Excellent! There is the other TVZ mention is Season 2 regarding the argument with Greg12 (who is probably 12 years old) over the better version of Pancho and Lefty - Townes' original vs. Willie Nelson's cover. Now for the rant: The music and especially the Townes Van Zandt references help propel Patriot to a higher level show. Often shows/movies will pander to a more common denominator - for instance in the movie High Fidelity using Bruce Springsteen as the musical reference point rather than Richard Thompson, who was actually part of the original Nick Hornby novel (I don't believe Springsteen wasn't even mentioned in the book). Also I don't recall any sighting of a Television T-shirt in the movie either (RIP Tom Verlaine). The movie is a love story that is intertwined with music, hence the title, and yet they went for the common denominator and insulted anyone who read the book and is into music (at least I was insulted). Whereas Patriot aims high, doesn't pander to its audience, which I appreciate, especially as a fan of music, and again this makes Patriot stand out. Keep up the great work.
ahh just found the other video about Rochambeau - So nice, really thankful here! :) ...I think it's also funny, because Agathe is winning - while spoken genuinely - by giving John a compliment which might make him relax for a second while she doesn't need the relaxation..
Wow! This is a fantastic analysis. Thanks for the deep dive! Personally, the first play through of If I Needed You makes me so sad and angry - because Tom wouldn't, and didn't, come for John when John needed him. The absence of his genuine love and support are papered over by the increased efforts of Ed, Alice, John's mom, but Tom himself doesn't do almost anything at all for John himself. (Sorry if this comment doesn't make sense, it's 1am. Your videos - between your voice and the contemplative vibe of the show itself - really help me to unwind.)
so glad to have found other fans!.. ..Regarding the Agathes "cards" as you said.. I would like to add: Remember the rock, paper, scissor game and the comment made by her that people think that it is a game of luck, when in truth its a game of skill.. ..I think it is actually a whole topic worth another video:DD

Note that father and son have their capos on different frets in that scene - mistake or intentional?
Whoa
