- We head back to Westwood Lakes with Fishomania 2022 champion Kristian Jones to discuss how he won this year's final and walked away with a cool £50,000. Pole fishing was the name of the game this year, targeting carp and f1s.
Three critical approaches, edge fishing, short fishing and shallow fishing would be key to this year's final at Westwood Lakes and Kristian explains why these methods were so important to be in with a chance of framing.
Getting off to a good start was key as the middle period is always a case of just trying to catch what you can with the hope of a big finish and that is exactly what happened. Kristian explains the bait choices and the reasons why and how the bank runner played a key part in the process.

Personally I couldn't care less what tic-tacs won you fishomania 2022, I'm more interested in learning your tic-tacs for the last 10 or so years you've been pounding Heronbrook with your infectious smile every photo shot? No doubt imo that you're the next Jamie Hughes!! The king has his reign then it's time for the next generation.. (You). I've fished Heronbrook for 30 years and win against the best of the best 1 out've 7/8 matches and winning sections 3 in 5. Be it ireegular financial backing with little backing or sponsorship, imo that's not a bad return for less than 10 matches a year.

Art Hilmi fished an awesome match. However, one thing I have found with F1s is they tend to drift off at the end of the match. The final hour will always be difficult, especially if you think you are going to win because you are ahead by such a big margin. Also, the effort put in chasing F1s for 5 hours is draining. Well done to all of the competitors and particular to Kristian.
There were enough F1s for Art to win. He lost three fish in the last half hour, which is a shame as he'd been so brilliant all day. Well done to Kristian to keep pushing all the way to the end.
