Guys... This song and most of your music is stuck in my playlist forever and ever and ever (u get the drill). This is what quality music feels like. Huge respect&love for you guys. you deserve only the best! RHCP FOREVER!
I think no one gives Anthony enough credit. He might not have a high vocal range like Cornell or Mercury but his voice one of the most distinct and recognizable vioces ever.
my thought exactly. while John and flea are amazing and definitely key parts of the band I honestly feel Anthony is the soul of RHCP he can't be replaced at all. He has the most distinct vocals of almost any rock singer ever you can always tell when it's a RHCP song most bands aren't like that
I can’t listen to this song’s intro without shedding tears like a baby. I will never forget my friend forcing himself to learn to play it on the guitar. Early 2000’s, Red Hot Chili Peppers, skateboarding. He lived across from me and he would play outside because his parents thought it was too loud… so as a result the whole neighborhood would get a little afternoon show. He was so fucking good. Unfortunately life plays a number on some of us and my friend got caught up with drugs and is now wandering the same neighborhood, this time homeless and out of it. He can vaguely remember me since it’s been years from when we last saw each other. This intro haunts me from when I was a kid. Peace and love
I get the same way with Creeds song “Open Arms”. When I found out i was pregnant with my first child that song was on the radio on the way home. I cried to it because it expressed exactly how I felt about my unborn child.. I miscarried 5 months later. It was so heartbreaking to me. Now every time I hear that song With Arms Wide Open I break down & have a good cry, every time! So I get the feeling 💔 Sorry about your friend

This song was my daughter's favorite. She loved the bass and would start kicking in my wife's womb whenever my wife would play this song for her. Sadly, we lost our daughter this weekend to trisomy 13. She was 3 1/2 weeks away from her birth date. We dedicate this song in memory of her.
My dad loved RHCP. He used to play their songs back in the 2000s when I was a little kid, and the memory still remains. Unfortunately, he died from a heart attack which made me really sad. But dad, I promise I'll keep on listening to your favourite songs. You had a fantastic taste in music.
I remember obsessing over this whole album and the video when I was 10, just hearing the first chords brings me back to that time, music is truly magical.
fru's harmony really changes the game. they are all insanely good, but i think that adds the extra pizzazz that takes that part to the next level. the bass line too, though. and the guitar, drums and AK lol.
I remembered one part of this song that goes, "By the way I tried to say I'd be there" and after all this time (it's been like 3 years I didn't listen to them back in the early 2000s I was an infant back then) I just looked up what I thought it was, "By the way I tried to save" and I was gonna listen to every result UA-cam gave me but here it is the first song that popped up. Funnily enough I was listening to "old" 90s and 2000s music the other night and red hot chili peppers was a band I wanted to check out more.
Nice! My introduction to RHCP was sophomore year of high school. My step-dad had just bought the stadium arcadium album and was playing it while grilling on the porch. I "borrowed" the album after that day, memorized the lyrics to every song on both discs and it's been history ever since

I cant listen to this song without shedding a tear. Its my favorite song of all time and in the time I lost it it became more and more relevant to me
My favorite part of this song is when he says "Standing in line to see the show tonight and there's a light on, heavy glow." and "Dani the girl is singing songs beneath the marquee, overload." Just the way he says it is great, energetic and makes me feel great. It creates a bunch of different images in my head and I enjoy it. I also love the instrumental synthesizer electronic parts and they are quite interesting and fun to listen to. They are also energetic and sounds great.
Mhm agree with GalaxyBee. I remember reading an interview with Anthony about how Californication, By the Way, and Dani California area a trilogy of sorts about Dani

It's crazy how I went through my teens and twenties listening to these guys when they were on the radio or on a playlist but never were really into them AND THEN NOW after all this time I have gotten really into their music. They have a couple dozen great songs and it's really cool to see their style of music evolve as they grew up and you can say as they evolved. I don’t understand how this song doesn’t have thousands of millions of views if it is the perfect motivational song to encourage yourself before entering surfing, skiing, skydiving, an exam in college, or before any situation you must perform and save face 🔥
my school teacher showed us this video when we were about 8 years old (around 2004) cos she was a massive RHCP fan. we loved it so much we went out on playtime to react this whole video

NOSTALGIA
😆😏

This video introduced me to the Chili Peppers. It used to play on TV everyday, and quickly became my favorite music video, and I made my dad buy me their greatest hits album, just for this song.

This the first rock music song I “rocked out” to standing in front of my tv on vh1 when I was 15yrs old living in Compton 🙌🏾
Nineteen years after this song was released, and it still sounds great!
This is one of those songs that 40 years from now people will still say is timeless.

I love Flea’s bassline in this song it’s so powerful
Emily Sanchez agreed, the intro is amazing
2:41 Anthony starts furiously T-Posing
Careful, he's furious
I don’t understand how this song doesn’t have thousands of millions of views if it is the perfect motivational song to encourage yourself before entering surfing, skiing, skydiving, an exam in college, or before any situation you must perform and save face 🔥

my school teacher showed us this video when we were about 8 years old (around 2004) cos she was a massive RHCP fan. we loved it so much we went out on playtime to react this whole video

Fave song ever. Loved it before I even knew of the band. Loved the tune before I learned the lyrics. RHCP are forever my best bandx💚

When this debuted on MTV2 in the UK, they played it on repeat from 0.00 to 6.00 am. I kept waking up to the same song every couple of hours.
De repente o refrão dessa música a qual não ouvia há anos veio na minha mente, enfim vim procura-la e curtir🥰🎧🎶🇧🇷
