Tricycles goes Jerusalem!

Dutch artist André Kodde goes to Jerusalem and takes his tricycle project along with him. In Israel he will create three fierce red bikes. As soon as the bikes are ready, he will challenge Israeli, Palestinians and 'outsiders' at the spot to simultaneously recite a 'poem for peace' in Hebrew, Arabic and English. Different from the versions he made in Holland earlier on and which speed up according to vocal power, this bikes will ride faster according to how fast and rhythmic the courier speaks. So: who will finish first? Who is right?
This new work is based on the Palestinian- Israeli conflict and will visualise the different media views on the conflict, to accentuate both tragic and surreal characteristics. However selective and influenced by local political preferences, the media enable people all over the world to keep track on what happens in Israel as if it were a staged performance. By actually transforming the conflict into a live performance, this phenomenon is now made visible and easily comprehensible for any audience.
The tricycles project raises questions and gives new insights, which will hopefully lead to some change of attitude and a raised awareness concerning this drawn-out conflict.
