@SammyKaye32 when you beat butter, air pockets form and get trapped, and therefore it turns lighter in color

I really thought they were going to take the onion jam and swirl it through the bread, that would have made the bread look really cool kinda like cinnamon raisin bread that they said they were mimicking I was surprised when they just used powder and dry onions

As someone who owns the exact same instant pot, I was hoping to see a trick about putting the lid on. Turns out there is no trick and you are simply meant to struggle. It's part of the design.

When whipping the heavy cream, it separates the solids and the liquids. The pigment, beta-carotene, then shows as there is no more liquid diluting it.

Pretty funny how they were making the exact mistake Josh was yelling at Gordon about. Too thick bread makes the cheese not melt before everything else burns
@@pikekekeUnless you toast both sides which gets the bread hot before adding the cheese. The bigger mistake was using too much cheese. You can fix the whole thing by warming the cheese on the grill (griddle in this case, I think) for a 1/2 second before adding it to the bread (which should already be on the griddle and toasted on the top side where the cheese is added).
Edit to add: and you can cover it to let it steam for a couple seconds if the cheese isn't melted yet, but your bread needs to be pretty firm for that, or you'll just have a soppy grilled cheese.
I feel like the french onion soup would be really tasty with rye bread. I've seen it served with french onion soup and I feel like it complements the onion flavor well

Not sure if you guys read the comments but.... Two pro poor guy tips for grilled cheese. Light salt when the second side is done it obsorbs the salt right away. Secondly to preserve crisp cut it in half / two triangls RIGHT AWAY and plate on the sides/ crust. This stops the bottom side from steaming and both are crispy crunchy. Shout out if you try it/ add it in a future episode please :) Love the show here in Canada.

Rye is a kind of bourbon. You can also have wheated, pure corn mash, the classic barley and corn mash bill.

What happened Lily and Nicole's is why I always put my cheese sandwiches in the microwave for just a few seconds before toasting
They shouldnt have put both pieces of bread on there at the same time, you lose time for the cheese to melt. I personally throw my butter in, get both pieces in just to soak up, then take one out and put the cheese on and top, flip and then put a pan lid on so the steam can melt the cheese. avoids burning the bread.
Dry toast (no butter) the insides of the grilled cheese first. Then drop your butter in your pan, place you bread that you've toasted the inside of, and put your cheese on it. DON'T PUT THE OTHER BREAD ON YET. Cover with a lid. This creates a small oven allowing your cheese to melt faster. Keeping it open-faced will help the melting. Put your schmear on your top bread on top of the cheese, place on top of the cheese, pull off the heat, butter in pan, toast the other side COVERED.
