I am a first time saddle hunter this year and your content has reduced the learning curve tremendously! I truly think I have a great setup and it's still getting better. I just installed these USA attachments to my (4) Beast Gear Minis. I know this is going to be one of the quickest, quietest, and most stable options out there. I had great first year success with the saddle and took my first two deer out the of the saddle, a doe and a mature 7 pointer. I am absolutely ADDICTED!! Again, I truly appreciate the time and effort you put into these videos. They are well done and simply the best we could want as beginners.... and by the way... I am getting into saddle hunting as a 50+ year old... dang... that sounds old!!... but I am super active and go at them hard.... Have a great day and keep up the great work! DW
Tried this a while ago about a year ago and after a while i went back to the amsteel daisy chain it was just simply easier to put on and remove from the tree. But good luck using it.

With the six remaining steps I had with no woopies I bent the loop where the bury end of the woopie attaches to the cranfod step in so it touches the step and threaded a rachet strap through them and now have a ring of six steps rock solid if u get them real tight on the tree......cranford makes good products

Wonder if this would work on a one stick with a platform attached like the ultimate one stick? I wonder if it would hold tight enough to handle the side pressure. maybe you could do a short video on that
Here is a helpful tip. It may take a extra second but well worth it when you're trying to stay quiet. This only works if you have a long enough rope. After your throw your rope around the tree, go another time around the tree but go under your stick for the second time. This will help girth around the tree and prevent any kind or roll or slip. You also dont have to cinch the prusik as tight.

I use a daisy chain on the predator platform with great success. After I get set up and notice the back standoff isn’t firm against the tree I’ll lift the platform up with 1 foot and stand on the top post then cam it over with my feet.
Spencer, i heard you say at the end of the video that it takes 2 hands to cinch down so this probably wouldn't be a good route to go to use it on a one stick instead of a cam cleat? thanks
@@SaddleHunter I bought cranfird 20 rope on steps from jays and used 4 of the woopies on the sticks and 1 on each of my platforms feels like they are glued to the tree and they bite and set awesome
I have owned my Hawk sticks since before they shipped with versa buttons. I had to make my own and you can see the process in an old video I have called "How to Modify Hawk Heliums". Essentially I used a grade 8 bolt, fender washer, and a small metal spacer.
I believe its bungee cord, which helps wrap / fasten the strap to sticks (since it can stretch to the nearest attachment point whether versa button or cleat.
This is the same method I use with oplux and a prusik alot cheaper to build than amsteel cpl guys have vids on UA-cam on building them outta existing rope mods by far my favorite attachment method
@@SaddleHunter I use Amsteel on my farm arborist work. However I use it for my rope puller or come-a-long applications. I climb trees with a camp Samson Predator rope which is 14.2 mm. I also have several 8mm tactical oplux which I have a factory sewn 6mm prusik on. I think I would use it rather than the Amsteel for these reasons. The Amsteel works great as a cable but not for girth hitching. It tends to fray on bark. When it does this the integrity is compromised & it can make snagging noise. The outside coating on the Oplux is much tougher & quieter. I like the slightly smaller prusik on the tether. I actually have a lanyard on 1 of my saddles that I rig camo prusik on. It's not weight bearing but u can put a small carabiner like the 1 WEI offers & use it to girth hitch the tree with your tether. That way the lanyard is attached to both loops on either side of u & the girth hitch will not move. The big advantage to this is u can sway to 1 direction & not the other. By switching what side u put the prusik on your lanyard being the right or the left side depends which way u can sway. The quietest & safest way to shoot from a tree & the only way u will have noise is with your foothold. It's called a floater on a lanyard, but I like to think of it as a choker.
am i the only one noticing the stick twisting when hes on the stop step? i like the light weight and fastness of this method but it seems less stable than a daisy chain or a rope mod
I’m not seeing an advantage to the Amsteel rope mod. This idea was kicked around with climbing rope and prussic 10 years ago on Archery Talk. Most people went back to rope mod with either rope, Amsteel or webbing. Love the channel btw. Your passion is awesome.
For me the advantage is not having to monkey with half hitches in the dark, I'm not a big fan of that. I'm genuinely curious about the angle comment, because I've heard that before. Why is it different? The concluding amount of sag is the same, the stick just doesn't sit as far to get there. I know it has nothing to do with stretch because amsteel doesn't stretch.

Just received mine unfortunately didn't like it .took prusic off used like reg rope mod works better In my opinion but digging 1/8 in size
