    Neat, never thought about the full loading of those huge nets. Love the flop being left in. Your "arms length" is also a fathom-and is usually close to the same as your height. Catch 'em all, let the market sort it out.

    That's a serious net man, I threw a 10 foot net a few day ago and thought I was a badass. I bet that 18ft is heavy as all get out too. Also, cheers from Florida.

    you should do a spin for a net that big. I do commercial fishing and I throw a 14 ft 27#but I don't have to spin. that nets huge though bro. good job!

    • @johnbellis2000

    That a hell of a net I use a 10 ft net from boat after a couple throws it straits to get heavy couldn’t imagine pulling that up full of bait and grass mud would need a Winch to get it out the water

    I just moved up to a 14 foot 1.6 pound net and am dropping pancake bombs using this technique. One throw and done, great video. Thanks!

  • @seeinstripes
    @seeinstripes 8 років тому

    I fished with a guy who threw a 12 footer and would get 7-8 feet worth of spread out of it. To me, the extra size isn't worth it if you can't pancake it. This is a great technique, but not getting a full spread with that net.

      Nevermind Krist's comment. I've quit bench and squat long ago although I knew it all it in my youth. Much more fun than bench and squat, and it maintains you in complete shape, with all the art of cast netting  thoroughly used in it !

    Saying "lead line", as in leading edge, instead of lead, PB as in the metallic element haha not sure he quite understands. Doesn't really matter what you call it when you can throw an 18 foot net though I guess... steroids don't hurt though.

    You make it look easy. Anyone who has ever tried to throw a cast net of this size will appreciate your skill. Good for you. I wish I could do the same. I will try your technique, but I am still learning how to throw a 10 footer.

      @johnbellis2000  9 років тому

      you could also try to go 12" down from horn and lay it over, puts less in your hand also,then follow the rest, I didnt mention that in first part of video, thank you for watching.

    That was really impressive. I never used one my Dad was a hook and line man. Worms and spinners. I been catching monster channel cats these past few years and i been using cut bait shad and bluegill..... I used to ask the bait guy if he breeds the shad LOL .
    I bought my first cast net at 28 yrs old a 4 footer.... Its like a whole new world opened up to me i bought a 12 footer online opens to 24 feet.
    Its got me nervous but this video is gonna help me learn. Thanks for posting it. Ive watched like 5 and yours is the best so far. I want my net to open up huge. I know 12 foot is illegal without a license but im keeping it for my shit hits the fan survival gear.

    You say 18ft. Now i know it is not easy.to throw. My friend has a custom net 21ft. And it works good off bridges. But. 14ft is all you are supposed to have. 14ft 500 square feet. I live in vero beach. And go to Tampa bay Clearwater. Gandy bridge. I have been to bum beach. Down to Naples. Pensacola and Tallahassee. Fort pierce inlet. Sebastian inlet. Jensen beach. And. Jupiter inlet Stuart inlet and a lot more. A friend taught me how to pachwhole. And. Build castsnet. His name is. T. I. M. W. A. D. E.
