Thank you for this message. What gives me hope is all the people I see trying to do anything they can. I met a woman yesterday who singlehandedly made 200 face shields from acetate sheets, rubber bands and foam to help doctors try to save their single-use face masks, until her hands were blistered and donated them to my local hospital. I see countless examples of people trying to feed those without food, trying to do what they can to solve problems organically roots up.

Jane, you’ve been my hero since I was a teenager, over fifty years ago. I heard this the day you posted it but was too ill to respond then. Bless you for your tireless efforts for chimps, all animals and our natural world! I, too, had a stuffed chimp as a child; I too have him still and love him dearly. I’ve been a trained wildlife rehabber until I grew too ill and disabled, but still find ways to help, and always will. Love and gratitude from Minnesota, USA 💚.

I'm already learning so much I can live without. I've been home for a month so I'm noticing the items that aren't getting any use.
I've begun to set bags of items aside. I feel it's a useful way for me to spend my time.
Some people may feel lonely but it may be helpful to realize we are all sharing an experience with the rest of the world.
