  • I needed to build a router table for some molding work on my new space and don't have time to build a big one so I made this easy-to-build router table with a couple of cool tricks up its sleeves.

Finally a "doable" fence project, without complicating too much. Thanks a lot. Saved video!

What I enjoyed about your video is that you call it a DIY video and you don't need a workshop full of expensive tools to make it.
So far I watched half a dozen videos to make router tables and with the exception of yours they all have huge workshops and thousands of dollars worth of tools.
If I had thousands of dollars worth of tools I probably wouldn't be watching DIY stuff!
    Thanks again

The timing of this post is perfect! I've been clamping my router to my workbench upside down and just using the regular faceplate. We were finally called out for it in our latest video. Looks like I'm making one of your router tables.

Thanks Izzy. You proved that one doesn't need a fancy faceplate, fancier fence and most fancy tracks to make a router do what you want !!

Recently I've watched loads of DIY router tables; this is the first I've seen with the swinging fence rather than a parallel fence. This looks so much easier to set up. I'll watch it again a few times as I feel I'm missing something compared with all the other parallel fences !!! It's certainly a novel idea. Cheers Izzy.

Great vid, I have a Bosch router and a small shop so this will work great for me. I can leave the fixed base permanently mounted in the table and use the plunge base for hand routing. Liked the blues harp as well. Thanks for thinking of us small shop guys.

Greetings from Northern Ireland. I just love your videos. I love that your videos are real, not fanboy bullish!t for Red tools or Yellow tools. It is great to see stuff that real world hobbyists can do and afford.
Also that you can actually do the stuff for real and not just talk about it. Keep it going. Love it !

Very cool Izzy. My only hack would be to make the fence base out of 3/4 stock or two layers of 1/2” so you can hold the “faces” up 1/8” or so off the table surface as a sawdust relief. Been doing that on all my shopmade stuff - it eliminated the problem of sawdust buildup wrecking my cuts.

Just watched this video, and while watching it, thought I won’t try this build as the fence is only held one end! However once you demonstrated how it works, I was blown away by how clever it really is, especially cutting curves. You should patent the design.
