- Conor McGregor (born 14 July 1988) is an Irish professional mixed martial artist and boxer. He is a former Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) featherweight and lightweight champion. As of November 18, 2019, he is #14 in the UFC pound-for-pound rankings and #3 in the UFC lightweight rankings.
After over a year away from the Octagon, McGregor is now scheduled to face Donald Cerrone in a welterweight bout on January 18, 2020 at UFC 246.

I think Conor has some serious demons that have been kept in the dark by his team and I think that after he retires he'll write a book and all of this will make sense , but if I'm being honest I stuck by him threw alot but honestly with the allegations in Ireland and the constant erratic behavior he still doesn't seem right in my opinion and that ariel interview was very troubling to me and even his most recent interviews arent any better he's saying all the right things but there's a lack of calmness that's no longer present either way great work man once again

He was talking about fighting the winner of Diaz and Masvidal for the BMF belt because he's already fought Diaz. As far as him fighting gaethje, it's more about Conor getting rid of some ring rust before fighting the 3rd or 4th seed in his division, not because it's an *easy* fight. Gaethje isn't the number #1 contender either, that's Tony, and there's Poirier who beat gaethje.
Cowboy is tough ass fight. I think he does get hit a lot, but he's by no means a walk in the park.

Yup. This whole past year has left him really shook. Cowboy is the easiest fight possible if his goal is the BMF belt or the Khabib rematch. And, in my opinion, he's gonna get a big wake up call if/when he faces either of those 2. Nate is the easiest fight of those 3 options, so I wouldn't be surprised if Conor fights next month, wins handedly, and a Conor/Nate trilogy fight announced a month or two after.
McGregor would finish both Poirier (again) and Gaethje.
Would love to see him fight Masvidal and Nurmagomedov(again). Don't know if he could win but if he let's his hand's go ya never know.

I think Connor should get in touch with tyson fury and try to gain some wisdom from him. He's also a guy that was at the top, had a huge fall from grace and somehow managed to come out as a better man from it. After Khabib vs Tony, I think Khabib probably waits for a GSP fight, or retires. There's no one else left at that point. Machachev is on the come up, and by the end of 2020, will have potentially secured a shot at the title. By that time Khabib will be long gone.

Conor’s cardio isn’t even that bad though, he was outstriking Alvarez at a high pace for 2 rounds straight and didn’t look tired at all. He dominated Diaz in their rematch in the fourth round and the beginning of the fifth round. The only time he has gassed was in his first fight against Diaz and that was on short notice PLUS he was on antibiotics cause of his staph infection.
Against Khabib he looked good conditionally even though he was getting mauled for three rounds.
stephen hartley I wouldn’t say Conor’s cardio’s is terrible and I never said that. The point I’m making is Conor’s lethalness goes down after the second round and Cowboy starts turning it up after the second round. Conor is not really a 5-round decision type of fighter despite his razor thin win over Nate Diaz. If Conor doesn’t knock him out early, Cerrone is going to trying to take him down and if Conors tired there is little he can do to stop it. Even Diaz took Conor down and Diaz has terrible wrestling.
He got too big for his boots. I hope he comes back with a little more humility.

Wholeheartedly agree. I think his pathetic antics culminated in a serious loss of brand power and it hurt him not only in the revenue department but also in the expenses department. Once his partners and his bottom line got together to say - "you've gone WAY too far" it was the only thing powerful enough at that stage to get him to stop and truly try to repair his reputation. At not time do I believe this is about MMA for him. Its about money, power, ego and the ability to do things that the common man (where he used to be) will never dream of doing. This is the route to regain some of his brand lustre, but I have to admit that I see another, prolonged period of disgrace for him in the future again. Great pity.

I think I can see beyond the BS better than you sir; even if he is truly ashamed, he's just doing damage control to try and recapture the popularity and people's admiration and support that he crapped all over. I know people are more complex than that, but I never saw him as a good guy, not from the poisonous things he has been spewing since the start of his rise to notoriety. I've never seen him as an MMA artist, as he's been called before, but rather a BS artist, not to take away from from his very real fighting talent. And like many others good sir, you bought into it, and still do apparently. My take on this whole thing is that he's become addicted to his own notoriety, and his personality got in the way and turned his fans against him. That's what really hurts and bothers him. People no longer buying his "I just say these horrible things to get in my opponent's head but I am a respectful and nice guy" act. And then you see him on video outside of the octagon, on several occasions; and the other confirmed scummy stories regarding his marriage...Ain't reality a kick in the teeth! He won't change, but he is smart enough to change his act and say just the right things to fool you, yet again.

Then all the stuff that’s happened since is disappointing. But people can turn stuff around. I agree about Conor will be more prepared, more serious, about his next bout with Khabib, let’s say he gets passed Donald, it will probably reinforce that his hard work is paying off, and will be more dangerous than ever. However I think his problem is bigger than that, khabib is simply too big a mountain to climb, I don’t think he can out wrestle khabib, and that’s what he needs to do against an opponent that wrestles from the beginning of the fight till the end of it. The best version of Conner will loose to the best version of khabib nine times out of ten. And I think that khabib will never show up to a Conner fight in anything less than his best version. That’s my two cents.
Conor does not deserve an rematch. he never defended his belt, he hasnt won since 4 years and he got dominated. he needs an 6 to 8 fight winstreak in 155. he fights against cowboy in 170, that fight has nothing to do with khabib.
