I think 19-20 had the best chase cards but a really bad base and parallel set. The sets before that had better base sets and parallels but very bland chase cards. Also I haven't broken 2016 yet, but I have 2 boxes of them, so I can't say for sure.
If you're looking for current boxes you're better off with regular online retailers like Dave & Adams, Steel City or Blowout Cards. I don't have any particular sellers from which I frequently buy and I only buy older boxes on ebay.
they should go back to the 2018-19 format..those looked great with the border foiling..just picked up a full base set with the some of the chase sets and it's kind of a bit underwhelming..
My 1st box break was pretty trash too! Underwhelming for sure. Box break 2 was much more fruitful. Hopefully you'll get some nice hits in the next box 🤞
Glad to see your still around. I have to take a look at your recent breaks, I haven't seen your content in a while. For some reason they didn't pop up in my recommendations.
Sketch cards are tough to pull, probably something like 1-2 per case. If your main goal is a sketch card you should probably better buy one off ebay. There are some nice sketch cards there, sometimes for very good prices.
@@randomcollector2353 yes sir but probably I will feel really glad if I can be the one to pull a sketch from a hobby box that I bought. Waiting for your Spiderman Metal Box opening sir!
This set is ok I only picked up hulk related cards and blade. I'm mainly a character collector which would be hulk but I collect all hulk related. Love the video! Btw I think the best looking cards are the holos but they seem rare.
Personally, I wasn't expecting much out of this set when I opened my box but ended up with a creator's corner auto and a hologram parallel. Do you think it's a better idea to wait for Marvel Metal Universe Spider-Man? I love any set that is Spider-Man focused; the previous 2017 Flair Ultra Spider-Man was one of my favourites. Pulled a 1/1 PMG Gold Rhino out of it, one of my most memorable pulls.
I wasn't expecting much either, but the last set had really nice chase cards and I was a bit disapointed that the ones in this set have cheaper foiling. Sadly I didn't get any big hits besides a tier 4 variant. In regards to waiting for Spider-Man Metal, I'm not so sure. The X-Men Metal set had so many flaws and was too expensive and SP Metal is already even more expensive, I've pre-ordered one box, but that's most likely going to be the only box I'll buy from the set.
@@randomcollector2353 It is true, the X-Men Metal cards quality was definitely not up to par compared to other Upper Deck products but I'm a sucker for anything Spider-Man haha
I broke three boxes and didn’t complete the base set or get any hits like a sketch or auto. Disappointing. Your commentary is hilarious and I agree this is way too expensive.
For me not an attractive set at all. The Splashticular is very dissapointing. I will only buy a card or two of my character for my PC. I am not chasing this set.
It's a bit disapointing. I wasn't expecting much, but was excited for the chase cards. At least with the last set they had very nice foiling, sadly this time they didn't.
LOL! You are so savage when you critique cards. But I get it. I've learned not to expect quality from Annual. It's supposed to be a cheap entry product that anyone can buy. $120 may seem like a lot, but it's peanuts compared to sports card prices, TCG card prices, etc. That's why I skipped buying Annual. I just bought a few individual cards I was after, but not dropping money on a hobby box. X-Men Metal on E-Pack gives you more value for your money, or Marvel Masterpieces - though those aren't cheap but you're paying for premium quality products and they appreciate in value unlike Annual.
I know that these are their low/entry tier cards, but Upper Deck seems to lower the set quality and raise the prices whith each new annual set. I don't know about sports cards, but I think most TCG boxes are usually a bit cheaper when they are released and have a lot more cards.
Pretty underwhelming. It’s tough being a collector who’s been in the game for so long. You have to remember that the target audience doesn’t recall the majesty of the old sets.
Very bad product, I got an auto and hologram in one box and second was just a basic box. Spiderman metal is so overpriced, xmen metal is as well. Especially for what you get.
Thanks for taking the hit for those thinking of getting these boxes
Any time! ;)
Awesome show
Thanks!
"What the f*** is that image?" Lol
I appreciate your honesty
Missed you Random. Glad your are back.
Thanks, I really appreciate that!
I'm so glad your still making box break videos.
Hey, glad to see you're still around too!
Loved this review. Wtf is this wolverine hit. Lol 🤣😁
Thanks!
Why was daken black
He doesn't look black when you have the card in hand, it's probably due to lighting on the video.
@@randomcollector2353 lol
Haha i love your feedback :)
That wolverine card looks like he lost his claws, how much for the box?
I paid 120$ per box.
Watched few of your videos. Very nice. From your opinion, which year/ years of marvel annual hobby box do you think the best?

Any sellers you recommend on ebay?

Yeah, it's a bit disapointing, quality and the amount of cards you get from the annual boxes are going down, but prices are going up.
@@randomcollector2353 oh yeah it is...get ready for the Spider-Man Metal Universe..that's gonna be another expensive one as well..
@@TorkSkrewCollectables Yeah, I know. I'm one of the morons who pre-ordered a box, lol.
Would you say Marvel Trading Cards are easy to profit off of???
I'm sorry, I don't know. I don't sell cards or follow the market.
My 1st box break was pretty trash too! Underwhelming for sure. Box break 2 was much more fruitful. Hopefully you'll get some nice hits in the next box 🤞

What are the best marvel cards to break? I opened 4 packs of these the other day
In my opinion the Marvel sets from '92-'95 are the most fun to open, but they are not really valuable.
I guess it depends on what you're looking for.
The least they could do is give you a full base set in a box.
Not enough cards in a pack
I agree!
Do you remember, the 21st night of September?
Not sure what you mean?
Hoping I can buy a hobby box too and get a sketch card 🙏 I have no sketch card since starting collecting last year

It's probably better to just buy the cards you like. The Hulk Annual Impact card was one of my favorites.
Thanks for your honesty 😂
Im not touching this set at all.

I'd through this set in a fireplace.
First I need to burn through my Marvel Ages cards!

really lazy work by upper deck on this one. Not sure if someone is asleep at the wheel or just fleecing collectors because they can get away with it.
With the current state of the hobby I'm almost tempted to say it's because they can get away with it.
Get a box of dragon Ball super card game cards way better art and foil
I will probably break Dragon Ball box at some point, but I've still got enough boxes to break before looking for one.
@@randomcollector2353 I understand
Each year of annual since 2016 has been shittier than the last
Pretty underwhelming. It’s tough being a collector who’s been in the game for so long. You have to remember that the target audience doesn’t recall the majesty of the old sets.
You don't even have to go that far back. Upper Deck has produced good sets, but it really feel as if they are phoning it in with their recent sets.
Very bad product, I got an auto and hologram in one box and second was just a basic box. Spiderman metal is so overpriced, xmen metal is as well. Especially for what you get.
I agree! At least you did get some bigger hits.
Just being honest about the cards... some are really ridiculous...
This is a waste of time and money I have seen 5 videos don't buy it
