If you get zippers by the yard here's a trick for you to make life easier - put on all the zipper heads at the same time. Then all you have to do is move them down the zipper tape when you have to cut off what you need. Of course this works best if you only need one zipper head per zipper. But, if you need two zipper heads on a zipper, it's not difficult to cut off the length you need, remove one head and stick it back on in the correct direction to make a double headed zipper.
I came across your tutorial while having a VERY difficult time creating zippers. After watching several times I immediately went to Amazon and ordered the towel hooks. Will get them tomorrow. Can’t wait. Unfortunately I don’t have the biscuits, so sad. Thanks so much for your help.

Great timing. I bought 2 different styles of these towel hooks two years ago then promptly forgot about them. I'm off to look for them right after I've posted this. Great tutorial showing the use of these and WHICH style works well with the zipper pulls. I've been using zipper by the roll or yard since early 70's. And love today's amazing options of colors and designs. I have a lot of sizes from the teeth to the coils. But since one can be over whelmed by so many colors and fancy pulls I chose to limit most of my fancy colored options to Size #5 coils. (Hubby prefers only tooth styles but we choose to differ as in I let him choose his and I choose mine and when he fusses about mine I tell him he's always free to choose his own. Married for 51 years yeah now and again boundaries need to be retraced. LOL) So I'm re-upholstering a 22 year old very neglected RV. Much worse than known at the time of purchase. So it has 12 cushions to make and actually some major design changes along the way. Almost 2 weeks ago I was happy to start on the first 2 of the cushions and made a pair of matching zippers with a single pull to each as these are arm bolsters and not very long. But then decided to move on and make 4 of the longer zippers for the dinette cushions. First one up I was having problems with the zipper coil on one side. It appeared I might have clipped it and separted the coil from the zipper tape on one side only. So I cut it off and began again. Ok I finally flipped the tape over and examined it. There should be two sets of double rows of stitching along the middle opening of each side of the tape on reverse side of tape. This stitching is part of the manufacturing of the zipper. One side all the way is perfect with it's two rows side by side running just perfectly. But the other side is partially missing to all the way missing and about every few inches or so the coil is not caught and so for some reason it appears to be a good zipper but in fact the coil isn't attached to the tape in gaps of 1-5 inches all along the entire 10 yards of zipper tape. I went back and inspected the two small zippers I had made and sure enough much of the zipper on one side was faulty. So for over 50 years I've never seen this before. I had no choice but to quickly order 2 new rolls of zipper from a different vendor. I had bought another color pink along with the grey that was faulty and inspected that and it is fine. I now stop to inspect all my zipper tapes before cutting them to size and before adding pulls to it. My rolls came and I am ready to start once again on my project. But feel a little disoriented having been put back so far of schedule. I decided to try to jump start my enthusiasm once again that I'd watch a few videos on various techniques people use. I've always done it the old fashion way of pop them on one end and move the pull to the other end and repeat. I also often make head to head double pulls and now and again make butt to butt. But rarely use the latter. I wouldn't dream of attaching any sticky adhesive pad to my sewing machine even though my machine would be a lovely stable machine. But love how you did to show us how this so called hack works. I hate the term hack. Just so mean sounding when in fact it's just another technique. This is great along with yes forks by the way I never managed to get to work for me and I tried 5 different forks. But maybe it was like you mentioned difficult to hang onto the fork between our leg or I used a small vice to hold my forlks but it would often slip anyway. So I ran across this idea with a towel hook maybe 5 or more years ago and ordered 2 different styles not sure which would work the best. They came in sets of two and three. So hey hey hey that RV the spares might work out well as towel or washrag holders in the bathroom. Maybe not sure I want to stick up taped anything in the RV. I've spent too much time removing other peoples things where in fact a few times they must not have stuck well and the got out some horrible ugly glue that yellowed and won't release without harm to the veneer or wall paper finishes. With seeing 12 zippers to make I think I'll go in search of these and give it a try. I'm not sure where I'd attach it too though. I do like alien style tape to try out places before committing to glue or pulling off the protective adhesive sheet and going with it so maybe alien tape would hold the tool in place yet let me remove and move it later to better location. Great job demonstrating this tool and technique. Glad I spent some of my procrastination time today watching it. Thanks for the share. People like myself is so appreciative and grateful you take the time to make these videos and to do such great patient styles so we all can take it in no matter our level of experience.

Thank you so much for your video! I don’t have the tea towel holders yet (on their way from Amazon though) but I used some of your tips and I was able to quickly put 25 zipper pulls on 10 yards of zipper tape. Putting the zipper tape into the zipper pull at an angle really helps!
