All these Kei type Japanese vehicles were limited to 660 cc in Japan. So unless it has had a engine transplant there is no way the engine is two litre. Also looks far to tiny for any 2 litre i have seen. 57 hp more in line with a 660 cc supercharged motor.
I think he misread or the dealer put the wrong size on the Monrony sticker. It definitely is 660cc. 57 horsepower sounds a bit low for a supercharged engine. Maybe 57 for a naturally aspirated version.
Greetings Mike, in 2008 I was stationed at the Guantanamo Bay Base and I was assigned a Van of that type of vehicle with capacity for 8 people, it drove on the left side, it had a manual transmission and was regulated top speed of 25 mph. If I'm not mistaken it was Hyundai. I tried to download a photo but I couldn't...
Back when I was in the Mil', we had a different brand of these. We drove them all over the base, and many other bases had them as well. GREAT little vehicles to use running around the mil' installations. We drove Daihatsu's, but some places has Cushman. They also come in a version that looks like a little minivan.
Good Tuesday morning, my 1998 Subaru Sambar truck arrives this morning from Japan. Must say I am very excited. I subscribed to your channel to stay connected.
I'm starting to see more of these around my town which is hilarious but cool at the same time. I admire the people who buy these since it's so out of the norm from everybody else. They make great little runarounds or promoting your business which is what most are using them for in my area. I'll see a company logo or wrap on these. Heck, there's even a dealership on my main drag that specializes in selling imported kei trucks, mostly Hondas and Daihatsus. I've even seen a fire truck version which is crazy! I didn't even know they existed! I would love to look at one up close and even take chance and drive it on our roads. It's one of those happy, feel-good vehicles that are guaranteed to get good reactions from others on the road. You won't be missed that's for sure!
Here in Germany, we had the last Iteration of the Volkswagen "Up", the smallest VW, below the Polo. In its electric version it features 83bhp while appears a little K-Car-like small. However, from heated seats and AC to backup camera it features everything you need. LED lighting. On paper, it ticks all boxes. So, for simply buzzing around from errand to errand, groceries etc., it is the perfect car which also runs on barely zero dollars (you can easily charge it from a wall outlet at home). Being electric, it is even really quick up to, say, 60-70 kph. It sold out every time VW released new batches. Those small cars are just perfect for all small distances - of course nothing for the German Autobahn. We own one besides "real cars" and would never give it away.
Yeah Boy ,you been listening 😊 In NZ these little trucks in 4x4 mode are used as farm vehicles, normally with conversion and modifications big wide mud tyres, and are very popular. And now that UA-camrs have found them ,they are popping up everywhere, heavy modified, big engines and more . I suppose they could become your 15 minute city vehicle
There are a couple of these here in Alabama. The ones you see here were some sort of 4x4 drive system, maybe homemade conversion, I don't know, and people would use them hunting out in the back woods area because, if you got it stuck, 2 people could lift it up and set it out of the stuck hole...big people with muscles, not us...LOL. When I first saw one I thought, "If you slam on the brakes that thing is gonna flip over on it's nose"...LOL. Odd looking, but I guess they have their uses. Pakistan uses these, along with their motorcycle engine 3 wheel things. You'll see people loaded up above the cab so high you'd think it would turn over, and I imagine they have...lol. Definitely a cook vehicle for real. Thanks for the share. Cheers.
Interesting about the wipers and turn signals. When I drove in Ireland our rental car had them the way we do in the States. I imagine it’s due to building them for the rest of the European market but and interesting difference
You missed a couple of key specs that I had to look up. They are usually 4 wheel drive and have a payload of about 700 lbs. So, like you said great property vehicles and hence why Disney used them. But, it doesn't seem like it would be great for off-road use. I love that the bed goes flat like that though. Thanks for informing about a whole new market!
Hey mike ,if you watch CB Media channel,he has shown lots of these in Thailand, and recently at a car show in the Philippines, they are cool , heavily modified ,so its qorth watching Chads videos, customs in Thailand and rhe Philippines is big time and they are very creative. If you had one it would fit in the garage in the corner 😅
Another reason they're not on the road is for safety reasons. They won't pass a PA inspection, hence no stickers on the windshield.lol.Keep them in Orlando and the shipping docks of Philly and Baltimore 😂
Autovlog Great Review I think that Suzuki Sambar is pretty interesting and I think you would be pretty interesting if were to get it as a Project Vehicle
I have a vw buggy Manx clone and this is probably one of the only cars that have less power and aerodynamics, 70hp and a fridge of a windshield, I get up to 80 on a good day in 30-40° weather

The face when he pulled up killed me🤣

What a great unexpected upload Mike
I drove this truck in standard transmission in Japan in 1998, on base. It was fun.
I've wanted one for a few years. Lifted with bigger tires, 4x4, camo paint job. Yes sir

Found something on the supercharger light, it only lit up on 1990, and 1991 models. Other years it does not light up to indicate when it's on boost.
Comment From the UK hello from those of us who drive on the correct side of the road😊 great fun video Mike loved it 👍

3:42 it's ETC card sound ( electric tool gate) and it's telling you the card is not there or the card is not plugged
Well, in Germany we call this an ‚Elefantenrollschuh‘ - an Elefant roller skate 😅

Bought my 2011 BMW 535i xDrive from LW. Great people to work with.
It would be great if the voice that came on during start-up said, "Me love you long time."

I’ve heard of the Subaru Sambar, I watched a video on it, they are pretty cool.
You should defo buy one and put a bigger engine and tide wheels it would look sick dude love it 👌👏
What a great unexpected upload Mike , love it 💪🏻🔥
Kind of reminds me of a little vehicle we used in the Marines called the mule. Very utilitarian but the mule didn't have a cab.
Just a slight correction. You said it has a 2 liter 4 cylinder. These are 660cc, or 0.6 liter. Very tiny!!
“Feels like your going 90” 🤣
so funny because it’s so true

Country roads in Japan are absolutely terrible you need four-wheel drive just to get down the road.
Are you going to try and destroy the transmission on this truck just like you tried on that rental car?

wow..... really cool and unique review... great content !

Would have loved to see some rollers of this truck 🛻
That’s hilarious, great video Mike!😸
Autovlog Great Review I think that Suzuki Sambar is pretty interesting and I think you would be pretty interesting if were to get it as a Project Vehicle
I have never seen a vehicle like that before!
That's a cool little truck...it's no Danger Ranger, but still.
Cool little truck
Does that one have a higher roof line than other Sambars??
The only thing cooler or as cool is the van model. The truck is smaller than a Miata
Great truck. Similar to some of the Daihatsu stuff.
I have a vw buggy Manx clone and this is probably one of the only cars that have less power and aerodynamics, 70hp and a fridge of a windshield, I get up to 80 on a good day in 30-40° weather
Bro you gotta buy this to have something to compare the ranger with
It does look fun af to drive this thing
I’m short, so I would fit easily. But I really like the big heavy duty and super duty trucks. Lol
That's a unique and very cool vehicle🎉
mate one of the best ones 😄
Would be fun to rally around the weed farm. Rad little pup truck. 💙✌️
I love the disappearing truck in the back window lol glitch in the matrix lol
Is the little purple truck faster than the danger ranger?
This is called cost of living… one day you drive Ferrari, next day you drive some KPop…
PLEASE TELL ME U BOUGH IT...
U BOUGHT IT RIGHT?...
PLEASE BUY IT... 😁
Ngl I wanna daily one of these
facts, looks so fun
I want one for the farm 😂 that sealed cab will keep me warm and dry in winter
Why tf are you uploading in only 720p on a channel with 776k subs?? Its not 2005 anymore?
Fr😂
What is faster the subie or the danger ranger? Maybe you should line them up lol
This is cool, I want one
Almost sounds like the Danger Ranger trying to start up with vodka
so...720p ?
My 2021 Mitsubishi Mirage has 78hp from a 1.2L 3 cylinder. And that supercharged 2.0 is only 57hp
He was incorrect, this is 660cc.
Should turn up at a friend's house see their reaction 😂
2 liter turbo charged, or was it super charged?
But still 57hp, should have at least 150-200 hp, and that would have been fun.
He was incorrect, this is 660cc.
How tall is this guy?
Mike ain’t trying to hate but what’s with the 720p 60fps vids lately? It’s 2024 man gotta update your equipment!
Only Sambar can fit us... over 6'1
I live in orlando and i never see it at Disney 😂😂
2 liter engine??
658cc engine. He's incorrect.
I’m gonna get short so I can get one of these…😂
Cboys tv have 2 k trucks, one has a Harley engine and the other one has a R6 engine
Danger Ranger 2.0? 😂
New idea
2 liter?? 2 liters of oil maybe
How cool is that 😂😂😂😂😂
4 cylinder 2 liters and 55hp... ??
He got it wrong. All Kei cars limited to 660cc.
Its a shame that they don't import them for off-road duty.
You'd think this would come in manual transmission
They do!
The Automatic transmission is rare for a reason - It’s terrible, and after being terrible for a few years, it’ll break.
Just like the Volkswagen bus your legs are the crumple zone.
Visit Sydney. Buy a Cadillac CT4. Do a bunch of videos. Make UA-cam money then sell it.
Den måste du köpa
to bad its automatic the CVT transmission is made of glass
Death Trap
🙂👍
Yes dude😂😂
Funny!
Like 👍
My Dirt Bike has more horse power.
