  • Footage from the final day of the Great North Steam Fair at Beamish 'The Living Museum of the North' on Sunday 14th April 2019. Footage is focused around the Pit Village where a 15inch gauge line was in operation featuring visiting motive power from the Ravenglass and Eskdale Railway on a specially laid line on a Colliery Line siding.
River Irt and Katie run the shuttles on the 15 inch gauge line, while on the 2ft gauge line we see Samson and the NRM's WD Simplex. Standard gauge wise on the Colliery Railway Lewin and Coffee Pot where in action, while at Rowley station Peckett 2000 was hauling passenger trains.
We also feature a range of traction engines and vintage vehicles making their way around the site.

    Thanks for the wonderful video!
I'll never get to the UK (too old), but if I did, Beamish would be top of my very long list.

I love the shot at 0:28, with the 15" and standard gauge trains, and the tram going over in the background, and a Ferguson tractor coming by.

Made in 1871 I think , all its working life , some 80 years it worked at Dorking Grey Stone and Lime at Betchworth. I live in Thailand so will not see working but I do have a B&W photo given to me by the driver's wife many years ago. I agree it does sound like it is going fast. Was at the back of the engine shed in 1958 when I saw it , behind Baxter of the Bluebell Railway.
