotten about the custom profile function so I may have to go back and experiment with that to create some nice ridge detailing - thanks for the reminder.
Just what I was looking for. Busy making chairs, learning & practice. Probably one of the first things hitting me over the head is the bevel headache. One moment it works perfectly. The next moment I have highlighted edges of which half of them bevels in different/opposite directions. And other instances it bevels flat and not around the corner. I also can't seem to get the bevel modifier to work like what you've done here -- and have to resort to the bevel tool only in edit mode. Also, I saw somewhere that subdivision modifier needs to be below bevel modifier if you are using it in that order.. Also, in my blender 2.91 that bevel properties you have in the left corner, mine is less advanced. I only see that when I use the bevel modifier. But as I mention, I have to resort to the bevel tool because I can't seem to get the bevel modifier to freakin bevel properly. Catch-22
I've watched a lot of your videos. I've yet to find any (yours or other folks) that focus on what if's. Like.. right now? I need a "When bevels go wrong" video. lol Someone needs to make videos of When stuff goes wrong so that we can get help figuring it out! :) I have one corner of a window that just will NOT bevel correctly/uniformly etc. and I can't for the life of me figure out the issue. Yes, I did rotation & scale transforms. ;) Anyway... that's my suggestion for future videos for us novices. hehe Either way, thanks for your great site!
How might you bevel the bottom of a cube so that the side profile of the bevel starts at 45 degrees at the bottom, but then smoothly transitions to vertical when the bevel reaches the side of the cube? Often times I want to bevel the bottom of a model for 3D print, but I don't want the bevel at the bottom of the shape to create an overhang of more than 45 degrees. I see the profile property may work but the only way I know how is to manually move the profile points, which isn't totally accurate. Otherwise it seems I have to make a normal round bevel, then cut off the bottom of the shape at 1/4 the height of the bevel.
Hi everyone, Is anyone here experienced with Blender? I'm struggling with beveling and could really use some help. I've tried a few addons, but they haven't worked well for me. I'm currently trying to make some street signs, but the edges always look sharp even after I use the bevel tool or the bevel modifier. Can anyone recommend a good bevel addon that’s reliable and user-friendly? Thanks!
Hi everyone! Let me know if you have any questions about the bevel tool in the comments below! :)
THANKYOU BRO!
I've been using your sketchup tutorials for 3 years and now that I'm learning how to use blender, your channel is my go-to!
Wow, thanks!
I've gone through so many videos looking for these simple straight forward techniques. Thank you so much!

Extremely helpful and succinct, thank you
Love the exercises you're giving me to work with here. This is really great. Actually gives me the ability to traverse this platform. Thanks.
Profiles are exactly what I needed to know. Thank you.
Very informative, no-nonsense, straight to the point. Great tutorial for beginners like me. You definitely deserve more views and subscribers!
Thanks very much :)
very helpful !thank so much
Thank you so much!!!
So awesome! :-) Thanks a bunch for this video. I'm more confident working with this tool! :-)
Glad it was helpful!
I liked that you can add new geometry. and then use those edges to create a new shape

Thanks for this great tutorial.
EXCELLENT,... as always!
Thanks!
Great video! Really helpful
Hi...thanks for the tutorial of bevel.. but will you show me how to adjust edge simultaneously to the four edge of cube ? thank you
Great tut!
Great video mate! Very helpful!

Helped a lot
you saved my life, thanks!
This really helped me RN..
Very nice - thanks !
Thanks, nice tutorial.
Omg custom crown moldings 😀
THANK YOU!
I loaded the can model. But the bevel only goes one way. Not both ways. How to fix it bro

great for doing edges but if faces are not all same size like a rectangle the bevel as you drag it out it does not stay equal
Super good stuff!
Appreciate it!
Not to nitpick, but you forgot to add the "press C to snap bevel" tip so that geometry doesn't intersect.
thanks
Awesome Sauce! Subbed :)

this dosent work. i press bevel and move my mouse, nothing happens
How to add segments at the same time curving it when you don't have a mouse. What an alternative command key for that
Wouldn't you just use the menu that pops up when you first bevel? Also...if you're going to work in 3D, you should probably get a mouse....
we're not going to get into a ton of that but...
swipe next
Don't know what this means, but...good luck I guess?
Hi, is it possible after customizing the profile, save it for use in other projects?
Hmmm...this is don't know - I kind of thought so, but I'm not 100% sure
Hi! Is there a way to apply Bevel after applying Extrude to the mesh data? Bevel gets disabled once I add Extrude to any object.
Does it work on edit mode?
@@TheCGEssentials I was trying Extrude and Bevel in the edit mode with no luck.
00:32
I actually do that all the time but now it's not in the center for some reason
do you have a solution for this? please
Are your settings the same as mine at 0:53?
@@TheCGEssentials i don't have all these options
i'm using 2.81
@@manar6782 Well then you might need to download 2.83...A lot of these were changed in that version
@@TheCGEssentials I'm afraid that my laptop is going to crash
does it require powerful specifications?
@@TheCGEssentialsi downloaded the last version, yes i have the same settings of yours and the same problem too.
i lost so much time because bevel makes weird things and never what i want
