Talked to my son today. His homeowners insurance has doubled. Doubled since last year, since he and his wife have had this ins, several years, they’ve had one claim- it was for a roof from the storms that went thru last year. A lot of us got new roofs. For a young family, this is a lot, it wouldn’t be so bad, but everything else we buy, has gone up too.

People who have been waiting on the sidelines for a housing crash missed out on low payments and rates. Both are great hedges against inflation. Several decades ago the federal government told citizens to learn how to live on a budget. Maybe the government should have taken their own advice. My budget is that bills get paid before any money is spent on anything else, including food. It’s tough but doable w some intestinal fortitude and a willingness to to make good n prudent choices. People are pulling money out of bonds due to lower rates and chasing after stocks with dividends. The problem is, if market falls they will have major liquidity issues
As long as you don't buy stocks on margin and do not have debt, you cannot have liquidity issues.
If you have money market and earn interest, use the interest to buy high div stocks and then reinvest into low stable div stocks.....

My Yield on Cost is over 13.5% and is finally outpacing inflation. The stock prices fluctuate but on the overall the divs have been steady or growing due to inflation.....
