My 1971 DS21 is quite reliable. The engine can run forever . The car is like an airplane, it needs constant maintenance and ajustments (and that is what I love !). At 70 MPH on the highway, it is much better than my new Audi. Just love the damn thing.
Ahh the BVH transmission. People were scared of it back in the day but mine, once it was properly adjusted, was very reliable and magnificent. In 1985 when I bought my current DS I was advised that the 5 speed 2.3EFI was the car that would be most desirable if I ever chose to sell it so that is what I got but nowadays people just want a DS without realising the differences.
I wonder if my DS 23 Pallas, looks like that when cruising along the freeway. I never get tired driving it,regardless of distance,a true long distance express.
Fun when we made it.... a half a day of driving around the countryside, new friends, common toy, great car, and the music just fits... thanks for the comments...
@DMRouillon Aussiefrogs is not actually a Yahoo group, but an independently run internet forum for fans of all French cars. I have had it said that AF is probably the best English language based French car forum in the world as it deals with ALL ages of French cars. There are members from all around the world - not bad for a forum that someone started over 10 years ago. Cheers UFO (on AF) Excellent video and music by the way!
That they are still in good numbers, well maintained or restored for the most part, and parts readily available, the cars are/can be very reliable, every day transportation. Very devoted enthusiatists work with each other to know each system of the car, and defeat it's main enemy, rust. Many, including my DSpecial, have over 200K miles and run as new..
15/6 22, Is the current Citroën Co the same as the one that made these? Think today's is part of Stellanis containing over 30 marques with French & ltalian brands propped up with government finances. US was once an export market for those original Citroëns.
How come the white DS21 is not American spec yet it is registered in California? The US versions had to meet different requirements to their European counterparts. I'm a British expat here in the States and grew up with Citroens. I was a member of the Citroen Car Club in the UK. I miss seeing them so much - I haven't seen a single Citroen in the States in 5 years! The D is the greatest car of all time. If I could get one I would trade my 2010 Dodge Challenger in a heartbeat.
there's a Yahoo group... Aussiefrogs... google them.. and join the group... its free...great group of guys... and tons of info for Aussies with Citroens... they are very organized and a great group, good tips, what to watch out for, etc..
Absolutely brilliant. Tres bien. x

Have you thought of the title.. I first thought of the movie... "Morgan''.. but a different guy going nuts a different way...
The black one is an earlier model. Check the headlights.:)
Yup. Phil Caron’s First design model. Thanks Dennis
Citroen DS the best car ever¡¡¡ Viva La DS
I love the black one. Which model is it?
I wonder? In the USA they froze the headlights from moving with the sterring. Blasphemy. Can we find one in France, do you think?
