  • It's time once again to wander the magical aisles of one of the world's most vast collections (in salvage yard form, anyway) of classic cars. This time, I ventured back to the DVAP Casa Grande location and got to check out a 'new' area with a wide variety of vehicles. I think this might be my longest video ever, so get your popcorn ready and settle in! Thanks for watching.

    I don't know if anyone has time to sit through 40 minutes of video, but there was too much cool stuff to chop it down! Comment with what your favorite car was from this trip!

      That 63 or 64 Oldsmobile 98 didn't look to bad I believe it could be restored and put back on the road again wouldn't mind having it.

    Enjoyable video, love seeing all the old cars! Sometimes wonder the history and the folks and families attached to the history of the vehicle..

    I've been there. My son and I took a road trip East from San Diego on the I-8, then North on "Dead Cow Road" to Desert Valley. Bought a rear glass for my brother's 1954 Dodge, then drove home the next day. Yes, they are good people.

      @@TysonHugie BTW: I learned how to drive in a '64 Pontiac Grand Prix. It was "Mom's Hot Rod." Particularly on longer trips, she would put her foot in it.

    Happy birthday! Thanks for taking us on the walk around. Hats off to the fine folks at Desert Valley for allowing you to video the yard and for making all of that amazing old iron available to hobbyists. Man they sure have an amazing inventory! I also love VGG and would love to see him do a resurrection there…that would make for some amazing content.

    Wow What a treat we have tonight! Another DVAP video! WOO HOO!!! First of all Happy pre birthday LOL! the big 40 I passed that mark 5 years ago. My favorite car that's a tough one. But being loyal to my favorite brand I would guess besides the clean 2 owner 94 Legend ;-) the Accord at 29:45 it looked like an 85 SE which was top of the line for 85. Sad it was in such bad shape. Also close tie would be the 86 Prelude I always loved the pop up light Hondas (Preludes and Accords) of the 80's. Oh and yes I'm with you on the 57 Plymouth. Those were from a time when cars were art. can you imagine how awesome these cars looked new? Thanks for the walk around. These are always some of my favorite videos!

    • @TysonHugie
      @TysonHugie  3 роки тому

      I'm glad you enjoyed this! And I think you're right about the Accord being an SE. The more I thought about it, the more I realized how rare it was. Leather and all!

    Hi Tyson! That was a great video, I could wander around in there all day long. I honestly really liked the 2 door Volvo 242 that was beside the prelude. It’s funny every single vehicle there was once Brand new and shiny. Everything car has a story if they could only tell it

    • @TysonHugie
      @TysonHugie  3 роки тому +2

      That’s the best part is piecing together the story, and I like to search around for paperwork that could provide clues in the investigation

    I really enjoy your junkyard walks. The cars in Arizona junkyards are in better shape than some 10 year old cars still on the road up north. I'd love to get my hands on one of those Civic CVCC and fix it up. Another cool car to restore would be a mid 70s Mercury Capri but parts for it may be too much of a challenge to find.

    Pretty cool seeing some of these old cars, even if they aren't moving. I got a kick out of seeing that Yugo too. If I remember correctly, the engine is so tiny in those, they had enough room to put the spare tire in there with it. Take care bud!

    The Imperial (brown one) was a 61,62,or 63. 61 tail lights were round and mounted mid way up the fin , 62 tail lights were round and mounted on top of the fin , 63 tail lights were a vertical bar mounted in the back of the fin

    Harry's Honda is/was located in Presque Isle, ME. This is a great video. Sad, at first because some of these cars were once beauties.
    I think if a Honda/Acura was completely rusted out beyond recognition and had a tarp over it, you'd still sniff it out. :o) The coffee can on the Oldsmobile Tornado was an option on the deluxe series. lol (other options included headrests and tilt-telescopic steering column). I had a roommate who drove a Yugo. I once borrowed it and when I put my foot on the clutch (it was a manual), my foot and the clutch went through the floorboard. lol That's Yugoslavian engineering for you. (joke)

    That was so awesome - so many of those cars I've seen on the road in my lifetime. My heart did break a little bit for those 1st and 2nd-gen Accord hatchbacks. Seeing the digital odometer in the one car reminded me - if you want a totally rad dashboard, check out the dashboard of the Mitsubishi Cordia. My Dad had a 1985 Cordia hatch, and it was like Mitsubishi engineers were trying to recreate KITT.
    Great to see the Legend on the road - any plans for 580k?
