The great Ruby Star! She was a power house. So sad she suffered for years with brain cancer and then lung cancer. She was so damn great. She didn't really need a microphone. Little lady with a giant voice. Ripp Connie/ Ruby!
I am with you on that Jim. This is why I give to Saint Jude. My mom worked at Lebhoners Children's Hospital years past the burn out rate. I have a friend that his daughter is alive today because of Lebhoner. She is 17 and never has had a solid meal in her life. She is fed through a Tube. People have no clue what the Doctors and Nurses go through taking care of these kids that are Terminal. I saw my mom cry a few times when a child she loved and cared for died. Ruby suffered for years. She was a light to everyone who knew her. I feel in love with Ruby when I was 14 years old. I cried when she died. She should have been a Super Star. She is to her fans. She was a hell of a Babe. So much Energy in her performances. There will never be another one brother.
It would seem Ruby's experience as a stage-oriented presence paid-off well enough to have imprinted herself in many minds and souls, including mine....
Wow! where did you get this? saw Ruby live in San Diego in 1978 singing with Blackfoot - got to talk to her before the show - at a club called My Rich Uncles. LA band The Snowmen headlined the show - I taped Ruby with a cassette player under my seat - still have it! burned it to a CD and put some of the songs on youtube
And her bands were musically wrong for her. She needed to doing more Seventies rock, rather than this sort of Eighties hard rock. But you gotta work with what you've got, I guess.
Lord have mercy❤
Rip Ruby, thankfully, you live on!
Beautiful woman and singer.....RIP

Oh, RUBY!
Why did the guys in the band bother with the hair and costumes? No-one was looking at anything but Ruby Star...............
She had a good band but her original's were fair at best at best. With better songs, she could have been huge!
