    One thing to consider...uprate the brakes! The discs are stamped with 'resin pad only'
    I would bin them and upgrade to decent brake discs and sintered brake pads...better for higher speeds.

    Sorry for your loss. We just recently lost our g.shepperd Snow. Hits harder than most may think.
    For the rotor bolts, since the torque is 6nm, you could shave/grind the heads to flatten them and get a little more clearance. Maybe be an option to try.

    I lost Shadow, my previous Am. Bulldog to cancer to, was such a shitty situation really it took the previous owner to come visit and tell me how much weight he lost the last couple of weeks before the doc eventually said the cancer had spread and there was not much he could do ( besides amputating a leg / hip, it was bone cancer ).
    Took me a couple of months to get my bearing after that, but I'm happy Diesel my current dog came across my path.

      Sorry for your lost...what's up with all our dogs getting sick from this cancer. Wow I thought it was just me and my cousin but it's becoming more and more of the norm now. Do you think it can be something in the food we feeding our dogs. Or do you think it can be something the Vet mite be shooting our dogs up with. My dog has gotten her yearly shots since she came into this world. She just missed this year. She was suppose to get her shots in March bit that's when I started having my surgeries and I was down. I don't know guys what you all think. So for all your losses. I hate to hear that. I look for my "Remy" to comfort me when I'm home. I'm use to walking in the house and getting mauled with slobbery kisses and hugs. Remy grab my leg and won't let go as to say you not going back out that door mister!😁If something happen to her I don't know what I'm going to do without her she's my baby. 🙏♥️💯

      @@Dmlowe1969 I think cancer is becoming more prevalent because dogs live in the same environment we do. And more and more dogs grow to their old age due to better animal healthcare in general, so I think we're seeing an increasingly elder dog population with it's associated health risks like cancer.
      I certainly will take a veterinary shots when needed, it's more the pricing which would make me pauze then a lack of trust.
      Those 1 year shots protect your dog against Parvo, Hepatitis, Distemper, Leptospirosis and Kennelcough. Don't skip on it, or well if you have missed it due to circumstances talk with the vet about if/when to get it anyway later.
      Vaccinations are a good thing, and certainly don't cause cancer ( or autism... ).

    60 amp controller x 84V at full charge ~ 5040 watt ( thank you mr pedantic for noticing my obvious ffin typo mr smartypants )
    60 amp controller x 72V nominal voltage ~ 4320 watt
    Explains why they market it as 4kw but indeed capable of much more.

    • @Calthecool
      @Calthecool Місяць тому +3

      How did you get 60 * 84 = 5400? And that’s not even how you calculate the max power, there’s always some voltage drop so the absolute highest voltage you can assume is 80V.

    • @MarvinWestmaas
      @MarvinWestmaas Місяць тому +3

      @@Calthecool It was a spelling mistake, it's obviously 5040.
      'There is always voltage drop' yeah but voltage drop isn't universal certainly not when talking about different chemistry and pack configurations. Theoretical max power a better description for you?
      ps I like you scooters ;)

    • @Calthecool
      @Calthecool Місяць тому +1

      @@MarvinWestmaas Even if you have a magical battery chemistry that has no voltage drop it will still have voltage drop in the wires. You could call it “theoretical max power”, but I still think that gives it too much credit that it could actually output that amount of power.

    • @MarvinWestmaas
      @MarvinWestmaas Місяць тому +1

      @@Calthecool I just never assume something can reach it's theoretical max, but I still use it even if only for reference.
      All chemistry has some drop, but it varies in combination with the type of load you're putting on it. Voltage drop along the length of wiring we're using should be negligible unless their using to low high gauge wiring, there are plenty of charts covering this ( but they mostly cover pretty low amps ).
      ( edit: .. well actually, that chart indicates that voltage drop isn't negligible at all, considering the amount of amps we're pulling. )
      That's also why I just use 100% soc voltage and rated nominal amperage this should give a theoretical max nominal wattage.
      It would peak even higher, but the controller doesn't list max peak so how high who knows. With this I mean that the controller has a nominal amp rating of 60A, that doesn't mean it won't peak higher for short intervals.
      Anyway, you should obviously know all this already, so I'm not even sure why I'm writing this down ( preaching to the choir we call it ). It's that I think scooters are a death trap waiting to happen, but I really like your Razor build. Should practice your welding a bit more and you'll be able to manufacture things for others ( and have them pay handsomely for it ;) ).

    • @Calthecool
      @Calthecool Місяць тому +2

      @@MarvinWestmaas thanks for the compliment. I would like to get better at welding, but I don’t really do it enough to get enough practice. I did actually sell the first custom ebike I made and the guy who bought it loves it. I would love to just spend all day building stuff like that but I have to focus on college and family right now so I usually end up rushing builds on the weekend so they sometimes aren’t as good as they could be.

    30:51 you know what, I would try grinding down those heads. At half their height they should offer enough griping area to be able to mount or dismount the brake disc when needed.
    If that fails, I would look for m3 bolts with no head but an allen key insert I seen them before and you can get them with very shallow heads, the only question would be if you could torque those to spec.

    Problem is the battery gets attention of plod due to its shape being a triangle. As UNIT PACK POWER was the main seller of triangle batteries till they were banned a few months ago by the UK GOV due to the amount of fires they caused. But plod know triangle battery = DIY build & 99% of the time gonna be an illegal bike. Just look at news reports most the time whenever they show an e-bike being stopped it has a triangle battery. Id love order the 60V to go on my 1500-2000W kit replacing the 52V but with commuting in Central London the amount of stops ive seen & the amount of the bikes ive seen stopped having triangle batteries its not worth the risk

    THE FRONT RIM IS WAY TO THIN AT THOSE SPEEDS

    • @DudeStuff
      @DudeStuff  Місяць тому +9

      Thanks for the input! Just to clarify, fat bike wheels are generally built a bit wider and sturdier than standard wheels, which is exactly why they’re suited to handle a bit more, especially on smoother surfaces like roads. The wider rim not only adds stability but is also designed to accommodate the larger tires, which helps absorb shocks and impacts. I’ve done loads of conversions on regular bike wheels without any issues, and those don’t even have the added benefits of a fat tire setup.
      Plus, most of the weight and stress is on the back wheel where the motor is mounted, so the front rim isn't carrying as much of a load. Since I'm not planning to take this setup off-road, I think it should hold up just fine at these speeds. Thanks for the comment, though!

      Looks a rip off for 1600-1800 for a generic 250w ebike I don't think it's worth more than a grand but companies out there like electroh**ds ripping people off 😀

    Nice bike. Need full motorbike gear with helmet and a metal skid plate that completely covers the battery. Don't want to be skiddign down the road and the plastic battery cover rips off then the batteries ignite

    4k watts in BHP is 3.75 - The e bike weighs half as much as your standard 50cc motorbike. Fast!

      I’ve got a 50cc 4 stroke scooter that is derestricted in the transmission and it can only do 39mph while weighing 120kg. The v5 claims the maximum power is 2.2KW.

    Any e bike without torque sensing isn't for cyclists, but big up the High wattage e bike gang.

    • @ramborambokitchenkitchen6357
      @ramborambokitchenkitchen6357 Місяць тому +2

      Torque sensor on fast ebikes is rubbish because you can’t keep up with the pedalling. Even with a 52T on the front I’m out of gear at 32mph.

    You should wear more protection. Would you run as fast as you can (15 - 20 mph) into a wall or throw yourself onto the ground? No, because it would hurt! At 30mph you have a 50-50 chance of life changing injuries. At 60mph you'll be visiting your maker! I came off at just 14mph after hitting oil on the road - it would've been far worse if I hadn't been wearing elbow protectors as these wore through as I slid along. I'm going to upgrade to hard shell pads and hip protection. Great project - keep safe!

  • @MarvinWestmaas
    @MarvinWestmaas Місяць тому +1

    Alright lol, this thing is a BEAST. But it's not an ebike lol, this is an e-moped with pedals. Heck. you couldn't even register it as a moped if you wanted without downtuning it lots.

    • @ramborambokitchenkitchen6357
      @ramborambokitchenkitchen6357 Місяць тому +1

      Mopeds are defined in law as up to 4kw of power and up to 30mph. This thing as it is now would be in the same category as a 125cc bike if I’m not mistaken.

    • @MarvinWestmaas
      @MarvinWestmaas Місяць тому +1

      @@ramborambokitchenkitchen6357 Yeah this isn't EAPC compliant lol..
      And you can't even try L6e, it's just to damn fast so it legally is 100% a motorcycle.
