I appreciate your English and you speak it well. Nice rebuild. That’s incredible piston shape for 200hrs ! I did my yz250x at 100hrs and it needed it. So depends on how and where people ride. 👍
Dont worry about your english. Your videos are super helpful. So keep up the good work. Especially the maintanance and review after this many hours videos are helpfull
What two stroke oil are you using and at what ratio.? Also any spark plug oiling issues ,if so, did the leaner jetting stop the plug oiling? Thanks for a great video.
interesting question, most OEM parts i get from my Sherco Dealer in Croatia. But most parts are same like on other bikes, brake pads are same like on KTM, chain and sprockets are from Husqvarna, KYB suspension is like on Japan bikes. Clutch plates are from Honda CRF450 02-2018. I think brake discs are from KX250 but i am not 100% sure. There are few online shops where you can find parts like greenlandmx.com
My piston had more blow by after 118hrs...but most likely been revved more throughout its life... i would suggest to at least measure cylinder and if needed get it honed for B piston. I put always new bolts and washers on head and cylinder. Best to clean and check powervalve when you have cylinder on table...
i did clean powervalve because of the carbon on it, but i dont record all for youtube. Also that stuff was so dirty after that i cant touch the camera haha so i dont record it .
Nice video, your English is better than sum Americans. No worries. Do you have any experience with Rieju (GasGas) bikes? Are they underpowered compared to the field? It's difficult to find 300's in my area that aren't clapped out but I could get a brand new Reiju for a very reasonable price.
I didn't notice any power reduction, know some guys running one piston for more than 500 hours. But from experience and suggestion from other racers around 200 is really safe to change it. I know manual will say around 40-80hrs and other enduro shops will say around 100hrs that is just to taker your money, so you need change it more often.
no, 200hrs is twice over limit recommended by piston manufacturer, stress of material can cause catastrophic piston failure, not just excessive cylinder wear...
you need change piston before it breaks, that can last for 200hours, 500 or 1000hrs. People always talk about cylinder wear, guys are thinking there is no cylder wear unit you go over 100h with piston and then its starting to wear the cylinder. Its important to dont rev cold engine and to have good piston rings and then wear is minimum. If you are good with bike and not reving too much it can last hours and hours. I dont want to change my pistons before 150 hours. Only i did it on my CRF250 but on that bike i needed every 90-100hrs because it wears fast.. on enduro bikes its different story
@@TheDirtbikeRider Okay, Thanks. Was looking at TSE250R. No one has given me a specific answer as to how long it could go. It just scares me when they say it is not a concern.
Yep true, but i don't suggest washing with pressure near seals, i got over 200 hours on wheel bearings. Also when i ride in deep water i remove wheels after i come to home and i clean all.
High performance stihl and husqvarna chainsaws go no telling how many hrs before failing. And turning 8000 to 10000 n cuts all day long. Quality made stuff last longer
i can second that, more responsive and better reving engine...i ride 250 AND will get another 250...i do not race hard enduros tho, only hare and hounds and planing to race time card enduros next season...
The valve stem tool trick for the circlips is awesome! I can't believe I haven't seen that before
yep its really nice trick, glad you like it

Right on! also depends on lot of thing and sometimes luck. But jetting, clean air filer, not overheating are most important things
@@TheDirtbikeRider yeah I think if I would have stayed off the Mx tracks I could have pushed my rebuild much further 👌
Keep in mind your comparing a motor from a MX bike to a purely enduro bike. I think 100 hours is reasonable for your bike.
I found keeping the dust out and fresh fuel oil mix ,dust going through old filters wear pistons pretty quick

Thank you very much!
thank you for your videos! it’s really very helpful and a lot of useful information below in the comments! Would like to see next part about starter.
Mind 🤯 over the use of the valve stem tool!
That is awesome! Might just do my top end now before I forget!
What two stroke oil are you using and at what ratio.? Also any spark plug oiling issues ,if so, did the leaner jetting stop the plug oiling? Thanks for a great video.
i use motul 710 , 6l fuel to 100ml oil. And my jetting is leaner compared to book, but its not lean its perfect in book its just too rich settings.
Would love to see you working on other tiny holes
Noted! i will wait you hahaha
piston looks amazing for 200 hours !!
You can ride brother!
Great bike 🏍!
English is great. That piston looks really good for the hours on it! How often did you boil over the coolant?
I didn't sherco is really good when it comes to boiling, it has overflow tank and good radiators with fan so i didnt had that problem
My friend how are u , hope ur fine. Hey, my bike as 170h now maybe I wiull change piston but do you thing i have to change de connecting rod ?
Cheers
i think you need just replace piston ! the connection rod is lasting 500hours minimum
Which is the best site/source for spare parts for sherco in Europe ?
Enduro2Racing and Schwabe Motorsport

dude thanks for this video you are the best!
Very informative video. Thank you for posting it.
Glad it was helpful!
Could you please send a link for the shoe dryer ? Thanks
Can you ? 🤔
Thanks for te video. One thing, why have not you put the piston B?
No need this time, next change i will go for B. Enduro bikes are getting super hot so small clearance can cause damage on piston.

How did you know if to use A or B piston?

Yes I have, they are really good bikes. Great power only the issue is electric starter
Did you notice any reduction in power? Could you let it for more hours? Thank you for your videos!

If you compression test. Shouldn't there be a slight drop prior to needing replacement?

Super! tnx
why you dont have 300ccm
250 is more fun because is asking for more revs RPM and more clutch skills. But next bike i will get 300 because i was riding 250cc for last few years

Would have been better if you did not wipe your old piston so we could see how much blow-by there was, Thanks.
i didn't cleaned it, piston is how i removed it from bike..
No lavaste el cilindro para colocarlo
