The more I watch this the more I love it. It actually makes me feel emotional because Alexandra put her all into this competition only to be viciously trolled. In the end though she won because none of them will ever have her talent or success.
There is a lot of jealous people out there, with no talent or life. Alexandra is a fantastic entertainer, dancer 💃 and singer. Get a life people!!!

you slated dances in the past for not bringing anything knew in a show dance and in this choreography it was nothing she hadn't done before, I am not saying it wasn't good because it was and I appreciate a show dance showing how they have improved and what they have learnt but one rule for one and different for the others lol
The traditional idea of a showdance in SCD was always a tribute, a trip down the memory lane that meant SOMETHING to the celeb and the pro dancer. So many opted to repeat the moves they have done before. This is perfect example with all the razzmatazz thrown in for good measure. For me it's a perfect showdance. Alternatively, you can go full left field like what Caroline did with Pasha. But that should only be done if you are a really, really good dancer. This approach could go totally pear-shape, or rather turkey-shaped like Lisa's turkey dance with Brenden. Or the muppetgate of Colin and Ms Whiplash...
SCD Observer I completely agree however there are show dances in the past you have 'marked down' for the same reason lol so was looking forward to your comment on this lol
Yes, Nicola, it's a fine line. I know what you mean, it could be a lazy recycling of the moves or a tribute. Jay's showdance felt to me like a lazy recycling while successful showdance like Ore and Tom Chambers felt like a tribute.
SCD Observer well if showing what they have learnt and that meaning it being lazy then Alexandras should have had lower marks on your count, I love the fact it was a mixture of everything they have done and getting it on point.... It wasn't a 'typical' show dance but it was just right for Alexandra and Gorka

Strictly wins over DWTS for the show dance/freestyles. Always so creative and unique while focusing on the dancer and not having 80 troupe dancers to distract from the celeb.
Sorry but this deserved 40 this was flawless and absolutely stunning Alexandra you should win you've done so well to get this far and you are a joy to watch every week

R M yes I absolutely agree with you evil on another level re trolls towards this lady, the hate she receives on The Daily Mail newspaper is appalling too. They hate her because she cried and FELT emotions about her Mum.... some commenting saying “so what we’ve all lost someone” Really REALLY disturbed individuals venting their hate on her. I wanted Alexandra to win but she did an excellent job and worked very hard on all their routines, Joe did a great job to and I was happy he won. Some folk are just pure evil end of ... 😉💓🎄🌟👍
Haven't read any of the hate mail, but know about it and have felt so sorry for Alex, it's an entertainment show, why do people get so upset? Yes she is a fine dancer who gave her all, as they all did, but Joe entertained me the most.

I am sorry alexandra didn't win because she was the most consistent and best dancer, however if it could not be alexandra with the glitterball I am glad for joe who improved each and every week and I loved his dances tonight , still sad for alexandra tho☺

I can’t believe she didn’t win! I loved Joe but she was always my favourite since day 1 and this just shows how amazing this is and people are just too harsh on her because she’s a black, confident famale and she apparently “dramatic” which I think is absolutely stupid and hurtful! She deserved that trophy so much!

Eilidh C i don't think it's fair to bring race into it. undoubtedly alexandra was the best but just because people didn't warm to her, it can't be branded racism. i liked her - but others have different opinions.
Its most likely because she has a performers background and joe didn't have any previous dance career. Race has nothing to do with it. She's amazing but in the end it's the publics vote and joe did an amazing job too. They all did, no one in the final was guaranteed to win they all had a shot whether the chances were larger or slimmer but it was never 0%
It has nothing to do with the fact that she's black, it's because she's more fake than Kim K's butt and she has had professional dance experience before, which is unfair.
This was media sabotage from the start. Unfortunately, all the lies and bullying by the media have been taken on board by that gullible section of the public, and they have followed along like sheep.

Reminds me of Jay and Aliona's showdance... revisiting all of their dances. Great dance but I wanted a bit more, can't put my finger on it.

An excellent Showdance. A definite 40, but for me personally, I would have liked to have seen a more Latin inspired routine. Latin is the type of dance that sums up her Strictly story. Her Paso Doble, Salsa, Argentine Tango, Samba, Jive and Charleston were all extremely fabulous. I still loved this dance though. A 10 from me
Just a tiny observation (correct me if I’m wrong) did she get on the wrong foot at 0:51 because if she did it’s a 9 but other than that this was a cracking dance!!

This just didn’t wow me. It’s competent, it’s fast but there seems no grab for the audience or memorable moment. If it doesn’t connect with the audience at home or capture their imagination your sunk. We’ve seen it happen to so many people over the years.
It’s such a shame as Alexandra has been fantastic all season. Knowing that Joe and Katya had 3 hugely memorable fun routines on the night and had never been in the bottom two I’d have been tempted to try a show stopping lift in there or even play more to the camera to try and get the connection.
That being said the Jive that followed was the dance of the night for me.
Whatever dance Alexandra was up against she gave her all- as Len would say.

The lifts were a bit heavy, the swivel a little laboured and the jazz swipes were a little too aggressive. But wow the energy! 9

It was lacking a little bit of the wow factor, there were a lot of steps from their previous dances (Argentine Tango, Cornerstone and Quickstep), it wasn't something completely new. The lifts were a little bit heavy. Haven't said that, it was a great show dance, effortless, vibrant, of a very strong quality. A 9.

Nah it was decent but scrappy, prefer Joe's and even Gemma's actually - she really surprised me in the final!
