If you’re looking for tasteful graffiti I have some suggestions. I’m currently writing a paper on Ancient Graffiti and it was more common for ancient graffiti to be nice greetings and well wishes than it was to see hateful or mean writings. This is likely due to graffiti being a more acceptable way to leave messages, and not just seen as defacing something. With that said, ancient Roman graffiti writers in Pompeii were very fond of using the word “vale” and it was often shortened to “val” or “va”. This translates roughly as a blessing of “good fortune and safe travels” much like the word “goodbye” or “farewell” originally meant and the shortened versions are much like the modern English “bye”. There are many other common phrases used in the graffiti that carry similar meaning and I think it could be neat to include in graffiti on the factory. If you’re willing I could even send some images of what the writing looked like in the original Greek carvings to make it appear even more abstract and yet still hold a pleasant meaning.
Fun fact! Ancient Graffiti has the earliest known depiction of the historical Jesus as a joke against his followers, notably being a satirical depiction of a donkey headed man being crucified

Which is annoying as you don't get many pinches outdoors! I'm not massively interested in pushing my grades hard (although leading an outdoors 7a would be nice). When I started climbing I was super unfit, so I'm happy with my progress. My main goal is to get outdoors, and do some bigger multipitch objectives at comfortable grades!

That's the point. Your first draft isn't actually there to get anything done or to be good. It's there to exist, to start your brain thinking and fixing it up. That's the beauty of creating
I love how much you are showing the process of your builds this season with the concept art, the Art of Hermitcraft video, and this build. I enjoyed seeing the factory's basic structure take shape and am excited to see it completed in a future episode!
Something I've noticed that I really like is how there's background music when you talk. It helps break up long stretched of talking in my brain by how some areas are just talking and some are mixed with music. It's such a simple thing that probably takes a bunch of time editing in but I love it so much.
Mumbo, what a cool build!! I like the way everything is coming together. Right at the end when you talked about power lines, it made me think of Aerial Marker Balls, which hang in the canyons of Colorado! “The main purpose of the marker balls is so that helicopters and low-flying planes don't hit electrical wires. They are an extra precaution since ‘anything that flies’ isn't supposed to fly lower than the electrical towers.” They look like giant buoys, look them up! 🟠🟡⚪️ I thought it would be funny to add these to power lines and Hermits aren’t allowed to fly below them. Excited to see what you do next.
For future reference for the section around 16:20 I recall Bdubs in a video detailing smoother transitions using colored glass panes, stairs, fences, and walls to ease transitions, if you're looking to incorporate even more of those features. Loving the look of the build!
Honestly, I do love how Joel’s build gets more complex the more he moves closer to Mumbo’s, because when it does divide, it will be similar to Japan in how, outside of the large metroplexes it’s mostly those small towns that fill out the rest of the countryside (yes, I watch abroad in Japan, how can you tell?)
17:00 this, this is the scenario where vertical slabs would be perfect. But mojang is under the impression we can already make that shape for some reason. If those planks were vertical slabs the lip wouldn’t be so obtrusive.
For the texturing in the off-white parts of the build, in addition to the other blocks you've used, you could potentially add stripped pale oak logs and pale oak planks. I find they look really good for that type of thing and might help with what you're going for. Love the content. Keep it up!
I like the slow building, hearing your thought process as opposed to a timelapse. Definitely get to know the build more as a viewer rather than it just appearing and now being in the background of a video.

13:19 Mumbo and Bdubs admiring each other after Mumbo released his second channel video (you know which one) is just so beautiful. I believe Bdubs’ quote was “That is a true Renaissance Man”. They are both are operating on such a scale that you just don’t see on Minecraft UA-cam channels anymore with using litematica or world edit or something. Both of them are true inspirations.
a great "bridge" block between the sandstones for the chimneys would be the inside of a mushroom block - which is an absolute pain to place but I think it could work
One thing about the oak at the top of the chimney's - since you have your darkest block at the very top of your build, it visually squashes it down for the viewer which might make the smoke look odd or out of place. If you wanted to get that stretching up into the skies effect, you could try a starker, lighter block.
9:10 "This is weird. It turns out my center point isn't actually the center point?" *flashbacks to season 9 build that was off-centered* I immediately look over to my brother, who I watch Mumbo's Hermitcraft videos with, flashing back to the conversation we had watching the previous one -- where we said, wouldn't it be funny if he did the thing he did last season and made it lop-sided (where Grain came and fixed it) again? We start cackling without speaking a word.
I can literally see the love you have for your base this season. Season 9 was so long i forgot about how fun your HC content was. And i gotta say dude. I wasnt sold on the busy builds at first but its grown on me and that bank build could be put into Scarland and it wouldnt stick out. Its really good.
I always love how much Hermits look up to other Hermits. On this Video, Mumbo was going nuts over Bdubs and his detailing and rock formations. On Bdubs's last video, He was talking about how nuts it was that Mumbo is drawing out his builds before he works on them. Hermit Craft is a big huge Family.
Mumbo at the moment reminds me of season 4 when he was popping out 3 episodes a week- not in terms of quantity of episodes coming out, but in terms of his sheer excitement and passion for the game. Seeing the best *at* their best? There's nothing else like it.
I hadn’t realized how much better Mumbo had gotten at building until he built this factory. It looks like something he would have built years ago. It looks good, but the new detailing skills he has really take his builds to the next level. It was really cool to see as someone who has been watching Mumbo since the Hermitcraft season with the ice spikes base he made (can’t remember whether that’s 3 or 4)

19:31 For the factory u could make the business card an in game item and make a armour stand hold it, make the armour stand large and make it invisible.
13:10 I tried to make a build recently based on the broad strokes of a bdubs build, finished up and it just looked off. Not just because I’m not as good a builder but because something was missing. So I went back and looked at the build in greater detail and realized the build actually contained like 3-4x more unique blocks than I thought. Really minor detail stuff, blocks that were only used maybe a dozen times in the entirety of the build but for the detail they were providing they turned out to be so important, and stuff I’d never ever consider. My amazement felt a lot like this moment here by the bone block silos
Hey Mumbo just a tip for the bamboo farm since you're putting the farm in a build. I found that each bamboo plant ( for the most part) needs its own light source above the farm. I build the same farm in my mega build and the growth rate was noticeably different until I put a sea lantern mesh over the top. Bamboo would only grow to full height on the mesh and grown to about 4 blocks in the gaps
Some great blocks for when you texture the brick part of the build are granite, polished granite and exposed cut copper. Also red terracotta if you want more of a contrast, but that can be hit or miss.
Sometimes i watch mumbo’s building and wonder how anyone can be better than that and then he shows joel’s and bdubs builds to prove me wrong I can’t imagine how they come up with where to place blocks
Proud of Mumbo for actually just getting it started, even if it’s going to need detailing and fixing later. It drove me NUTS last season when he plotted out his “base” in red concrete and never touched it until the season was almost over.
I love that Mumbo is going around and looking at how others build and texture. This season has been so collaborative that it would be fun to have Mumbo bring in Bdubbs for a Building with Bdubbs segment, Scar for the smoke effects, and Joel for the bump outs. A Magic Mountain crossover ❤
20:38 An idea to make magical mountain and the factory cohesive with the iron chains I suggest u build power cables towers all over by the river shore just like IRL! I think this kind of buildings would just make so much sense. Sick building btw
Surplus Mega Corp™ is looking great! If I may make a suggestion, I think it'd be fun to have the name up on some billboards as well - maybe elsewhere, or maybe just all around it, as if they had a surplus of their own ads!
I think that a lot of companies wind up with a ton of extra promotional material. The basement of a certain newspaper company is full of (1) disused tools, (2) model trains, (3) out-of-season decorations, (4) the archives, and (5) old miniature footballs with the "Dickinson Press" emblazoned upon them and similar items. My railroad club also has the same issue; we have little "railroad passes" left over all the time.
Idk if anyone else has said this in the comments but here's an idea for when you add details: you should probably add walkways around outside and ladders on the chimney's or silo's for "cleaners" and "workers" at the factory. I love the builds Mumbo! ❤
10:57 so you have 3 options if you want to do rule of 3rds in minecraft and have it look visually so from the bottom of the build. 1) you leave it as even parts and just let it speak for itself, 2) you shorten each section, kind of like what disney and movie sets do for buildings to make them look taller than they actually are or 3) if you want them all to look the same height, the higher up parts actually need to be bigger to take up the same visual space (as done with supporting columns on the parthenon or the gold lettering in st peters basilica). Option 1 is standard, 2 is the forced perspective in making it look taller than it is method, and 3 is to make details more visible despite being further away.
It has got to be amazing, being sandwiched between Scar, Joel, and Bdubs. It does add pressure in a way, but you can get inspired in any direction you look.
I'm glad Mumbo is devoting so much time to the _industrial district_ again! It's been quite a long time since he has focused on that aspect of Hermitcraft. What was the last time he had an industrial district again, Season 7? Love the factory, by the way. It's big enough to feel grand and imposing but doesn't outscale the town too much. Very in-line with the size of Joel builds too.
Just a note about connecting up to the power-station: IRL electric facilities have step-down stations that take the high voltage wires down to slightly less dangerous phases of electricity. So, don't forget to have the electric grid infrastructure for the rest of the hermits to connect into their smaller power wires.
I guess you could say that this *massive* factory's chimneys do not start *low* from the ground. They also gradually *taper* to a point as they're extended to the sky. The smoke billowing out will surely never *fade!*
I absolutely love the concept of Magic Mountain this season, it's so cool to see all the bases slowly grow and start to blend into each other. It's really beautiful to look at from any POV
I think the part of this build process I'm most interested to see how Mumbo handles is how he's gonna terraform the surrounding landscape to meet back up with the building, cause it would look extremely weird if he completes the build but just leaves the unnatural slice out of the terrain without altering it to either naturally meet the build or naturally curve around it.
I'm not the best builder but I thought I'd mention, try not to overdetail areas that people wont get too close to, the brains very good at filling in gaps, Then again, do whatever you want since its your build! Keep up the great work!
He's experimenting a more bdubs-like style and I can appreciate that, but his strength as a builder is in his use of geometry. For all it's worth it's a nice thing to try new techniques, just need to find that sweet spot of shape and details.
For me a few defining things for Bdubs building style: He textures focusing more on value than hue, which ends up adding a nice pop of colour. If you take the silo and view it in black and white, you barely notice the sandstone. This results in the colour blending with the build nicely while still having contrast; Bdubs also uses paths and such to direct the viewer to see the build from the angles that he wants them to see it from. (like what @Booklat1 says) Mumbo's geometry as well as use of colours are really good and and a huge defining part of his style. Knowing your strengths and weaknesses is a great skill to have and for me I always love to challenge my building in some way for every build and learn something new!
Loving the factory Mumbo, it looks a bit like scar flew into a chimney and got stuck. Which I can't unsee. I'm still loving the whole build this season
I have loved watching mumbo this season, mainly because he is exploring more of the building and lore side of his base. He has made some awesome mega builds in the past and cool bases but this season you can tell he is really enjoying making the concept art, business cards and so on. Mumbo is truly a jack of all trades👌

Mumbo thinking about asking Scar to help him is so wholesome. I love hermits helping hermits
They are an extra precaution since ‘anything that flies’ isn't supposed to fly lower than the electrical towers.”
They look like giant buoys, look them up! 🟠🟡⚪️
I thought it would be funny to add these to power lines and Hermits aren’t allowed to fly below them. Excited to see what you do next.
Wow, the snails from Wild Life haven't quite let go of Mumbo, seeing the factory as is...
Wow you work fast

Chuffly indeed
@laeclorentzen6111 it's really quite simple lol
You should put a floating pig between the smokestacks (maybe out of armor stands) to mimic the pink floyd album cover for “Animals”
Ha ha, charade, you are
There’s a pretty good chance someone else will build that as a prank
he also puts in little hints at Led Zeppelin with to stairway to heavenmitcraft or in the last epsiode whole lotta blocks
Mumbo putting off that lawsuit so bad
That will be how the series end, he loses the lawsuit and chooses to blow up the world over paying it
For future reference for the section around 16:20 I recall Bdubs in a video detailing smoother transitions using colored glass panes, stairs, fences, and walls to ease transitions, if you're looking to incorporate even more of those features.
I need vertical slabs in my life desperately
13:39 maybe you can build an armor stand Mumbo climbing it!
I love this idea so much
That accualy would be so funny
Hahahaha :)
For the texturing in the off-white parts of the build, in addition to the other blocks you've used, you could potentially add stripped pale oak logs and pale oak planks. I find they look really good for that type of thing and might help with what you're going for.
Love the content. Keep it up!
Have they added that update to Hermitcraft yet? 😮
@ElenHalls That's a good question. I would assume so, but maybe not😂
@@CarterBrooksMusic Ah, just found out they updated to it last night! :P
18:20 Mumbo: the build is done. Pink Floyd: slowly fades up from the background...
Now he just needs to add a flying pig
I like the slow building, hearing your thought process as opposed to a timelapse. Definitely get to know the build more as a viewer rather than it just appearing and now being in the background of a video.
1:07 You gotta re-edit the video Mumbo making a statement that something is grian-proof will only be a challenge to him
Nothing is grian proof, as grian has proven in the past
Exactly! We can’t let G see this
TWO Mumbo Hermitcraft videos in ONE week?! Splendid
I love watching Mumbo love building

@Midorigameplay-v5u oh my fucking God
@Midorigameplay-v5uget help, maybe one day you can be normal (i doubt it)
@@poltergeistxoxo machines cannot be normal
The thing I love about unfinished builds without the details yet is that they look like the coolest part of a new game that is still rendering
18:41 why does it look like spoongebob upsidedown?
Lmao now that i see it, it can not be unseen 😂
I couldnt agree more.
9:10 "This is weird. It turns out my center point isn't actually the center point?" *flashbacks to season 9 build that was off-centered*
I immediately look over to my brother, who I watch Mumbo's Hermitcraft videos with, flashing back to the conversation we had watching the previous one -- where we said, wouldn't it be funny if he did the thing he did last season and made it lop-sided (where Grain came and fixed it) again? We start cackling without speaking a word.
Love how Mumbo gushes over Bdubs rock formations.Imagining how he would climb them.
I love that we're getting industrial Mumbo again
1:18 that's a risky thing to claim there Mumbo, but I believe in you!

HI Grumbo Gumbo!
Seeing Mumbo craft the deepslate bricks instead of using the stonecutter, hurts on a deeply spiritual level that I can't quite understand
He gave himself until the end of Saturday, but he did it by Wednesday.
Please share your motivation with me.
I am genuinely surprised it happened so soon.
Real.
He could’ve meant last Saturday - episodes take a few days to edit I think?
Am I the only person who was so happy with the video being 21 minutes and 21 seconds like YES THANK YOU MUMBO
Lol, I too get happy about odd and specific stuff like that
Mumbo at the moment reminds me of season 4 when he was popping out 3 episodes a week- not in terms of quantity of episodes coming out, but in terms of his sheer excitement and passion for the game. Seeing the best *at* their best? There's nothing else like it.
Something tells me this might me Mumbo's last hermitcraft season
I hadn’t realized how much better Mumbo had gotten at building until he built this factory. It looks like something he would have built years ago. It looks good, but the new detailing skills he has really take his builds to the next level. It was really cool to see as someone who has been watching Mumbo since the Hermitcraft season with the ice spikes base he made (can’t remember whether that’s 3 or 4)
Can't believe he actually did it

@Midorigameplay-v5uno stop
19:31 For the factory u could make the business card an in game item and make a armour stand hold it, make the armour stand large and make it invisible.
18:26 i cant get an image of a snail out of my head
13:10 I tried to make a build recently based on the broad strokes of a bdubs build, finished up and it just looked off. Not just because I’m not as good a builder but because something was missing. So I went back and looked at the build in greater detail and realized the build actually contained like 3-4x more unique blocks than I thought. Really minor detail stuff, blocks that were only used maybe a dozen times in the entirety of the build but for the detail they were providing they turned out to be so important, and stuff I’d never ever consider. My amazement felt a lot like this moment here by the bone block silos
You should use trapdoors for the lip on the chimneys
and use campfires in the smoke you're going to make to give some particle effects
Sometimes i watch mumbo’s building and wonder how anyone can be better than that and then he shows joel’s and bdubs builds to prove me wrong
I can’t imagine how they come up with where to place blocks
Billboards is a genius idea!
Mumbo, thanks for making wonderful videos like this! I have watched you for years and it is still a highlight of my week!

I AGREE!!!
sometimes i'll go weeks without watching and then binge all of the uploads i missed
For the logo on the side - check out the Goodyear corporate HQ sign on their old building in Akron. I feel like it's right what you're looking for.
3:30 I feel like a mega corp would have bland walls actually, so it doesn't matter how much you do I'll probably like it.
the stainage on the chimneys doesnt need to be a block out, the contrast of the darker colour already creates depth
build is looking amazing btw!
It has got to be amazing, being sandwiched between Scar, Joel, and Bdubs. It does add pressure in a way, but you can get inspired in any direction you look.
You should have Scar build the smoke over your chimneys, since he’s so good with glass building

Grabs 3 Stacks

Mumbo, you're baiting us, aren't you.
11:15 - looks paid in full.
“When I was young, I yearned for the assembly line” - Mumbo jumbo -
Assembly programming language
Just a note about connecting up to the power-station: IRL electric facilities have step-down stations that take the high voltage wires down to slightly less dangerous phases of electricity. So, don't forget to have the electric grid infrastructure for the rest of the hermits to connect into their smaller power wires.
I guess you could say that this *massive* factory's chimneys do not start *low* from the ground. They also gradually *taper* to a point as they're extended to the sky. The smoke billowing out will surely never *fade!*
Really pumping out these videos like, maybe, a factory?
Honestly this season is my favourite since season 6 Mumbo’s building skills has gotten so good recently
19:12 I noticed it kinda looks like legs and a skirt upside down and now I can’t unsee it😭
I wanted to comment the same thing 😂😂😂
It’s SpongeBob SquarePants upside down
Yeah just about to comment it. They also look like chicken drumsticks. But great job Mumbo.
I saw a frog face. lol.
i can’t unsee mr crabs 😂
I absolutely love the concept of Magic Mountain this season, it's so cool to see all the bases slowly grow and start to blend into each other. It's really beautiful to look at from any POV
I think the part of this build process I'm most interested to see how Mumbo handles is how he's gonna terraform the surrounding landscape to meet back up with the building, cause it would look extremely weird if he completes the build but just leaves the unnatural slice out of the terrain without altering it to either naturally meet the build or naturally curve around it.
Mumbo says it’s not a wall in front of his beloved farms . But we all know it’s a Wonderwall at his Oasis
Underrated comment
Man i can't wait to watch mumbo build... Doubt himself... Keep building... And then finishing his build.
I'm not the best builder but I thought I'd mention,
try not to overdetail areas that people wont get too close to,
the brains very good at filling in gaps,
Then again, do whatever you want since its your build!
Keep up the great work!
He's experimenting a more bdubs-like style and I can appreciate that, but his strength as a builder is in his use of geometry.
For all it's worth it's a nice thing to try new techniques, just need to find that sweet spot of shape and details.
For me a few defining things for Bdubs building style:
He textures focusing more on value than hue, which ends up adding a nice pop of colour.
If you take the silo and view it in black and white, you barely notice the sandstone. This results in the colour blending with the build nicely while still having contrast;
Bdubs also uses paths and such to direct the viewer to see the build from the angles that he wants them to see it from.
