    Having a good and experienced architect and contractor is really important. I have an on going project. At the start of planning I said to my builder that I want a story building and gave he me the cost which was quite shocking. Once they were done with the foundation he called me and explained to me why it was costly. He said he knows I might later on want to add up a few more floors which was true because instead of one I am doing three storey building. So hiring a professional is always important

    I AS A STRUCTURAL ENGINEER CHALLENGE YOU THAT MILD STEEL CAN AND SHOULD BE USED FOR STOREY BUILDING. MILD STEEL CAN EVEN BE USED FOR BRIDGES. THERE ARE MANY REASONS WHY BUILDING COLLAPSE, LIKE POOR CASTING AND CURING OF CONCRETE. USING THE WRONG REINFORCEMENT SIZE . LACK OF STRUCTURAL CALCULATIONS, THE USE OF MILD STEEL IS PERFECTLY FINE FOR A STOREY BUILDING, YOU DON’T HBAVE TO WASTEE YOUR MONEY ON QUARRY, DUST, QUARRY BLOCKS AND HIGH TENSILE STEEL

    Hello boss, say you want to build three storeys. Can you finish the ground floor and wait till you get the money and continue bit by bit till you complete the whole three storeys on the plan ? If yes how long can you wait ? I’m asking for financial reasons. Thank you 🙏

    • @AfricaBuildingHub
      @AfricaBuildingHub  10 місяців тому +5

      It’s a difficult one to answer. You should be looking at getting a roof over the structure as soon as possible to avoid structural integrity issues when the flow is exposed for too long to the elements

    Hello Boss..Can one use 14mm for single storey building..

      It’s not just the size of the iron rods. How far are the columns from each other? What ratios are you using for your concrete mixtures? So many factors.

    Thanks for all the good videos. Could you tell me what the process is for a building dirt road to a remote plot of land please? For example would my road not run through other peoples undeveloped land and how much would it cost approximately?

    • @AfricaBuildingHub
      @AfricaBuildingHub  10 місяців тому +1

      It depends on the distance of road you are going to clear. A day they charge about 2,000 to 3,000 cedis. The nature of the road also counts. I would recommend that you get multiple quotes. It will definitely clear lands of other people and that’s fine.

      Thanks for the quick reply. Just to clarify, you are saying it is ok to build a road through other people undeveloped plots?

      @@kojoboahen1031 @AfricaBuildingHub I dont even have any land yet 😅. I am planning on buying some next year. I am just trying to get as much information as possible to figure out if what I have planned is possible. Thanks though you both gave me the answer I was looking for. Basically every site plan should have a road on it 👊🏽

    In the buildings u showed in this video, are you using sliding windows or Louvre blades?
    what's your take on the choice of either described above?

    • @AfricaBuildingHub
      @AfricaBuildingHub  10 місяців тому

      Sliding windows are more modern but more expensive

    • @mmensa
      @mmensa 10 місяців тому +3

      My thoughts or the modernity or otherwise is different in the sense that those who introduced the more modern one sought to solve a problem; cold weather. Is it worth the trouble in countries whose average daily temperature is 28-29 degrees Celsius? Are we not overstretching modernity instead of adapting our terrain and allowing for good ventilation?

      @@AfricaBuildingHubDon't take any notice, Ghanaians just don't like to learn from anything or anyone. Some of our people have such a poor mindset, my husband and I started building our house in the mountains in our late thirtys, and I told him I did not want a storelybulding because something simple will help us in our old age and furthermore we will be able to manage the maintenance of our home, Ghanaians hate to think outside the box
