That would be nice… but unfortunately…Americans are way too arrogant and selfish. I volunteer with the Salvation Army and we feed the homeless weekly, give them necessities….but the city officials are more interested in building offices, sports venues, etcetera….then helping these poor people. Some are working poor. Some are unwed mothers. Some are veterans. No religious organizations or the VA help at all. It’s heartbreaking.
Governor Walsh just Said the exact same thing at one of his rallies..
We should think of helping each other.
Europe and other countries have pride in their country, something American need to learn, its citizens are important than the almighty dollar.
To be fair, most Americans don't have that arrogance. One needs to understand the ppl who are American that travel abroad most often are largely a bit of an elitist crowd to start with. In other words, they are built with an air of superiority and detachment more due to their status in life than their allegiance to any country. The avg American can say yes, we are a great country but we also have much work to do and we should work harder to see what works best in others across the world as opposed to thinking we have it all figured out bc the avg person here knows we could make vast improvements same as many others.
Thank you Lady G for bring up the rents being raised…I retired 24yrs ago small town on the southern coast of Oregon, a corp from another state bought our Park & my rent was 300$ it is now 600$ soon I won’t be able to afford the rent!

PDiddy has all ready been arrested. The judge wouldn’t give him bail, so he’s stuck in jail until the trial.
Diddy will get way more than 20 years. His list of crimes is long and very horrific.
The US is spending billions on homelessness. Part of the problem is no one is tracking how the various organizations are spending this money. This is a problem in CA.

There is a rental crisis as well that is driving homelessness. My apartment building is infested with mice. I've been warned not to report my landlord to the health department because it's a guarantee my landlord will evict me. I've been looking for a new apartment for six years. Many base rent on your salary. They will automatically take 30% of your income (what financial advisors recommend people should never do; they should make housing cost far lower than 30% whenever possible). Most rents are monthly now, but that's because it turns out many of the monthly rentals are actually for sale as well. And it's difficult to find an unfurnished apartment now. If you already own your own furniture, you have to give it up to move. If you're single, it's impossible to find something affordable. This is the reality in Massachusetts, a supposed liberal state. This is corporate Control.
When I bought my house in the ‘90s’, it was advised that you pay one quarter of your salary. It definitely has changed since then. I now live in an apartment, my rent in 2022 went up $200 a month then in 2023 it went up $150. This year the rent back to $50. It’s now going back to $50 a month.
Maine, too, tons of homeless. No one cares, state paid state workers 2k bonuses... probably should have been for food shelter, and medical.Brutal.

On the P Did-he issue, I was watching on Christopher Titus TV that Diddy has cameras all over his home a lot of things were filmed. So, the FBI has a lot of damning information. I’m sure there will be many worried people. The footage of him beating his girlfriend at a hotel is awful. I am glad the cards show there’s some comeuppance.

The main solution to the housing crisis is to build more affordable housing. I have hope that the Harris administration will be able to deal with this, especially if she has a Democratic Congress.
Another solution would be to stop large corporations from buying up inexpensive homes and turning them into air bnbs.
Harris has already addressed both these issues at the DNC. If you didn't watch it it was amazing. One commentator said it was like Woodstock! Every night was more exciting than the night before!

Harris addressed this issue. She is going to sign into bill once to pass, that medical bills will not affect peoples credit rating so it won't go against some buying or renting a house. They are giving tax breaks to contractors who build affordable housing. I may not solve the issue but will be a start.
Hoagie, just a heads up about the lights someone mentioned...flashing lights can trigger those watching that have epilepsy into seizing. The gently shifting colors will not bother but the flashing light over your left shoulder in video that you turned off will definitely bother some. I like the disco effect you had going but still just to be on safe side thats why some may have said something. Epileptic folks are very often photo sensitive & easily photo triggered. This is same reason say at theme parks & rides they often say no pacemakers or there is a flashing light warning. It can really wreak havoc on sensitive biorhythms. If you weren't aware, that is why.
In addition, many many epileptics are very high empaths/psychics...so you might find you have more than a few watching. We're wired different like that. :) We love ya nevertheless. 💓🙋

Lena, once again in regards to office blocks for homeless. Look up Wellington NZ. Permits changed for the middle of cbd with support and it has ruined the city with drugs alcohol sleeping in the streets traffic problems especially with busses and increase in abuse of workers. It failed terribly and that's our capital city. Business can not function anymore in this area and not enough police. They have support yet gone wrong with temptation we blame American capitalism version of colonization. Food for thought as rural farming for them has worked.
