KZ D-Fi - The most mature Sounding KZ single dynamic to date....or not!

- KZ D-Fi is the latest in the long evolution process of Single DD iems launched by KZ.
From the early beginnings of the CCA CRA with the XUN driver without the conical rear back structure , to the EDA Balanced, onto the Lyra, then CXS and more recently ZVX, the Legendary driver as it has become known, is one of the most well designed DD, focusing on extracting every last ounce of performance from it's design.
The D-Fi is without question a mature sounding IEM, taking advantage of the Zobel network to extract better performance from the midrange frequencies and giving us a very un-KZ sound which is worthy and a true testament to KZs abilities.
Fantastic review as always! You set the bar high
KZ also offer the D-Fi in a version without the tuning circuit , wonder how that would compare
Great review. A lot of users like me began on this iem World with Kz. Great Aktos.
hi,thanks for the awsome review
Great review. When is your non tunable version review coming
Nice review thanks what you did to achieve the last graph
Akros; I was wondering if you could clarify something for me about KZ/CCA cables. I've heard in the past that KZ/CCA IEM's use QCD connectors, but with reversed polarity from normal QDC cables. Do you know if this is actually the case, and if so does it have any effect on sound? Just wondering if I should buy KZ/CCA specific cables, or if any aftermarket QDC cable (from the likes of XINHS or NiceHCK) will do?
KZ stock cables use the QDC physical connector but are normal polarity, i.e. same as regular 2 pin- positive is on the inside of the hook, negative/ground is on the outside. Most other companies using the QDC connector are also normal polarity, I have the UM MEST and Tangzu Wan'er for example and they are both normal polarity as well as the many KZ I have.
KZ never used reverse polarity. QDC stock cables however ARE reversed polarity. This is a thing with QDC, but it's QDC, not other companies that use the same connector. I have the QDC Anole VX and its stock cable is reverse polarity.
Aftermarket QDC/KZ C-Pin can be either, I have got both. You can check it with a multimeter. Xinhs QDC cables are reverse polarity (positive on the outside). Conversely, I have a Fengru QDC cable that is standard polarity.
I don't think it matters personally, I can't hear it. Some can hear it with specific test signals but even then they can rarely hear it with actual music.
Can you share name or link to this tips which you recommend in this video?
Do you think it's worth an upgrade to the D-Fi (non tune) or the ZVX if I am coming from the EDA Balanced?
Another Good Review 👍 KZ w nicer cables looks like Lexus line up 😊 👍
Can you provide a name or a link for the beautiful red cable you have on the ZVX?
Congrats for this incredible review. Which one is more comfortable? ZVX or DFI?
Basically the same
Great review. As far as budget iems, I’m going for the Tanchjim Zero and the Heart Mirror Zero as my next purchases. What can I say, I’m just a Zero kind of guy.
@@user-du6jb6lt7z jinghong?
Yes. Lovely budget set. Right amount of base and treble. Very good mids and very good distances between instruments and vocal.
@@user-du6jb6lt7z can you share link? Can find them thnx
I really enjoy it... 2DD. Good driver at budget price...
@@user-du6jb6lt7z I have the Tangzu Warner. The Jinghong I can’t seem to find anywhere. Could you please provide a link..?
That letshouer ear tips u are mentionig can I buy them separately. Which one are those?
I'll try find the link
Amazingly detailed review! Btw, have you received the Standard D-fi (Non-tunable) version? I'm kind of curious what differences it has with the Tunable one. I'm actually planning on buying the regular version but I have some concerns. Some people claim that the Standard version is using different "internals"(maybe drivers?) and also has a different tuning. However KZ's advertisement claims that the Standard version is the same with the tuning set to the default "All Switches Down/Disabled" on the Tunable version claiming it as "Balanced Tuning".
What are your thoughts on the Non-Tunable D-fi? Is it of the same quality as the Tunable version and is it worth it?
In all honesty I actually like the no switch DFi better.
I'll be having small video in coming days.
@@akros9333 Really? That's great to hear! Also I'm curious how differently tuned the non-tunable D-Fi is. So far there has not been anyone who has Graphed the non-tunable D-Fi. I'll be looking forward to your video about it!
@@akros9333 how big is the difference between the non tunable and the tunable (with all switches off or default switch configuration)? Which one would you recommend to person who listens to multiple genre's such as rock, metal, punk, and rap music?
@@reversicle212 non switch version is better....more fun
@@akros9333 I heard that the zvx and the non tunable d-fi sound very similar. I'm already buying the zvx so do you think I should get the non tunable or the tunable version?
Hi 🙂, for around 30 bucks what do you recommend more, Hz mirror/ mirror zero with vent mod or this KZ? In therms of sound and technicalities.
Tough question....I have a soft spot for the HM.....
HM wins for me
Wow. FINALLY CVJ DID ZACH IT
what eartip is used in zvx?
Looks like acoustune aet07 medium or kbear 07 medium. They look 99.9% the same lol.
@@makapc2220 thanks for the tip 👍
Should i happy cause the market moving fast or sad since I got the olina for like 6 months only
This same olina se/dunu titan s??? thank you.
@@user-pd9ld4hz9j close your eyes and listening to music is so close that i wish i wont buy olina
is that better than trn mt3?
Yes it is..... but get the regular D-Fi
@@akros9333 ok thx bro
Am enjoying my the nicehck nx7 mk4 three iem in one 🤑👌
I literaly have less of an ideah as to which pare i want now thanks to your audiophile blabbing
Hi , I like to blab 😁😁😂😂....but I will make it easy, the ZVX is the one that makes the most sense of you are not going to play with switches.....which I am sure is the case 95% of the time.
The D-Fi is worth it, if you like the sound just ever more open and little more detail.
It's a choice that will depend on musical taste.
Personally since I don't play with switches and if I want more detailed sound I have other IEM, I would go for ZVX with wide bore tips.....its pretty spectacular!
