If you look at Alex kickboxing, you'll see he knows how to counter really well. Tom would have to knock him out by either tricking him like Izzy did or by pushing him against the fence and landing big shots on the break, but he'd have a hard time rushing in because of how technical Alex is with his striking. He never really rushes forward and he isn't the type of guy to throw reckless shots. I don't think Alex would win for sure but I don't think a striking battle between them would "one way" at all. I think Tom would just sub him in the first. They both have the ability to knock each other out but Alex doesn't have the ability to defend Tom's grappling. It's only a one way fight is Tom takes him down in the first and strangles him.

As much as I'd like to see Aspinall fight Pereira, there's really only one fight we need at heavyweight right now. We want to see Jones vs Aspinall. The GOAT vs one of the strongest ever interim title holders. Aspinall is an amazing fighter and he deserves a chance to end this conversation once and for all. To be fair I'd like to see Jones stripped and have him fight a comeback fight and then be put on the fast road to fight Aspinall so we can put this misery business behind us but because Jones is one of the best MMA fighters to ever do it, he'll never get stripped for an injury, no matter how good the contender is.
A very big jump/challenge for Alex to take. Would make more sense for Alex to fight a few lower level guys at heavyweight and get bigger himself over time rather than jumping straight to an opponent that can probably beat Jon Jones. Pereira v Gane would be good.

Tom would have to knock him out by either tricking him like Izzy did or by pushing him against the fence and landing big shots on the break, but he'd have a hard time rushing in because of how technical Alex is with his striking. He never really rushes forward and he isn't the type of guy to throw reckless shots. I don't think Alex would win for sure but I don't think a striking battle between them would "one way" at all. I think Tom would just sub him in the first. They both have the ability to knock each other out but Alex doesn't have the ability to defend Tom's grappling. It's only a one way fight is Tom takes him down in the first and strangles him.

As much as I'd like to see Aspinall fight Pereira, there's really only one fight we need at heavyweight right now. We want to see Jones vs Aspinall. The GOAT vs one of the strongest ever interim title holders. Aspinall is an amazing fighter and he deserves a chance to end this conversation once and for all. To be fair I'd like to see Jones stripped and have him fight a comeback fight and then be put on the fast road to fight Aspinall so we can put this misery business behind us but because Jones is one of the best MMA fighters to ever do it, he'll never get stripped for an injury, no matter how good the contender is.
A very big jump/challenge for Alex to take. Would make more sense for Alex to fight a few lower level guys at heavyweight and get bigger himself over time rather than jumping straight to an opponent that can probably beat Jon Jones. Pereira v Gane would be good.
