Dougie made great strides this year from being a marginal NBA player mostly at the end of the bench during his rookie year to being a solid role player off the bench. If he wants to be a solid NBA starter with a long career he's going to have to make similar strides this summer and fall with his training. He lost a bit of his Creighton baby fat but now he needs to really take his fitness to the next level to maximize his strength and athleticism and stay healthy and consistent over the course of the season. He needs to develop go to post moves and work on his defensive position and angles. He'll probably never be a great NBA defender but he can improve and be less of a liability on that side of the floor.
He's doing what Jimmy did. Start off on the bench as a role player and by year 3 start full time and then take off. He could have started this year. But only if he learned how to take a charge. I've seen way too many people trying to run him over. Guys don't do that too often to players that are known to take charges. That could have got him in the starting 5
+James Johnson if he only picked that up from Mike from watching. I always see him in the position to take a charge but he ends up swiping at the ball and getting called for a foul instead.
is it just me or does his play style really symbol something that would work amazingly with golden state like seriously he's way ahead in finding space already for a player who hasn't been in very long cuts well shoots amazingly like golden state would love this dude and he's consistent
exactly he actually has the same vertical as Westbrook mcdermott is MUCH more athletic then people gave him credit more far more athletic ad he can improve his athleticism even more if he works hard enough. and improve D at least a little bit for him to be a starter
For a 6'9 guy... Yea that's big time considering nba average height is 6'7 and nba average vert is like 26" I think. But people criticized him for not being athletic enough when he was being drafted... Classic NBA racial profiling if you ask me. Just like people always assume that if you're black you jump out of the gym but don't have understanding of the game. People are full of shit in the sports community.
As a knick fan I gotta say I had no idea Doug McDermott could throw down highlight dunks. He and Kanter were role players on OKC but on ny it becomes a little more interesting as they could compete for real playing time. Good luck fellas!
Bulls should've traded Butler for Lavine and Dunn when they had the chance. They could've had a young core of PG Dunn SG LaVine/Valentin SF McDermott PF Portis/Mirotoc C Lopez/Gibson
Offensive skill wise, their isn't anything Klay Thompson can do that Doug McDermott cant. Doug cant play defensive like Klay, but at the offensive side he can be his equal if given the opportunity.
Hey this is kinda off but do you take requests because I would like a Kyle singler or Luke Babbitt season highlights? Let me know, keep up the great work!
i think he improve at least a little bit with hard work mcdermott will be training with butler again so i KNOW butler is gonna help him get a least a little better on D cause i know mcdermott looks up to butler A LOT
lamo lol i was dying that day lol. but he has the offensive potential no doubt. just needs to get better on D overall doesn't have to be a lockdown guy but just has to improve enough
Targkm Kram you must have never seen Bird play... McDermott couldn't hold Birds jock strap.. why do you make the comparison to Bird? because he is white?
+Jose Fierro Avila NOT off the dribble Like Paul Pierce All his highlights were Off screen Spot up or One dribble Pull Up No Crossover To get his own shot Nothin
+Melvin Vernell I know what your saying, but as a Bulls fan I've seen McDermott play a lot more and he could create his own shot. He has the fadeaway and step back mastered and beats his man a lot of times. You don't just become a top 5 college scorer of all time by just catch and shoot or screens. Pierce was a beast tho
DOUGIEE!!! LOL one of my fav players AND i'm a Thunder fan, dream come true! welcomeee to OKC
Yup, he's a sniper from the 3.

He's such an underrated player Spurs should consider him
You are a damn prophet lol
4rel WOW spurs got him now
Now he’s with the Spurs lol
is it just me or does his play style really symbol something that would work amazingly with golden state like seriously he's way ahead in finding space already for a player who hasn't been in very long cuts well shoots amazingly like golden state would love this dude and he's consistent
He loves that back door cut😂 future all-star
Dougie had some nasty dunks last season... he's got nice hops
Welcome to New York!
ManzanaCity welcome to dallas
Sneaky hops? Dude has a 36.5" vert. That's not sneaky. That's in your face.
exactly he actually has the same vertical as Westbrook mcdermott is MUCH more athletic then people gave him credit more far more athletic ad he can improve his athleticism even more if he works hard enough. and improve D at least a little bit for him to be a starter
+Jesse Alcantar don't run out A vertical is one Thing compared to in game Off the dribble Expolsivness He NO where near has the same Hops as Westbrook
agreed but he still got some hops pretty good athlete
+Jesse Alcantar yea He a Wayy better athlete then given credit For I really hope He Ball out this year I really Like Dougie Fresh Game
For a 6'9 guy... Yea that's big time considering nba average height is 6'7 and nba average vert is like 26" I think. The best shooter in the NBA to me!
with Rondo on the assist like what he did with Rayray what a thing of beauty if Doug always open for a shot..
As a knick fan I gotta say I had no idea Doug McDermott could throw down highlight dunks. He and Kanter were role players on OKC but on ny it becomes a little more interesting as they could compete for real playing time. Good luck fellas!
I love McDermott

Love mcBuckets, Hate the Bulls hahaha, great video man. Can you do Boban Marjanovic?
Bulls should've traded Butler for Lavine and Dunn when they had the chance. They could've had a young core of
PG Dunn
SG LaVine/Valentin
SF McDermott
PF Portis/Mirotoc
C Lopez/Gibson
bjsw534 I agree,Jimmy Butler isn't a player who can lead a team to the playoffs.
bjsw534 wow and they actually did
Sergio Zavaleta lmaooo
Welcome to OKC!!
Offensive skill wise, their isn't anything Klay Thompson can do that Doug McDermott cant. Doug cant play defensive like Klay, but at the offensive side he can be his equal if given the opportunity.
Hey i was just wondering if you can make the 2016 isaiah thomas highlight vid soon, been waiting a while. Thanks!
Hey this is kinda off but do you take requests because I would like a Kyle singler or Luke Babbitt season highlights? Let me know, keep up the great work!
Really solid player.
Welcome to the Thunder baby!
Welcome to NY
Could care less about how many games the Bulls win this year. I'm looking to the future with Bobby and Dougie. They both have a real bright future.
speedgo41 doug is gone but you guys got amo and Payne
Daniel E. That trade sucked. Should've at least gotten a first round pick instead of a second.
welcome to okc hope you start SF
the bulls arena music playlists slick 🔥 😂
He gonna be big for us !!!! Hope he is ready to see how loud it is in the Peake !!!!
I've heard people include McDermott in the discussion for all time greatest college player.
yeah his career at creighton was something special
Great SF, go Bulls.
I love how McDermott replaced Kyle Korver as "hotsauce" that the announcer always says
McDermotts been doing fade aways since college

Can you do simmons or anderson from spurs?
Yeah he should start, dunleavy can come off the bench he is 34 already I think.
Welcome to New York
3:15 dougie moved to London with the euro step
If Dougie has any problems with that Chicago gig, he should call Golden State. I'll tell you one person he won't call: Tom Thib.
He would be on the warriors NBDL team, but the Bulls need him as a starter :(
Man, this dude can shoot. Good chance he really breaks out this year.
Now can we get a highlights video on his defence, as well? Oh, wait.
i think he improve at least a little bit with hard work mcdermott will be training with butler again so i KNOW butler is gonna help him get a least a little better on D cause i know mcdermott looks up to butler A LOT
Jesse Alcantar I know he looks up to him. I just think he misses that awareness Hopefully he really can change that this offseason.
agree he always be ball watching all the time and also needs to so a better job moving his feet on D
Jesse Alcantar Glad we agree. Because that Reggie Jackson crossover @ home, was just too hopeless, for me.
lamo lol i was dying that day lol. but he has the offensive potential no doubt. just needs to get better on D overall doesn't have to be a lockdown guy but just has to improve enough
Welcome to the knicks!!!!
All he has to do is improve his defense.
We don't have Rose anymore, but we have Nikola, Portis, McBuckets, and Butler
And wade and rondo
and valentine
MCDERMOTT WILL AVERAGE 25+ PER GAME IF HE WILL BE IN THE LINEUP!
Welcome to okc, sir

+Ross Pusey He's ready this year we're gonna see Jabari unleashed kinda
The next Klay???
mcbuckets!
they need to have oladipo backing him up he should start
better to have him than Korver
Yea korver isn't in his prime anymore
he's my gym teacher
Next Larry Bird
+Targkm Kram mix with Larry Jhonson ....hahahaha
I thought the same thing
fuck no
Targkm Kram
you must have never seen Bird play...
McDermott couldn't hold Birds jock strap..
why do you make the comparison to Bird? because he is white?
Jersey Chris there's only about 10 living players that could hold his jockstrap. If that...
Welcome to ny
he plays a lot like paul pierce
But more athletic and better handles
+Jose Fierro Avila hell No Paul Had handles What you smoking McDermott can't create his OWN shot yet
+Melvin Vernell McDermott is a top 5 college scorer of all time..... He could create his own shot
Pierce was a beast tho
needs to get stronger and work on post game
+Jimmy Jones I agree. The stronger he gets the less "sneaky" his hops will be.
He's like Kyle Korver.
kyle korver that drives inside
Lionel Messi
why? because he is white?
he needs to work on his defense
poor man's klay thompson
Can't really compare him to Klay
+Kyle Dalton yeah he's not even half the player klay is
KNICKS TAPE BITCHES!!!!
Dallas did you need another weak white boy shooter???
he needs to leave the bulls
Nooo lol We need him :(
No way fuck off
nikesh sarki lol
+Jimmy Jones we need him 😅😆
