This video shows a series of small lava flow breakouts.
They were occurring from the outer edges of a massive 2-mile-wide flow.
It rained most of the night into the day.
This might be what gave the lava flow lobes more of a vibrant and detailed appearance.
I chose not to edit out all of my movements so you get an idea of where I am and how the small flows had to be navigated.
The outer casing of the GoPro did melt some more. It's melted often but, the lens remains unharmed. 2000-degree lava came within a few inches several times.
    Tough little cameras.
Images from this outing were shot with a Nikon D800.
They can be viewed and purchased on my website.
My favorite shot from that outing can be seen here. #488c.

It's best to visit my blog for information on this series of videos. They are based on 7.5 months of hiking to the lava flows. The videos show some of what I experienced. Lots had to be left out to keep the videos near the 10-minute length.
I shot enough video to do a 4 part mini-series. All 2 hours long.
Not looking to be critiqued. It's a documentary of an area changing for the first time in 30 years.
There are links back to each of the videos in this series.
