I've been studying Chinese for some years now and have been studying from Elementary Chinese Reader and now I'm retired intend to try to study all of the books as I have a lot of time now 🙂I did like the piece you had written in Han zi at 3:08 and was able to read and thought the red highlights of the words was very helpful you have clearly learnt a good deal congratulations . For example the first sentence says "I have studied Chinese language for two years ", "le" makes it in the past tense or means you have completed the action . Second sentence reads "2020 year 10th month 18th day ", I must have learnt to read more than I realised . Thanks for the opportunity to practice translating this . Best wishes from England .
It took me around 2 years just because I stopped for a while and then picked it back up. I’d say one year or less is how much time it would take if you didn’t take any breaks : )

My problem is not about remember the characters, it's all about recognizing and identifying the characters.

Not being facetious, but just read more. I don't speak chinese but I do speak Japanese and I just had to grind reading. It worked
