Sounds like you may be German by your accent. Your trains are the most prewar examples I've ever seen. Thanks for posting. Danke.

All of you videos are amazing and I love your working layout. I just picked up a 1688 Columbia but it has a 1689W tender. Would you know if it's mix-matched? Thanks and keep posting these excellent videos.

Some of the locos were sold with a 1689W tender through the entire production period from 1936 to 40, the others with the 1689T.

@@johnknippenberg-LandmarkYards In the 1937 catalog, they offered the standard set (Loco, tender, cars, transformer and track) for 8.95 and a whistle set with whistle tender and transformer with whistle control for 12.75. Quite a lot more. I wonder how many spend the extra money just to listen to the whistle. I was curious myself to look it up.

@@classiclioneltrains5977 Awesome information, thanks again! That was back when $1 would actually buy something, the good old days.

You said What. ? You might try respecting the collectors of toy trains instead of comparing toy train collecting to scale model railroading. They both have there place and they are the reason all facets of the hobby make this hobby the best. Any fool can be critical,it requires neither time nor talent.
