please , please please, oh pretty please, do not take this video down, it keeps dissappearing , and Rene Thomas is one of my favorite guitarist ever, this is rare footage with him in a more relaxed setting, dig the bassist getting down with overdrive. Rene Thomas might not care for what he did, but is rare and different, sounds good to me. Thanks for the upload.
Another living proof that René Thomas was definitely an incredible master musician! IIMHO, he remains nsufficiently recognized for its true value in the history of jazz guitar. Thanks for uploading this document.
This venue seems an small town´s cantine. Strange place .René Thomas was the closest guitarist to Coltrane at that time. Very dynamic sound and lots of ideas.
Musicians were much more inclined to experiment in those days and audiences were happy to try something new. For me it doesn’t work without keyboard and or horns. The guitar just struggles in these situations.
I love his films with Dean Martin too!

An embarrassment of riches.see if you can post the album he did on jazzland or riverside. It might have JRM on it.🤗

Does anyone have the name of the bassist?
if only he'd had a good dentist, all could have been different.
