Was dope meeting you today outside Sweetwater, hope you have safe travels back home!
Owned a sprayers choice tremonti with the stoptail before and sold it. Instant and constant regret. Flash forward a couple years and my local GC had a brand new one hanging on the rack for months and it got zero attention. It’s a charcoal cherry sunburst, with a stoptail. And it was marked down a lot. Finally had to take it down and play it. Fell in love again. Week later I sold 2 guitars and scooped it. Never again! These things are special.
The PRS adjustable wrap around tail piece is precisely why I went with a PRS SE Zach Myers, as opposed to an SE 594 McCarty. I think it looks aesthetically cleaner overall, and the function is perfect.
Same for me. I also played a few of the SEs. The Zach Myers just flat out stayed in tune better.
I have one and love it. The best "Les Paul Custom" that you can get and it's a beast in the studio
This is a bucketlist guitar for me. I own all the Les Paul Customs, Rare Gibsons, Fender Teles and B-Benders, Gretsch White Falcon....but the PRS McCarty and Temonti Singlecut are on my bucketlist. Perhaps now is the time to pull the trigger.
Agree on hardtail for recording. Stays in tune and solid. (Not that tremolos can’t be stable, but hardtail gets there with less effort IMO)
I think Fluff explained that the problem was him, but I have just no idea where this tuning stability myth comes from when the Floyd Rose exists and quite a number of manufacturers make super stable classic dual fulcrum floating trems: Music Man, G&L, Vega Trem etc. I'm even getting fabulous tuning stability from a FR1000 while the locking nut is not locked.
I think this is entirely a set up thing. Floated correctly, with good tuners and good nut, a good quality trem unit delivers.
This is just my opinion but I think most players don’t even use the trems that are on a lot of these guitars…(if you need a trem, get a Floyd)…I would love to see more hardtails…beautiful guitar btw👍
This is true. However, trems are often a really popular option and they have their own tonal/resonant qualities to them as well.
Floyds are hella annoying though
@@freepadz6241would never own a Floyd again. Such a nightmare.
@@ozzie4306 Definitely not as a main guitar that's for sure. Such a pain.
I have a few guitars with trems and I’m not sure I even know where the trem bars got off to. I like the way they feel when you really dig in, you can feel the springs or at least I imagine I can feel them
I have a PRS in which i locked the trem by jamming some taped together coins in there. Hasn't budged in over 10 years.
I have done the same on my Custom 24s
Did the same to my Custom 22. There are better looking solutions, but not cheaper or better functioning.
I do the same thing.
My current main live guitar (RG655) has taped together coins inside to block the Floyd
sounds like a factory job........
100% understand. I wanted to love PRS for about a decade. I had several USA Custom 24s and 22s and just couldn't bond with them. Then I got a Custom 22 that had a Fixed wrap a round stop tail. Holy MOLY! It's a totally different beast. That's been my #1 since 2017. The stop tail PRS guitars have a whole different feel and response.
They do! Sadly, most PRS models don't offer the hardtail option.
I just bought a tremonti stoptail too. Original owner out a metal pickup in the neck. Have been debating on replacing the bridge with the metal too
I love the metal pickups from PRS
I have the same exact one. It became my forever guitar. Congrats. You’ll grow to love it even more
I picked up a Tremonti in faded whale blue with the tremolo last month. Absolutely love it. Not encountered any tuning stability issues so far though obviously sticking with E standard and drop D for now. It's the first time I've spent so much on a guitar but the fit and finish, setup out of the box and sound is on another level entirely.
I just have the SE Tremonti but I love it! ❤️
Ha! Me too. Just got a Custom 24-08 in the mail today. Enjoy!
I already preferred the look of the prs single cuts with the wraparound bridge over the 2 piece ones.
I owned one back in 2013, and it was a quilt top (10 top). Beautiful guitar and played really well. My musical tastes have changed so I let that particular PRS go. It was a fantastic guitar but was a bit of a one-trick pony with the pickups that were in it because they were super hot. If you are a Creed/Alterbridge/Tremonti fan, then it's the perfect guitar for you! I remember walking into my guitar teacher's studio years ago and I just dropped the recent Creed album in front of him and was like, "Teach me to play this" and that's where it all began and then when I bought my PRS Tremonti, It was a dream fulfilled. If you want to experience a guitar that is probably at the zenith of all Les Pauls, go play a Heritage custom shop. You will never look back at Gibson or PRS for a Les Paul and its going to be more versatile. For the niche that the Tremonti PRS fits in, it masters that style well.
My two favorite guitars are a '97 Cu24 and '07 SC250. The later, in essence, very close to your Tremonti model. It's a work of art, so nice to play and to listen to. Congrats 🤘
I own an 06 gen 1 Tremonti and an 07 gen 2 tremonti with a floating bridge. Both are nearly identical for me tracking (no pitch wable etc.) The biggest difference is the stop tail is a little louder without the amp. I will say if you dont have the bridge set up by someone uses to working on ors bridges they can be finicky.
My opinion is whichever you like playing more would be the big brother. I do like the inlays on the Tremonti for sure. They react well in the camera.
Guitar sound is excellent 💪🏼. I’m going to get a PRS in the future
Nice, I like the both the tremolo and the wrap around style just think there both good, I would really dig an s2 tremonti
CRUNCHY .... I like it! - I constantly keep coming back to PRS, MM and Suhr myself. Fender and Gibson just don't attract me to them much anymore these days unfortunately. I have the M Pickups in my custom 24 and LOVE them through a Dual Rec.
Good god man that Custom 22 is beautiful!
I just got a beautiful core custom 22 10 top yesterday and I’m also in love.
Les Paul killers by far! Congrats! I love my Tremonti. Totally want a stoptail version next though, but I'll just default to my SC-245's for now. 🤟🙂
I had two Tremontis with the floating bridges and did not vibe with them, plus I never use the bar. I sold them and grabbed one just like yours and a single top hardtail. Incredible guitars.
I have the trem of my CE24 siting on the body. I hardly use the trem. It stays in perfect tune and I can put in Drop D without needing to fix the tuning of the other strings.
I love ❤ PRS Singlecut's... Own a Tremonti hard tail myself in Trampas Green.... I could see myself owning each of those you have Fluff... Good StUff!!
Love the Tremonti stoptails. Its a dream PRS for me
All of your guitars are hardtails, and most of them seem to be single cuts. You have sort of boxed yourself in to this genre, kind of like Agufish has. We also have very different tastes in music, yet I still enjoy your content and have been subbed for years. Keep doing you bro :)
freaking coolest Custom 22 i’ve ever seen.
I think why I like V's with a Floyd is because i get stability from classical position for palm muting smoothness although havent really scrutinized full song tracking, just occasionally watch the tuner while playing to see if I'm keeping it accurate
Congrats fluff!! Looks amazing
Such a sweet guitar bro! Hope you
get some equally sweet & nasty tones out of it!
Fluff it doesn’t get said often, but you’re a hell of a guitar player. Cheers!
A Tremonti is my current dream guitar!!!
Ive got a prs 245 with the duncan jb and it freakin rips. I put a seth lover in the neck to round out the tones for everything else.
NGD is always exciting, congrats! I am waiting on a Kiesel A2 with the bevel delete and a Deviant Grimoire, which will come first is hard to say. Oh Fluff, I live in the Seattle area, is there a guitar repair place that you can recommend? The last place place I took my guitar to didn't do a very good job and I'd like to avoid that.
Oh yeah, these Tremonti guitars look so sick. Hope to give one a shot someday.
I have a 2000 McCarty 10 top hardtail guitar and it’s honestly one of the best guitars I own. Is it the coolest? No. Is it made incredibly well? Yes.
Fwiw I recently picked up a hardtail ce22. I too am not a floating bridge guy. It has the dragon 2 pickups. And my god does it nail 90’s riff tones. So if you ever get a chance, you might dig those too.
You are going to love love love that Tremonti…!!!!
So may be a dumb question but what’s the difference between a dual and a triple rectifier?
What model/ color Custom 22 is that?? I grew up on a SE Custom 22 and always wanted to get a true USA to commemorate it
I have to 2 PRS. They sound amazing and play awesome but I only play them in my studio. I feel a little embarrassed to say I have them.
Beautiful guitar! 🤘🏼
I'd go with the Tremonti pickup, personally feel that PRS's pickups sounds unpleasant, wooly and very little clarity. The guitar itself looks brilliant though, I'm still deciding on whether I want one or not!
That’s a great top. Looks amazing.
Nice guitar! Congrats!
I NEARLY got a Tremonti, but it wasn't too comfy with the profile...Wasn't what I was expecting on the shoulders of the carve.
how's the nitro finish? does it feel like it's more easily dinged?
Love that new guitar!!!!! 🎸🔥🎸🔥🎸
Thanks!
Beautiful guitar bro!!!
How were you able to order a Tremonti signature and have PRS put in a metal pickup instead of the Tremonti pickup?
I have worked with them for years. I just asked.
Congrats. I enjoy my first gen version :D
With a Tremol-No you don’t have to drill holes into the body to lock the bridge.
i love that guitar... :(
My absolute Holy Grail Guitar!
Just Beautiful!!
Shhhhh don't tell Music Man about this. They might want your Stingray back They already made a hardtail specially for you.
(IRL) Its nice when you can have an endorsement deal without being exclusive! rock on.
A monumental moment. Fluff is actually NOT shilling in this video.
🙄
Correction, 2nd best guitar ever. I’d be willing to lend you my Burny Les paul super grade to challenge it. It’s amazing.
What do you think of the Trimonti vs the single cut 594 pickups aside, are the differences mostly the neck/scale length?
You pretty well nailed it. Different scale length, different neck carves are the big ones. Tremonti has phase 3 locking tuners and synthetic nut. 594 has non-locking tuners and bone nut. Wrap around vs tune-o-matic style bridge is notable difference as well.
if for some silly reason (or out of necessity) you sell the Custom 22, I WILL BE 1ST IN LINE. I'll pay you more than you're asking for it, pls gimme
So peanut butter and jellies
Click!...Niiiice
Love my stoptail. I don’t deserve it 😅
nice!!!
For 4500 USDT, im having REALLY hard time justfying the purchase. Like, 4500 USDT for what?
Prs needs more hardtails
Slap an evertune on that and i am in heaven!
Makes me sad that PRS insists on putting floating bridges on 90% of their models. A hardtail Custom 22 or 24 would be the best thing ever, but I've only ever seen them custom made for artists like Skillet and All That Remains
I had the 7 string version of that exact guitar and returned it the day after I received it. I absolutely hated how it felt, the pickups were absolute muddy dogshit, and it had the g string would never be in tune ever (by far the worst case of out of tune g string I’ve heard). Almost $2k for the fucking thing and it was worse than any $500 guitar I ever owned. I got a Schecter C-7 Hellraiser instead for $900 and it absolutely destroyed it. It absolutely baffles me why anyone likes PRS and thinks that it’s worth the stupid money they charged for it. Even my first guitar was a ESP F-50 which was a pretty budget entry level guitar and even that was a better guitar than PRS’s “top end” guitars. It’s a joke.
Whhhhhyyyy? They are so douchey. I don't care about how great they play. Many other options at the same level. But I just hate quilted top guitars. Especially a PRS. The Eastman SB59 LP shape is the greatest LP on the market. And very reasonable. Check it out. And you won't look like Mark Tremonti. Which is a HUGE bonus. A bunch of guitar brands with East in the name so you have to be specific.
I like the "The Guitaristas" video comparison on them. The Eastman also has an "Antique Varnish" finish. Same hand rubbed finish they use on their high quality violins, etc. Just beautiful. The Eastman also comes with Lollar Imperials and is made to be exactly like a real '59.
Well, I guess now I know why my PRS never quite plays in tune.
I hate trems! I would have got the same one.
Some of their guitars sound great but their less expensive models not so much - so bottom line, you get what you pay for! Better wood has more tonal resonance, better pickups allow the notes we play to be heard more clearly because it takes more copper to wind around, quality control switches and reostats so they last long and pick up all the intricacy of the notes! So if you want a "Starter guitar" good go for it but PRS is a great brand but make sure you understand that things come three ways- Good, Fast and Cheap pick two of the three because we will NEVER get all three at the same time!
Bought a PRS .... Now you are broke with an overpriced guitar...... !
Nobody cares that you bought a new guitar
I hope you get through whatever negativity causes you to project to strangers on the internet my guy! Have a great week!🙂
@@RiffsAndBeards Sure, but you really don’t need to announce a random guitar you bought and you should probably put that effort into making a bigger video
Should you really be buying new guitars when your view count is that low
Jeezus Christ, you just refuse to talk prices...just insane...there's no pricetags or value for money in Fluff's world...
Almost $6k. Just a stupid price for it.
I imagine he gets significant discounts. PRS USA guitars barely hold their value. It’s kind of crazy.
You're on obviously on the internet dude. If you wanna know the price, google it. Jeezus🙄
@@bennyharderguitar no it’s market rate for this quality level of US made guitar
Over the last year I’ve gone full PRS. started with se’s and now I’m on to core. Currently haggling over the price of my first core Tremonti. Great guitar. Cheers
Good luck with that haggling. 😁
My Tremonti was my first core. Actually... My first PRS period. Now I have 3. 😬
Love them all though.
Totally agree with you Fluff: PRS is the new Gibson and MM the new Fender.
Anyway… I’m the proud owner of a US made PRS Tremonti from 2007… fixed bridge (stop tail) all black… it’s beautiful and sounds awesome!
The only thing that I don’t like of the guitar is the Tremonti name on the 12th fret as a inlay. I prefer very much the bird with open wings!
Nice order man, enjoy your new guitar!
PRS is the new Gibson alright, overpriced dogshit just like Gibson
Happy to hear you too found the Tremonti bridge pickup meuh…. I have the same feeling with mine - find it way too hot. Will likely get a Metal or else too that falls within the JB scope. Great axe! Love mine (where I did fix the trem). Purchased used and saved 3k$ ! No hard tail bacl contour was avail when I got mine
Nothing like an heirloom piece of kit like that. I love it but more importantly... you do. Congrats!
5:35 yes! I've been saying this for years. The old wrap around bridge was a horrible design taken straight out of the 50s. I think even Paul didn't see the benefit of adjustable saddles and it took them years to realize that modern bands just use different string gauges and tunings and need the adjustment range.
Being "Heavy handed" is still going to make you go out of tune a little bit regardless of the fixed bridge. Basically, that doesn't make any sense.
Wow that Custom 22 though 😮
So pretty
I HATE tremolos. I will not buy a guitar with a trem. From any make. Ever. Period. Good purchase.
Hey dude!
You've reviewed my rig a few years back in one of your "Rate or Roast" series. My setup had MT Charcoal Burst 10 Top. (with the floating bridge)
I remember that at one point my saddle was breaking my fattest string so I had to kind of grind it off a bit to make more space for the string to sit.
After that it was perfect, soo watch out haha.
From all the guitars I've played this one was the best all around and now I'm jealous cause I've sold mine :D
Lotta people can't wrap their head around a "metal" PRS guitar. I'm definitely in that camp. I prefer to keep my PRS's more vintage inspired. But if that's what you want, it's as good or better than any brand out there. I do believe it would be a more popular direction, they should consider going in.
How many well known established metal guitarists, would consider PRS a first choice for thier signature model? Image is important with guitars. Whether players will admit that or not, is the question? They complain about bird inlays, and ornate headstocks. If they can't get past that, it's a lost cause for many.
I like the look of the hardtail. I own the se custom. Baffles me that it’s not a standard hardtail. He don’t even use a tremolo.
I’ve been intrigued by the SE McCarty because of the hardtail. But I have the Zach Myers in trampas green.
for me PRS Guitars are always sound very fuzzy, not defined. There´s always some kind of fizz to the sound and it´s kinda muddy. I sold my CE24 - disappointment.
Comments ,not a lot of colour to the eyes .I love the sound to my ears but . EQ pedel rocks .psr high quality but pricy.better then the rest .oh I just got Marshall Marshall head phones.very happy with themmm
Another ex-Tremonti owner with the regret! Tremonti Tribal, loved it, shoulda kept it!
I've got a Gibson LP trad pro v in transparent ebony. It's my Mark
Tremonti lookalike. My only amp is a MT15.
Love the looks of them except the headstock. They have really great finishes.
I have Kahler Bridge and there is way to lock Bridge and I have using it allot that way
