One of the funniest things Joe ever did was growl or shout the name "EARL!" during one of these segments. It's such a small thing, but the man was brilliant.
Has anyone noticed that they tended to tape these "SCTV News" segments in blocks? For example, this would have been from the same taping session as the one where the news set was haunted. Others include: - The edition where Earl was stoned on marijuana, and the one where he was suffering from an impacted wisdom tooth - The one where Earl was an insufferable diva who blamed his troubles on the crew, and the one where, wearing a neck brace, he reported on a Johnny Cash concert at Melonville prison - The one where Earl spent much of the newscast time on the phone in "Consumer Action Line," and the one where he brought his dinner to the set - The parody of the "Happy Talk" style of news, and the edition where Moe Green was abducted Floyd's outfit and hairstyle are part of the equation in terms of figuring out such details. This had also been true in a way on the Season 1 set, and probably Season 3 as well.

I'm with Earl on this one.
What, skimping on news items while fashioning that commentary?
