My parents also started to teach me sign language when I was a baby and it was such a great help for me since as a growing little baby that still needs to develop my speech, I was able to effectively communicate and convey my feelings to my parents even though I was still a little child. And of course, my parents was able to understand what I want and need which saved us a lot of tantrums and drama. 😂
